The Windsor Town House is a typically classy Bath sandstone terraced town house with big windows and high ceilings with decorative cornicing. It was good to find a fridge and microwave for our use in the cupboard. The staff were uniformly courteous and helpful, and the included continental breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Although our room was characterful, the decor was tired, and the carpet even more tired - on my side of the bed, there was a large hole and several blemishes. The shabby-chic cabinet opposite the bed had several handles missing from the drawers - shabby-chic is all very well, but not to the extent of missing components. The biggest gripe I have with this accommodation is the "discretionary service charge" they sneak into your bill on check-out. There should be no unpleasant surprises on check-out, and if the hotel wishes to levy a service charge, they should build it into the upfront price.

Breakfast was excellent. I truly love a room that I had my breakfast. And also a house magazine which is I found in a bedroom that has got useful information around Bath. All rooms have a name not number it's new experience for me. Duvet cover sheets and pillow cases are spotless too nice clean and they were bright white.
Housekeeping need more dust, polish furniture and well hover the carpet. Also I think placing tea coffee amenities, a kettle in a cupboard next to my heavy coat wasn't best option. Just place on a table, enough room there.

Great location for this mini break with lovely restaurants & bars local to the Guest House. Nice quiet neighbourhood with loads of character.
Two small issues which are to note but DID NOT spoil our stay. Firstly there is overnight on-street parking between 19.00 and 8.00am which means moving your car early if you have chosen this option. There is a large car park beneath the local Waitrose supermarket which is a 5 min walk away (£15 24 hr stay) which is the better option we found. Secondly - the Guest House do mention in their information that this is a listed building and there is no lift. We had a room on the third floor which was a considerable climb to the top. If you struggle with stairs please request a lower floor - the last flight is particularly steep.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices were varied with a selection of cereals, and hot food including the good old English breakfast as one option and there was no problem with getting extra toast or coffee/tea. The Guest house was ideally situated within walking distance to the centre of town and the many pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes.
The only drawback is the stairs as due to the age of the building there is no lift, but on the other side of the coin it added to the character of the place. We were pre warned about this in the details when booking so not really a problem.

We received a very warm welcome from the chap at The Windsor Townhouse. The room was clean and everything in it was luxurious. The sheets, the shower gel, the juices at breakfast, the food at breakfast were all great quality. All staff were very friendly and helpful. I happily paid the 10% discretionary service charge upon check-out - very much deserved.
I loved everything! Our car park that we chose to park in is a 10 minute walk away from the property, but actually it wasn’t a hassle and it was a pleasant walk in the sunshine.

A very friendly and honest service, nothing was to much trouble. Strongly recommend
One or two minor issues with the room but not worth mentioning. Didn’t spoil the overall experience

We really enjoyed our stay, staff and rooms were lovely. Breakfast was very tasty and service was excellent. Portion sizes were very modest but there was plenty of choice for toast, juice and cereal if still hungry and the house itself was beautiful.
Attention to detail could have been better but only very minor things like making sure rooms had milk/ tea bags, the bathroom could do with some cosmetic work due to age/ mould in the grouting, a cleaning cloth was left in our room. But these did not affect the enjoyment of our stay.

Lovely place.
The ‘included breakfast’ was ridiculous! And virtually non-existent! If you simply wanted decent coffee, you had to buy it extra because the coffee served was brown water. Yougurt was extra. No pastries, a plate of wafer thin slices of fruit, toast I think? We actually didn’t have ANY of the free breakfast the second morning because we still would have had to buy a real coffee later! And they added 10% discretionary service charge to the WHOLE bill - rooms and everything! I didn’t pay this and they were polite about it.

The hosts were welcoming, friendly and informative inspite of us arriving earlier than expected. The hotel is well located about 10 minute easy stroll to the city centre. Car parking was easy in a public car park less than 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. The hotel is well appointed and secure. I received a good guide to the security and it was easy to use. There is no lift but the host assisted us with our case to the room on the second floor. There are rooms on lower floors for the less able. On the ground floor there is a lovely period breakfast room cum lounge and reception. Our room was very comfortable and had all the facilities we could wish for. Wifi was easy to connect to. The bed was very comfortable and the room was airy but warm. The bathroom had a small bath and an effecient shower and was enough for our needs. A good breakfast was included in the room rate and included a small 'fry' and extras were available to preordet at an extra reasonable charge. Toast, tea and cereals were plentiful and there was an excellent selection of fruit juices to choose from. I consider the Windsor a 'find' and if I needed to stay in Bath again would definitely rebook. The decor of the hotel is good, occasional little dings, but nothing to detract from the stay or value. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay and your recommendation of where to have dinner.

Communication with every member of staff from prior to our arrival and right through our stay was friendly, helpful and they were always offering to help in any way they could from storing bags before and after checkin / checkout to advising on parking etc. a lovely approach to customer service. The rooms were clean and well presented, as was the rest of the property. Breakfast was simple but really well cooked, well presented and delicious, with abundant amounts of tea / coffee (including free refills) and toast. Overall, a very positive experience.
Being a period property, and with rooms created within the spaces available, the sound proofing between rooms was not as effective as you will find in a purpose built hotel, so we could hear our neighbours singing, talking and laughing (pleasantly, not raucously) until 3am. This wasn't a great issue for us, but we didn't get quite as restful a sleep as we might otherwise have done.
