The hotel was very likeable and we stayed in one of the annexes. The room was large and well proportioned. The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast. Staff were very friendly and were helpful. Really lovely venue.
With the bedside lamps we assumed that there were three pin plug points for my CPAP machine. They turned out to not be three pin sockets and I had to trek out to the car park to bring in my extension cable, that I nearly fell over going to the toilet in the night, and got drenched in the pouring rain doing so!! Minor gripes at breakfast. No granulated sugar for the cornflakes and we were not offered toast.

Beautiful building and interior, all tastefully decorated for Christmas. Warm professional welcome. Lovely ground floor room as requested, quiet, warm, roomy, and well fitted out. Cans of water were perfect. Beds amazing, and the little lounge by 309 was lovely, with coffee too! Again, decorated for Christmas. Breakfast was delicious, both the continental and the cooked, all the seeds and fruits were excellent. GF well catered for too. My only negative, is not enough disabled parking, and spaces are too narrow. Struggled a bit. Zeus is a cuddly bonus!
As above re disabled parking.

Fabulous location. Very relaxing and quiet. The rooms are tastefully decorated to reflect the age of the building. Nice grounds to walk around and views.
We were unaware that they only take card payments - except for gratuities! (surprisingly!!!) I had pre paid on my card for the room and we had taken cash for food and drinks, and tipping. I understand that during covid this was an acceptable option, however, I refuse to be dictated to on how I choose to use MY money to pay for things. This was debated with other guests and we ALL felt the same. I understand there is then an issue of banking money, but this, I am sure, is offset by the card transaction fees! All financial advisors recommend using cash during financially difficult times, such as NOW! so people can withdraw their weekly budget, spending money rather than flashing a card around with no ongoing tally of their spend. Recommended by Martin Lewis !!!

Our room was in the very characterful main building and we loved it. Spacious and comfortable. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was excellent. There were many choices for breakfast- more than we have seen in other hotels- and everything was fine. Very attractive grounds and long view of the countryside.
During the evening meal, another couple made a huge fuss about the young cat, which came in an open door to outside (it was a very hot evening) and climbed up very briefly on to an unoccupied table . This was dealt with extremely promptly by the young waitress. The duty manageress dealt with the situation calmly but the couple continued their complaint inappropriately for a dining area.

When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the lady on reception! The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It had an iron and board, hairdryer, TV, tea and coffee facilities! The food in the restaurant in the evening was well presented and delicious with enough to choose from, my partner has dietary issues which can be difficult at times but we found something suitable! The waitress did ask too, we both had a lovely meal. Breakfast full English please really tasty didn't disappoint, also the continental spread was amazing so much to choose from. All in all really enjoyed The Wood Norton and will be staying again 😄
Drop your bags near reception then go to the carpark! Can't think of anything else really!

Beautiful large room overlooking the gardens; four poster bed all for me! The food was exceptional. The staff are lovely as I have been three times now I am remembered. They have a beautiful cat called Zeus who of course is the lord of the manor.
I would have prefered a shower cubical but I should have asked. The lift broke down much to the horror of the staff and beyond their ability to fit (on Christmas day of all days!) BUT it was fixed next day.

It was a very comfortable bed, and spacious room. There was an excellent choice of meals in the evening. Breakfast was superb, with a great variety and well cooked food to order. Pear Tree Close where the bedroom was, was peaceful. Do ask for the leaflets on the history of the hotel. Staff were welcoming. We will return.
A light bulb in room 307 needed replacing, the basin plug did not seal, and more importantly, there was not a plug socket near to the electric kettle. I put it on the floor near a plug, which is dangerous to lift when the kettle boils. I reported this to the receptionist who wrote these issues down. I have every faith that they will be rectified. We did not know that the bedroom was reached by accessing the path outside. If we had known we would have requested a room inside the main hotel. The rain made it worse. None of this will prevent us from returning and recommending this beautiful historic hotel. Many thanks to the staff.

Such good value for money. Great continental breakfast selection and hot food cooked to order. Dinner the night before was great, glass of Prosecco £7.20-very reasonable. Our room was in a courtyard just off the main building, good size. Toiletries in the bathroom were Molton Brown. Cans of still water provided in room-never seen before. Staff were exceptional.
Room was quite warm at night even with the window opened. Would have liked a top sheet on the bed. Stone steps from carpark quite steep.

The Wood Norton is absolutely beautiful. The timber features are stunning & we also loved Zeus the cat. The food was outstanding and the staff were attentive and helpful.
The rooms downstairs were very cold. There is one room with an open fire which was always hogged by someone. The dining room was very cold and we ate with our coats on which was not ideal. None of our party liked the decor in the bar, especially the fish wallpaper.
