Usually, the opinion about the hotel is formed by the service. The service at this hotel is perfect! The reception is attentive, polite, quickly responds to requests, they took into account the wishes of placing two rooms in the building closest to the sea. The cleaner in the room is polite, attentive to details. Bartenders make cool cocktails. The waiters are always polite, smiling and remember what a specific guest usually orders. A very cool team of animators: so cheerful, active, responsive. Guys, you are well done❤️! Sports almost all day (aqua aerobics, yoga, zumba, bocce, volleyball, etc.) Cool evening animation! I really liked the foam party and the festival of colors. Very cool❤️! The hotel has 8 a la carte restaurants. We managed to visit 5. The restaurants are all good, but I would especially like to mention the restaurants of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine - they are perfect! The territory of the hotel is quite large, there is a water park, heated pools, there is an "adults only" zone both by the pool and on the beach. And the most important thing for me is the sea. A wonderful wide clean beach with perfect sand and an entrance to the sea. Lots of sunbeds, comfortable clean mattresses, wide straw umbrellas, wind barriers! I really want to return to this hotel! Thank you for a week of fun❤️!

Beautiful, well maintained resort. The snorkeling on both the house reef and the one at the hotel next door was great, lots of different sorts of fish to see. The staff is exceptional, they really go above and beyond to satisfy your needs and to make you feel right at home. Our room had all the comforts you could wish for and was really well kept, the towel art and room decorations for my wife's birthday were really appreciated. Food was generally good, and several a la carte restaurants definitely helped with keeping things varied. Animation team is great, always in for a laugh and they go to great lengths keeping everyone entertained, with a variety of activities throughout the day.

The room felt a bit outdated, could really benefit from a refurbishment. The food in the buffet restaurant although generally was fine, was not very varied. Breakfast and lunch pretty much had the same items every day, with little variation, we got bored fairly quickly. What we also found a bit strange is that guests from the new Tucana hotel next door, were also allowed to use the beach and restaurants of Sunrise Royal Makadi, but not vice versa. This wasn't too much of an issue right now, outside of the high season, but one can imagine when things get busier, this might lead to capacity problems.

It was our very first time at the Royal Makadi Sunrise Resort and the experience has simply been exceptional. It started with the reservation and the communication with the hotel has been very reactive and fluide. Our requests for the room was respected and the entire team is super efficient to make the check in super fast. The entire complex is very well managed. The team (reception, restaurant, beach, maintenance etc...) is super friendly and customer oriented. To be frank this is not the style we were used to in Egypt, and it was really impressive. Choice of restaurant (buffet or à la carte) is really great. Unique (tiny) comment -> the online booking system for the restaurant is working randomly but customer service was always ready to help. To be super "peaky", tennis courts may open a bit earlier than 8 AM. When things are easy, no need to make them complicated -> we are super happy with our stay and are clearly envisaging to come back in the near future.

Breakfast very varied, omelettes were cooked fresh. Ala carte restaurants good service and good quality, our favourite was the Egyptian experience. What I really like is that you can be in the pool one minute and then the sea the next as all close together. A selection of pools were heated and made the stay more enjoyable. The sandy beach is well looked after and has its own reef to snorkel and waiter service for drinks on the beach is a good experience. All staff very friendly and attentive and genuinely want your stay to be the best. We are repeat guests and this hotel gives us everything we want from a holiday. We feel relaxed and comfortable the moment we arrive.

People reserve front row sunbeds very early and then leave but as we are early risers we stayed with our beds. We saw management addressing the situation and was very pleased to see them implementing the no reserve policy please keep this up.

