I loved the Mountain View, Customer Service & the food at The Kraal.

I didn’t like a number of things about our room. Firstly, The furniture in the picture advertised is very different from what we actually got. What we got was way less glamorous. The cupboards are chipped, especially inside when you open the the door that covers the bar fridge-the fridge wasn’t even cold. The glass tables have scratches, the paintwork is of sub-par quality, the painter painted the skirting on the tiles in the bathroom and no one bothered to wipe that paint off. Structurally, the toilet has no window, so if you poop you basically stink up the whole room. 😩 The toilet seat is old and when it’s lifted you can see the brown wood protruding out of it. Yuck! The gowns weren’t white… I could go on but the room quality needs a huge improvement!

The view from our room was beautiful, and we woke to the sounds of nature and watched the sunset from our private balcony. We indulged in great-quality meals, and the portions were big. With a buffet breakfast and bottomless mimosas, you have a wide variety of choices. We booked too late for the anniversary package however they went the extra mile to make us feel special. they placed a handwritten card and balloons on arrival and the restaurant surprised us with an awesome dessert to celebrate us. And the stuff took the time to make us feel welcome by greeting us with hugs and making small talk even though it was pretty busy, just makes one feel valued.

The toilet in our room had no ventilation. I think they can look into installing ventilation fans since there is no space for a window

I liked the behavior and the pattern of the staff members. They were very friendly. They were very loving. They were very accommodating. They treated us like important people that you were above everything. I enjoyed my 30th birthday because of your staff Thaba Eco. I am so happy about the service that I’ve got from the very first time I made a booking I received communication. I never struggled with communication, everything was running smooth to my arrival day to all the services the food from both the Eva and the crawl. They were delicious the warm welcome you. I can say a lot about your guys. I really enjoyed my stay and I’m looking forward to coming back, my husband sent his regards to. He is so happy about it Thank you thank you thank you.

Not that I wanted to talk about it, but it was just a slight just a slight small behavior that I saw being displayed by the ladies who are doing housekeeping I think that they were having a little bit issue concerning Patience . They were not patient enough, but it wasn’t that bad but but , that’s a little I wanna say

The nature around it is stunning, it's quiet and peaceful. The staff is quite helpful and friendly. I loved the daily housekeeping, I didn't lose any of my possessions. I went there for a birthday trip and they sure made it special by giving me a complimentary dessert with a happy birthday written on it, when I went back to my room that evening I found a balloon, chocolates and a card from the Thaba Eco Staff, that was so thoughtful and sweet, I liked that.

There was no hand wash in the bathroom, had to use a body soap to wash hands every time I went to the bathroom. The furniture seems a bit old, the cupboard wasn't closing properly. The weekday's breakfast menu sucked, it lacked variety. I struggled to decide what to eat every morning because 90% of the menu is what I don't like eating. Something should be done about that.

The breakfast buffet was the highlight of our stay, and possibly the best during our 2,5 week trip in South Africa. The Resort itself has nice and large grounds, and is very well kept - better than the rooms themselves. Next door "Klipriviersberg" nature area was great for hiking (cheap Uber to get there), and a great alternative to the (a bit overpriced) tours the resort offer in their own nature area.

Room facilities are a bit dated and worn and can do with a refresh. "Eco" seems to refer mostly on having the nature area of the resort, not to the resort itself focusing on environmental practices in particular

Wonderful Hotel with a fantastic restaurant and spa. Very friendly staff and spacious rooms with everything you need.

Lacking a bit of maintenance. Our bathroom door was not closing properly and upon arrival we had issues with our inroom phone and Internet. However, a technician came the next day and sorted everything out. And lastly, the restaurant, as amazing as it was gave me food poisoning on my last meal. This was unfortunate as all of the other meals were beyond expectation. Their manage did take my details and say they would investigate the cause and revert to me. But overall it was a lovely stay.

Our stay at Thaba was pleasant. Here are three things that stood out for us: 1. Very friendly and respectful staff. Tiza, Mandisa, Entle and the gentlemen that drove us on the golf cars especially made our stay comfortable. 2. Our complaint about one of the dinners was taken seriously, and the manager was kind enough to resolve. 3. The location is perfect if you want to explore Sandton and Soweto. It took us less than 30 minutes to get to the respective locations.

What we did not really like: 1. Inconsistencies in room servicing. There were things missing ie robes and laundry bags, and so we had to keep calling RS to replace. 2. Although the breakfast menu was appealing, the greek yogurt was not good on our 2nd day. We immediately gagged after one spoon. 3. The rooms could use some refurbishing ie mouldy bathroom. The infrastructure is outdated for a 4 star hotel.

Breakfast: The breakfast was a delightful experience. The spread offered a variety of options, I particularly enjoyed the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. The staff was attentive and ensured that all dietary preferences were accommodated. Room: The room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. The decor was modern yet cozy, creating a comfortable environment for relaxation. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the views were amazing. Dinner: The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was impressive. I appreciated the local dishes on the menu, which added to the authenticity of the dining experience. What I Liked: The attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The serene ambiance and beautiful natural surroundings of the hotel. The commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices, evident in every aspect of the hotel's operations. The excellent value for money, considering the high-quality amenities and services provided.

Breakfast was good, particularly the room service. I needed rest and the room service gave me a sense of rest. The room was beautiful. They could change the gowns regularly and clean a lot better. I'll go back, definitely. Friendly staff.

The gowns were never changed for the 3 days that we stayed, the room was not cleaned well. The was an empty water bottle when we arrived, room was cleaned on our day 2 and the water bottle was still there. For service room services, our order was not complete in day two. The staff had to go back for bread and hot beverages, not a nice feeling to witness the ups and down.

The rooms are great. The room we stayed in had an amazing view, was comfy and spacious. The grounds are also excellent, very much outdoors and gives you a sense of being out in nature. The staff were great. Always attentive, offering go kart rides between locations.

The restaurant was a little underwhelming. The breakfast options are good. The diner menu has some great options but the actual food itself was okay. The way they handle the confirmation of EFT payments can be done better. I was still being asked if I had paid for the booking when I was leaving when I had sent the EFT (and proof of payment) days before arriving.
