I liked everything about the property. How secure it is especially. The room service etc was definitely worth every penny. Enjoyed it so much me and my sister who i stayed with are both already planning the next stay!

Only 2 things i could possibly fault is the man that served us drinks at the bar was rather rude. Slamming around and basically just not being bothered. Charged me wrong for drinks admitted it and laughed saying oh its fine. Other thing is the tv in the room… tried to turn it up especially when getting ready and it wouldnt. Also need more channel choices. Other than that everything else was amazing!!

The location was perfect. A very short walk from pubs/restaurants/shops and the main shopping mall. I booked a executive suite which was huge - very spacious and clean.

The breakfast was poor. When we entered the restaurant lots of breakfast items had run out so we had to wait a while for fresh to be brought out. However, when the counter was restocked most of it was only aired at best. The only things that were hot were the sausages. The beans were overdone to the point there wasn't any sauce left - it had thickened so much. My advice would be to not bother booking breakfast and to venture into the centre for something to eat which is only a couple of minutes walk away! Also, the hand/body wash container on the wall by the shower was empty but luckily there was another bottle by the sink - a little awkward stepping out of the bath/shower to get some as they're locked in place in the holder but I guess it wasn't the end of the world.

Staff were excellent - friendly and remembered previous orders and conversations. Great location close to the river, train station, and bus station. Close to the city centre. We booked with breakfast and dinner, and food was very tasty, even in the reduced menu. Temperature in room well balanced. The room spacious, beds comfortable. Water in the shower easy to set. Good lighting. Glass walls of the staircase gave good view of the city.

We got room for disabled people, and after having a shower the floor in the bathroom was inevitably all wet. There weren't toilet brush, so not easy to clean after use. There were huge TV set, however without any channels set (none if the free ones), so without any privately owned logins to e.g. Netflix, there is no use of the set. There was hardly anyone in the hotel, but we got a room without a view - it was just inner concrete square. Great shame considering the hotel's fantastic location. I guess this is what I paid for (good price). Also, three were no fridge in the room. It was a "cooler", but it was not cool, so rather useless for keeping milk and juice.

The warm welcome of the staff, the decor and ambiance, particularly the Japanese garden, Spa area and reception area A wonderful massage, properly warm spa pool, sauna and steam room and a nice, big enough pool

The first room we were shown was quite small with a window looking onto the restaurant roof. OK for a single night on a business trip, but not the beautiful country weekend spa break we were anticipating We were kindly moved to a more spacious comfortable room. The Swimming area needs a bit of maintenance to bring it back to the very high standards elsewhere. It would be nice to turn off lobby area lighting when in bed.

Hotel was easy to locate and comfortable as well as clean. Reception is on the 4th floor but that isn't an issue.

The parking concession at the Derbian. You need to put your registration into a tablet at Reception on your departure. Despite doing this and being told it was successful, we were charged full price on exit The receptionist told us that if this did happen we were to contact the guys that run the car park. Well I don't think so, if you are offering a concession then it should work, and it shouldn't be left to the customer to ring around at 7am in a lonely car park trying to get compliance. This sort of thing, while minor, just makes the stay less enjoyable - especially as the hotel itself was great.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good. There are rooftop views from the lounge and dining areas, which was a great use of space rather than having these areas at street level. There are also nice views of the river. It was useful having a fridge in the room. More hotels should do this. The location was very good for our plans and very quiet despite its central location.

Not really complaints, but a couple of suggestions/observations: It would be nice to have a television one could cast to. This is a general observation applicable to almost every hotel I have stayed in: more towel rails, please, if reuse of towels is being encouraged.

The breakfast was fantastic, it was great to get the option of having a fry as well as a continental. The location of the hotel was central for the purpose that I needed it for. The Derbion shopping centre was right across the way with plenty of shops to browse and a food court upstairs. The Derby QUAD where I was attending a convention was only 1 minute down the road. The room was amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was spotless, the bath was also a nice size for someone tall like me to fit into.

The only issue was just the level of noise outside on the street made it difficult to sleep on the first night, so perhaps if there would be better ways to soundproof the rooms that would be great, but other than that the level of comfort was great.

When registering I had to pay with my card and when the card machine transaction was completed the receptionist took my card from the handset and started typing the details from my card into the computer behind the counter; I said " I don't normally allow anyone to handle my card" she handed it back to me and said can you read out the last set of the sixteen numbers for me then? And the expiry date! This shouldn't be standard practice as if there's ever any fraud your customers would be passing this information on to the police who would be interested in this practice

Room a lot bigger than expected. Very comfy bed, in a great location of Derby, brilliant breakfast plenty of choice and tasty was included in our room booking. Got told the hotel was been renovated and may be a bit noisy but we didn't hear anything. Helpful friendly staff. Advised us the air con wasn't working but was given a fan which did the trick and a few free cans of water to compensate this issue. Great check in and check out times too. Very clean hotel. Parked at the Derbion basement car park good value at £8 just enter details in the hotel and its discounted as you leave - its contactless. Would definitely return to this hotel again.

We love the fact we can get off a bus at coach station and it is only a few yards from the hotel, also we love the river at the back and the waterfowl that greet us hoping for a morsel there. We also had a lovely river view. The hotel is always spotless and the staff very helpful. Breakfast is always wonderful and plentiful. We have booked many times before and certainly as it is so close to the Derbion centre and other shops and places to visit, such as the cathedral and museum, we will continue to use it. It is going to have a make over soon too.

My sister walks with a crutch and she smokes .She obviously has to go outside . It was a long way from our door even to the lift. We were in room 317 and 318. Its a shame there was not a designated smoking area adjoined to the hotel. She said she felt very uneasy outside at night. There used to be a security man sat at the desk near the entrance/ exit when we started using the hotel years back. But no one there for the last few years now. She said she felt safer then.