The staff was amazing, the kindest people I have ever met. They do their best to make sure you are happy and all your needs are met. Every day we received a message from the reception reminding us that if we need anything they are of service. The suite was very nice and comfortable, large enough for a family. Everything we needed was provided (from slippers to bathrobes). The soundproofing of the room was very efficient, no sound coming in from the pool area our balcony was overlooking. We didn't encounter any issues in finding a place by the pool even on the days when we preferred to sleep in. All the pools were sparkling clean and overall well maintained. Also in the waterpark area, the staff was very involved in keeping everyone safe and we didn't notice any incidents. And the waterpark was just big enough for our 10 year old, not too small that it becomes boring but not too crazy that it becomes overwhelming. The A la carte restaurants were simply amazing, a big thank you to chef Mahmoud who made our last night in the Asian restaurant truly memorable. The main restaurant is very well maintained, there are a lot of staff clearing out plates or serving drinks, it never happened that we wouldn't find a table, even during peak hours. The local drinks were not to our taste (way too sweet) but the soft drinks like Cola and Fanta were just as we knew them. The beer was also a good choice.

One of the two rooms heads directly into the hallway where inconsiderate guests would often yell at one another at inappropriate hours, waking us up. Nothing that can be blamed on the hotel, but still unpleasant. On every floor there is a smoking area and sometimes the smoke would go into the room when the day was windy. Maybe it would be a good idea to get rid of these areas or move them outside. A drying rack for the towels and swimwear on the balcony would be appreciated. There is one in the bathroom but they would often remain damp due to the lack of ventilation.

We just returned from a week's holiday in this hotel (2 adults, 2 children). The All positive reviews of this hotel are absolutely correct, this is a great place to stay, we highly recommend. Few points to mention: 1. Friendliness of the staff. This has exceeded our expectations. Whatever issue we had, it was immediately resolved with no hassle. The personnel is extremely polite at all levels - from a porter to reception manager. We have never seen anyone with a grumpy or annoyed look during our stay. This is impressive as it shows that hospitality is not just a buzzword for the management but a key value. Our children were also surrounded by smiles and care. 2. Facilities. there is everything for a family stay, a great aquapark with around 15 slides, several swimming pools, 7 restaurants, a beach, a gym (surprisingly well-equipped). Everything is also conveniently located so you don't need to walk too long (important with the young kids). 3. Food. Fresh, varied, tasty - there is something to everyone's taste. We did not even have time to visit all a-la carte restaurants. The ones we visited served tasty food (ok, obviously it's not the same Italian as in Italy in the Italian restaurant but it's good enough). Do visit the Bedouin restaurant though, the food there completely blew us away, it was one of the best cooked grilled meat that I have ever eaten in my life. Service at all restaurants is quick and efficient 4. The beach. A lovely sandy beach, very clean and well-kept (you can literally eat that sand, there is no dirt or garbage there). Shallow entrance to the water which is ideal for young children. There are 2-3 small coral reefs at the beach but of course to do some serious snorkelling you need to go somewhere else (we did not so can't comment on that). There were always enough sunbeds on the beach, you don't need to do a mad rush before breakfast to reserve spots, we never had any issues regardless of when we arrived there.

Hello to the entire Sunrise team! We had another fantastic vacation with you! Everything was perfect! All the a la carte restaurants are world-class! The entire team is first-class! Big praise to Mohamed and the pool bar team! They make every effort to make all guests happy! When you have such great employees, you can't let them go. Even in the room (38106), we felt like home! Big praise to Sudi, our cleaning man. Breakfast at Frida is a perfect, calm, and relaxing way to start the morning. A big compliment to the staff there too! The animation team and the activities are great! I also don't want to forget the reception staff. Everyone is always very friendly and always happy to help if you have any questions. Many thanks to the entire Sunrise team for a perfect vacation! A clear 10 out of 10! We will definitely be back next year!

Variance in payment amounts on booking than hotel website We were group of five families payed different amounts although we all had family rooms , booked on same day.

A very nice hotel close to the beach with plenty of amenities (pools, waterslides, tennis, archery, football, mini-golf, volleyball). The pool with water slides is heated, so we were able to enjoy it even in winter. The staff is extremely friendly, kind and accomodating. Upon arrival, we asked for rooms that get sunlight for most of the day, and we got lovely rooms very close to the beach. The food was excellent, and in addition to the main restaurant, there are several other restaurants (reservation required 2 days in advance) and a snack bar at the pool, near the beach that operates between lunch and dinner, so you cant go hungry at any time :) We were extremely satisfied and will gladly return again.
