Staff friendliness, location, nice breakfast. I definitely recommend.

Location was excellent, at the start of the old town. Easy to find by car and secure parking right outside. The pool was the biggest of any hotel i have ever stayed at. Also the pool and spa area was spotless, no sign of any mould or neglect. We had a beautiful view overlooking the old town . Big choice at breakfast but kept warm on hotplates which i hate.

This looks like a building built in the soviet era from the outside, so not the prettiest of hotels. The facilities would make it a 5 star but the carpets are all worn out everywhere and need changing. So this to me does let it down and it does not deserve the 5 star rating. Reception staff are ok but nothing special. But i will definitely stay here again when i next come to Brasov.

Excellent location in the city centre, beautiful views of the whole town from the balcony. Superb lobby and generous spaces everywhere. Despite the central location the noise level is not disturbing at all. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast excellent, a lot of choices and great quality - I think it is these two elements that could warrant the five stars, the rest of the hotel is rather on a 4-star level.

The heating system could be improved. In the first room we got it was broken and didn't produce any heat at all. Then we asked for another room where it was working, but even though we followed the instructions to set the temperature, when we returned to the room there were sauna conditions, >30 degrees according to the display, so we had to keep the window open for a while. It was then fine for the night. The pool area is nice but could do with a little renovation, and a water/tea dispenser in the sauna area would be useful too.

The only 5* thing of this hotel is the pool, that is excellent and is the only reason I prefer to stay at this hotel when in Brasov. The hotel is really good, the room is large, comfortable beds, nice staff, very nice view from the room, but the 5* rating generates some expectations that are not met. The location is very good, very close to the main walking area in the center of Brasov, close to restaurants and bars.

It was very difficult to find a parking space in front of the hotel, and the tariff shown at the entry of the hotel parking was very expensive - 15 lei/hr. We then found out that in fact the parking for guests is only 3 ron/hr, but nobody bothered to inform us when we checked in. Examples of less than 5* characteristics: - towels are pretty aged and thin. Furniture a bit outdated. Minibar door did not close properly. - quality of breakfast - not great, not terrible. Nice salads and eggs, low quality deli meat (if it was a 3* hotel, I would have said breakfast was really good). - we stayed 2 nights, nobody cleaned the room or made the beds. I was surprised to go back to the room at 3 pm and find the beds unmade.

Location was great. Breakfast selection was one the best i ever had. Indoor swimming pool and sauna.

First of all they don’t have free parking for their guests. Twin beds were one of the smallest i ever had in a hotel. Not enough seats for breakfast. Peak hours need to wait for tables. There was a gentleman working there saying people spending more than 30 min at the tables. Well Mr employee i am paying big money for this hotel so i can stay even 4 hours. You need to make sure have enough seats. Thank you!

Location is excelent if you just want few relaxing days in the heart of the city. The room was big enough, but some of the furniture was a little bit outdated and it felt a bit cheap for a 5 star hotel. The breakfast had enough options, but not as tasty as you would maybe expect from a 5 star hotel (especially the sweet options). The spa area, fitness, and the pool are amazing.

There is a smell first time you go on the hallways and in the room which is a combination of old, cleaning solution and unventilated. Having some complementary water to drink would have been nice.

The room was spacious, the view of Old Town and the Black Church was great, the decor was good and the pool was a great size and well maintained.

I went to the spa area soon after I checked in and they didn't have a masseuse until Monday, it doesn't make much sense to advertise massages if you have no weekend staff. Also the breakfast buffet was chaotic, there wasn't enough places for everyone to sit and the food was not much better than a Holiday Inn continental breakfast. I was just expecting a bit more from a "5-star" hotel.

The hotel is in an excellent location on the edge of old town and minutes from the main square. There are many restaurants immediately nearby. The hotel facilities are very good and it is the only hotel in this area with a pool. The pool and spa are very clean and fun to use. The breakfast buffet is also excellent. Parking is directly in front and easy to get in and out.

The parking was charged hourly which is odd for a hotel lot. Some things seemed a bit worn around the edges but only if one looked for it.

The rooms needs some upgrades. Different coffee facilities, machines don’t work properly. In our room the coffee machine worked first morning and the next morning didn’t work anymore. In my daughter room the coffee machine didn’t worked at well. The shampoo and shower gel facilitates maybe something with pumps, a little difficult to squeeze. My daughter linen beds had a strange smell.

The Aro Palace Hotel is in the middle of the city and it as a big swimming pool, perfect to diversify activities. The rooms are very spatious.

You can see that the furniture and the bathrooms are starting to show their age. So I think a renovation would be in order. Breakfast was fine, but the presentation was a bit sloppy. The feeling was that the food was just being thrown in the trays.
