From the moment I arrived nothing was too much trouble, I had my bags carried to my room and was told about the history of the hotel. Each time I left or entered the hotel entrance the door was opened for me and I was told to have a pleasant day. Breakfast each morning was outstanding, buffet style with an enormous amount of choice. Perfect cocktails in the bar and the option to eat in the on site restaurant if required. When leaving for the airport to go home a taxi was arranged for me with no fuss which arrived within minutes, I was walked to the taxi and my luggage placed in the vehicle.

Beautiful hotel, with an interesting history, recently modernised to a high standard. Quirky decor with antiques and eclectic finds all over the hotel. Clean and well cared for, excellent housekeeping service. Room was lovely, super comfortable and stylish, quieter rooms at the back of the hotel. Helpful staff. Some lovely restaurants and cafes in walking distance.

Breakfast buffet was awful, very difficult to find anything healthy to eat. Such a shame when this is such a great hotel! No fresh fruit apart from whole apples, one plain yoghurt but nothing to put on or in it. White toast and sugary pastries, only jam or nutella to put on toast. Orange juice in dispenser poured in from a bottle and cheap and processed. Dusty looking cereal in a dispenser. Cooked items similarly poor and not well prepared. I could go on. A few simple improvements would go a long way!

I liked the architecture of the building, and the restaurant is very nice. I liked the piano and the library as well. The lift looks amazing! There is so much art exposed on the walls which changed my mood.

Location is walking distance to the town. Lovely room and staff were friendly and helpful.

First of all They gave us a free upgrade to a deluxe king double room ,they gave us the opportunite to choose a room with balcony or without,up on arrival a bottle of wine was waiting for us complimentary. The room so big and spacious with a small living room , beautiful old fashion decor.Comfortable bed, clean linen ,spotless bathroom. Special touch the old school elevator!! Polite staff and always happy to help. Extra touch :Because of celebration of a national day they served all day free champagne ,wine cakes and sweets!!

It’s ideally located less than 1 km from the Old Center and a mere 200 meters from the Romanian Athenaeum. My executive suite was a true highlight—spacious, perfectly soundproofed, and luxuriously furnished. The excellent air conditioning was essential during Bucharest’s hot summer days. Additionally, the spacious dressing room and décor seamlessly combined contemporary style with the elegance of Interwar Bucharest, offering a delightful ambiance. The value for money here is outstanding. The hotel's hard product—its physical attributes and amenities—are top-notch, with competitive pricing for such a modern and luxurious experience. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the human factor. The staff, from housekeeping to the reception team, are exceptionally professional, friendly, and always ready to assist. Location is great, the hotel is nicely renovated with classic decorations. Room at 6 floor had beautiful view overlooking Ateneu and Cathedral. Although is located in the city center on a busy street room overlooking the courtyard is silent. Lady at the front desk smiling and very welcoming.

In the bathrooms there is a water leak and one wall had infiltration signs. The built-in wardrobe had dysfunctional doors. A coffee Nesspreso machine in the room would be great.

very good old style hotel - well preserved and very clean! Very attractive, room was very spacious and specific room had also a balcony! Bed was comfortable and all in all in the room it was really very good

some details were missing, like fridge was not plugged in and had to find out the hard way - after I put staff in the fridge and three hrs later they were not cold, batteries of TV remote control needing replacement as well as the clock that was provided, such small details. An extra pair of power sockets on the flat surface would be ideal, since I had to swap plugs between my laptop for the kettle, and the lamp.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Phoenicia. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. Upon check-in, I received a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a lovely surprise. They also gifted me a bottle of champagne- which was such a nice gesture. The staff were friendly and kind, ensuring every interaction was warm and welcoming. On my departure day, they allowed me to extend my checkout time, which gave me the chance to relax a bit longer before my flight. The room was immaculate and beautifully designed. Combined with the exceptional service, it’s clear that the team genuinely cares about creating a memorable experience for their guests. I recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Bucharest.

Renovated in an eclectic style one can find endless interesting attractions throughout the hotel lobby, corridors, rooms. Very helpful staff always with a smile on their face around the reception area. The cool, pleasantly scented interior is an oasis of peace and relaxation. The rooms are great, mattresses are just perfect, everything is clean and crisp, all appliances work. The vintage elevator works smoothly and reliably and one can find art deco in most places throughout the hotel. Location is superb, right in the centre of everything, one can plan walks around most places in town starting from the hotel. By no means a "perfect" hotel one must consider that the little things that might appear not what one expects are actually part of the exotic nature of a true Balkan hotel where many cultures meet. If something does not work as you expect try not to immediately put it in a critical review instead consider fixing it to there and then perhaps with a small baksheesh...and enjoy the experience!

It is most unfit and counterproductive to have gym / aerobic music constantly in the hotel and especially in the brasserie. The constant rhythm of drums is reminiscent of working outs and the jungle rather than a hotel with a history covering most of the 20th century. Playlists using compilations from the 1920, 1950, 1960, 1970 would create a better ambience and also attract more clients in the brasserie...we witnessed people looking in, hearing the drums and instead of sitting at a table for dinner they chose the Italian restaurant opposite the hotel ( they played Italian music).
