The room was very comfortable. Very clean and lots of hot water for a deep bath. The gentleman on reception was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He also served breakfast. The breakfast was exceptional, lovely fresh fruit and yoghurt. Then a delicious hot cooked breakfast. I couldn't fault it.

I didn't realise there was coffee making facilities as it was hidden in a cupboard, but there were ample supplies. If I tried hard to think of anything negative then I would say the TV was quite small. But it worked and was grateful to have this facility.

The hotel was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Not too far from the Racetrack for the Horse racing so an ideal location. Uber taxis were quick and not too expensive to get to the course. Check in was quick and easy and the parking was ideal.

The duvet on the bed wasn't big enough for the bed. Two single beds had been put together so it wasn't the most comfortable as you had to sleep in the middle of the bed to be under the duvet. There was confusion on checking out about the bar bill from the previous night as we had settled our bill at the end of the night and we were then asked again to settle it when we checked out, so make sure you get a receipt for your payment as it could have been embarrassing if other guests had been around at the time. Otherwise I would recommend The hotel for a comfortable stay.

Exceptional welcome and flexibility. I was allowed to arrive for breakfast for 9:30 even though that was the end of the official breakfast time. This enabled me to do the Parkrun which was an important part of my visit. I was also able to choose a room which very rarely happens and this enabled me to choose a back facing room away from the roar of the traffic. Again, so much appreciated.

The only negative aspect was the assumption that everyone likes to listen to music / radio whilst eating. I prefer the quiet and so consideration to this must be thought through so that guests can dine in peace.

This is essentially a bed and breakfast property and is what you would expect for the price. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and tidy and undergoing improvement. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom was excellent. The bed and linen were of good quality and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.

The property does not have a lift which was fine for me but would not be good for people with accessibility issues. There is no air-conditioning which is ok for England mostly but I imagine if there were a hot day it would not be too comfortable.

Most things - the friendly welcome; the location; the lovely comfortable bed; the powerful shower and premium toiletries; the free parking; and the price.

Breakfast at 10.50 a person is a bit steep - we had breakfast the first time we stayed and the food was very nice, but the coffee wasn't the best. We found a cafe round the corner that is cheaper, has lots of choice and really good coffee. Some decaf options on the hospitality tray would also be nice. These things would not prevent us from staying - it's still our first choice when we visit Wolverhampton.

The room & en-suit bathroom were small but clean, as was the bed which was comfortable. Although the duvet (or whatever it was) looked thin it was surprisingly warm. I cannot comment on the cooked food they serve as I only had toast & cerial for breakfast. No too far from the Halls where the gig was.

Having a 1st floor room meant that the eves of the building restricted the headroom is places, while this was OK over the bed as you would not be standing, the sloaping headroom of the shower cubical made me feel like I had to be stay over higher side. At 5'7" the higher end of the shower was OK for me but a taller person may fell a little boxed in.

- As with all hotel showers, practically requires a degree in theoretical physics to figure out and it’s a very small shower - No plug/USB/power sockets near the bed - makes charging your phone and using it at the same time tricky. Not a problem for me as I had a laptop with long charger but something to bear in mind

The hotel is my former school! It is well located being close to town but in a quieter district. This was our second stay here. We had a very warm welcome at reception and our room in the annexe was clean and very comfortable. The bed was amazingly comfortable! I had my best night's sleep in a long time. This hotel is always our first choice when we visit Wolverhampton.

Only minor points: we would have preferred a walk in shower as we found the bath a bit difficult to clamber in and out of. The stairs were a bit tricky as there were odd steps where we didn't expect them - no doubt a feature, but these could do with a warning sign. We didn't have breakfast - we did have it on a previous stay, and it was very nice, but the price was a bit steep - so we got our breakfast at the nearby Chapel Ash Grill. But we would definitely book an overnight stay here again.

Levels of comfort - great bed and nice big room. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Convenient location - close to the city centre. Free parking on site which is a rarity. We usually stay here when we visit Wolverhampton. I used to be a pupil here years ago - the first time we stayed we were given the headmistress's old office so I could relive old times!

Nothing not to like. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel on the day we left because we planned to eat en route.

Great location and a beautiful period property. Grand room for breakfast, an interesting lounge and ample parking. The man at reception (who also served breakfast) deserves a special mention. He was excellent, providing a warm welcome and being very helpful throughout. He is a credit to the hotel and makes a difference, even providing advice on an alternative route home that proved to be very good advice!

Double bed is a standard size. I prefer a king size .
