- Location is excellent, within walking distance from the centre and easy to drive to from the E40 - Rooms are modern and clean, really nice artistic touches and the shower isexcellent - Restaurant/bar is a really nice place to sit for a few drinks - Hotel staff are really friendly and helpful

- Breakfast is very good, but is €29 per person. There are cheaper options nearby if you don't want to pay it - Some double rooms are considerably bigger than others, so something to bear in mind when travelling with a baby needing a cot - Parking is €30/day (but then is in a city centre so fair enough - just to be aware of)

The place was great, good breakfast, comfortable room. The staff helped me with all my requests, specially when I was leaving, as it was a bit difficult to get a taxi as the streets in the neighbourhood were closed. Location was great, and close to the historic part of the city and to the places I needed to go. I really enjoyed the stay at the hotel.

The only detail with the room was that it was not very convenient to work. I had to put my notebook was on the desk beside the washbasin. And the chair was too high, not comfortable to sit for a long time. In this particular trip I had to use too much time working inside the room, but I guess in other circumstances it would have been less relevant .

One of the nicest hotels we stayed in- new, trendy and very comfortable. The location was great and the staff very really good. Yes, you needed to be patient, as they were very busy, but we were not in a rush. Were already booking again in summertime. Breakfast was really good- all we needed.

We were unable to book a table in the lobby in the evenings, as lots of local people popped in to have drinks. I feel they should proritise hotel guests. The other criticism- there was a note in the room about not requesting the room to be cleaned, but we didn’t see it until too late. I feel this should be mentioned when checking in.

Gorgeous hotel with lovely staff. The room was beautifully designed with great attention to detail. Nice variable lighting and the toiletries smelt divine, so much so that I purchased some to take home! The bed was very comfortable and bathrobes were available on request, which we did as the towels were a bit in the tiny side! The guide booklet provided by the hotel in the room was also really useful and another lovely touch.

Only a couple of tiny things that could be improved, mainly the fact that our cups and glasses weren't swapped for clean ones and our bin wasn't emptied when the maid came in to make the bed on our second day. The tea and coffee options in the room were also limited, but sufficient. But that's pretty much the only thing that could have been improved so that's very good going!

The room was great. We chose room with a view. It came with lounge area in the patio. The room itself was very very well equipped, iron, hair dryer, toiletries, speaker, you name it. The staffs were very delightful and provided very friendly services. The location of the hotel is also really great, located near shopping street, surrounded with many restaurants, walkable distance to major attractions.

Not the end of the world but we were on the top floor just below the rooftop bar, we could hear the music from above. The room has great sound proofing but you would occasionally hear the music and feel the buzz through your room. The music ended not late in the night so I was not that disturbed by it.

The hotel is fresh, clean and well appointed. The rooms are small but there are spaces for putting things away. The hotel appears to promote it's roof top bar as it's best feature. They also appear to staff it over the rest of the services for guests. It is packed on weekends and evenings when open. The regular area bar staff is not attentive. Twice I was ignored when sitting in the bar and left for another cafes. Housekeeping was good, they promote green services and encourage less daily services.

Bar staff, selections for food that were more in line for lunch and dinner when one did not need gourmet food.

Yalo hotel is perfect for the leisure and business traveller. Smart spaces, great vibe, handy location to the centre of Ghent but far enough away to have some peace from the Gent Festival vibes (which is brilliant by the way!). 3 mins walk to Sint Baafs and from there only a few more minutes to the shopping centre. Check out the roof garden whilst you're here too. Breakfasts are colourful and delicious with lots of choice - including pancakes and waffles for the tourists and younger travellers. Rooms are a great size with comfortable beds and waterfall showers (we had a family room and could stretch out with ease). Absolutely love Yalo hotel - this is our second visit and we will return.

Only small issue is with parking. There are spaces - but be aware that demand is high over the weekend and when the festival is on. The carpark is shared with other businesses and is 'tight' - be aware if you have a medium/large sized- car. May be easier to park in nearby Reep carpark (and cheaper too!)

This hotel is close to all the tourist attractions in Ghent. It is a bit far from the train station. We took the tram which was quite convenient. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were all friendly and did their very best to cater to our needs.

The water pressure in the shower was not good. The mattress was too soft for us. The roof top bar was a rip off. We understand there is a price premium attached to the “roof top “ however, we didn’t even get to enjoy much of the “view”, because we were not sitting along the one lane of the tables that offered the view.

Stylish modern hotel, lovely rooms and sunny roof terrace with bar. We also booked a terrace with our room. Reception staff were helpful and friendly and the location was fine to walk into the city.

The bathroom in our (expensive) room didn’t have a sink so you had to wash your hands in the bedroom, which was a bit strange. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was nice but expensive. The thing that put us off most though was that the bar/restaurant staff were openly drinking alcohol on shift, clearly condoned by the management. There’s hip and then there’s just slightly poor and unprofessional service.

Great location in the city centre, friendly staff, and indeed a not so standard room (larger than normal). The styling of the rooms make you feel at home. And to my surprise my wish for a room with a view at the St Baafs Cathedral was granted. Breakfast was awesome and got us going for the day.

Temporary reservation of EUR 250 on my credit card on the day of our stay. As later explained this was as a precaution in case any damage is done to the hotel room. I have never come across such a measurement in the hotel business. And this term was not explicitly communicated when booking the hotel. Check-in at 16:00, quite late.
