The decor, the location, the facilities in each bedroom, loved the bath at the foot of the bed and the shower was brilliant. Quality of cooked breakfast was amazing.
The awkward parking/lack of parking spaces to accommodate for the number of rooms. We stayed for two nights, on the first morning we went to breakfast around 0915 but there were a lot of tables that needed clearing, the coffee machine needed resetting/emptying and there were no cups or glasses left to use for the juice. Seemed to be a bit of a delay with everything or maybe short staffed that morning.

The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and I loved the decor. The bathroom was fantastic. Wonderful shower! In the room it was so good to have tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water and a mini fridge too. The staff were lovely and the general atmosphere nice. Convenient for walking into the town center.
Although not a problem to me during my stay , I do not like 'dogs allowed' in a hotel. It was possible to hear a dog but fortunately it wasn't near my room. Sea-gull noise if the windows are left open! Room a little stuffy so I did but was disturbed from 4am.

Very friendly welcome and explanation of parking, as well as checking if we wanted dinner or breakfast. We requested a bath and were very pleased with the roll top bath we had in the room, as well as separate en-suite. All very clean, good facilities in the room, good comfy bed, and nice little touches like bottles of water, bathrobes and slippers. Excellent location for Cheltenham town centre and especially Montpellier. This was our second stay and we will definitely stay again when visiting the area. I think it is good value for what you get.
My only negative was the pillows which were too soft for me; and the shower could do with a hand-held sprayer as well as a rain head. The car park at the front is small, but plenty of space on the road which was free.

When I arrived I was greeted at reception by Conrad, who efficiently checked me in and carried my bags, and showed me to my room. During my stay I dined at the restaurant the first night. Excellent service and quality and taste of food. The room was beautiful and you can see the attention to detail for your comfort and needs. At checkout, the friendly Melanie checked me out, got me my invoice receipts and was really sweet. Great personality to have front of house.
I wasn't well the next day, and I didn't like the full vegetarian breakfast I had. I'm not sure if it was because I wasn't well but I didn't like the taste of the eggs or vegetarian sausages.

Lovely building, very pleasant and interesting decor and very warm (although obviously they have had some issues with the heating\cooling systems)
Everything was lovely in the rooms and our dinner, with family, was very good and totally unrushed. Staff were all charming although a little more staff training and finesse wouldn’t go amiss. Breakfast was a disaster . The single coffee machine was only working sporadically resulting in long queues . The cold offerings were not very good and no cheese or charcuterie in evidence. We had to go and find someone to take our order for the hot breakfast and this was nearly forty five minutes in coming. Then it was not worth waiting for. Poached eggs hard, bacon, black pudding and sausage inadequately cooked and the whole was only tepid! UGH. When we discussed this at reception they did have the good grace to refund the charge for breakfast.

We had booked two deluxe rooms but accepted an upgrade offer to junior suites which were more spacious and had better views. We also celebrated with 5 of our invited friends with a champagne afternoon tea which was excellent. All staff were friendly and super flexible. The food was delicious and service prompt catering for a mix of vegetarian, gluten free, and non-restricted diets at the same time. The elegant town centre was only 5 minutes walk away yet the hotel and surrounding streets were quiet and peaceful.
No complaints at all.

Most things. Good room, nice staff, good restaurant.
It’s a bug bear of mine, but I asked for two soft boiled eggs for breakfast and along with lots of other hotels I’ve stayed in. I got hard eggs.. also the menu said boiled eggs with soldiers and when it came without soldiers the waitress said we don’t serve it with soldiers and I had to go make my own toast whilst the eggs got cold and even harder. So I read out the menu to her saying two boiled eggs with soldiers and she said but no one’s ever asked for soldiers before. I don’t think that was very good service.

Reception staff where superb, especially the lovely lady just back from maternity leave who was super friendly but professional and welcoming. Restaurant and bars were really lovely and staff there excellent. Breakfast staff were really friendly and welcoming with nothing too much. The breakfast was really good too with great options and a really good quality cooked breakfast.
Only a couple of quibbles - our first room had a broken blind on the window which meant it couldn't be closed so we were given a new room straight away. That room had lightbulbs gone in it. Didn't move again obvs, but housekeeping should have picked these things up. Really HATE the whole bath in the bedroom thing!! Especially when the bedroom isn't particularly large it's just a complete waste of space (except for somewhere to dump the many cushions and throw form the bed!) Little gripes that certainly didn't take away from a lovely stay though

Room: The rooms are spacious and stylish with very comfortable beds and superior quality bed linen. The Nespresso machine is a bonus. The lounge bar is very inviting and a good place to enjoy a quiet drink if you don't want to go to any of the nearby bars. Location: The hotel is in a quiet street in a very elegant part of Cheltenham and only a few minutes' walk from some very nice bars, pubs, restaurants and shops - there's plenty of parking too. Staff: The staff are unfailingly professional. I've stayed numerous times now and the staff are consistently excellent - both friendly, courteous and professional.
If you go expecting a gym, you will be disappointed - there isn't one. But you should know that when you book. I understand that the wine list isn't as good as it once was but it's still good. And you can always have a cocktail instead!

Great location - quiet spot but only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Spacious lounge/bar area and lovely downstairs dining area with optional outdoor seating. Fantastic room - we splashed out on a junior suite for a birthday celebration. Great room (Lallier Suite) with a super-sized bathroom - twin wash basins, twin showers and two bath tubs! Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful - we look forward to our next stay at the Hotel du Vin.
Nothing not to like really. Lighting above the bathroom sinks was quite subdued which made it tricky to apply make-up.
