Hotel Bilbao Plaza is a fantastic choice for those looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the heart of Bilbao. The hotel is located in a prime spot, just a short walk from the city’s main attractions, including the Guggenheim Museum and the historic Casco Viejo. The room was spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. It is a perfect base from which to explore the city and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located, and well-priced hotel in Bilbao.

The reception staff spoke English and was actively trying to be helpful and informative, unlike most of the staff in the Restaurants and Cafes in the city, which made the hotel staff exceptionally impressive, they actually seemed to care about our experience. They were also happy to serve you coffee even at 06:30 in the morning (before breakfast). Speaking of breakfast, we chose to not have it, but at one point we saw people eat and the food seemed simple, yet very appetizing and probably tasted great (just like most food in Bilbao) The hotel's inner layout prioritized room size to hallway size, so it seems really small and tight until you enter your room and find a large double bed with plenty of space and a great view (our room was overlooking the river). The noise from the street was barely noticeable and we slept peacefully at night. The bathroom was a little small, but it fulfilled its purpose. The location of the hotel is perfect. Depending on where you need to go, there is a bus station ~20meters away from the entrance and also a metro station in a 3-4min walking radius, if you're headed to the city center, you can get there in 10-15min on foot over the Zubizuri.

I realize it's a minor detail, has nothing to do with the quality of the stay, and it was also probably the fastest and most effective choice at the time, but the door handle at the hotel entrance is held open by a wine bottle cork, surely there is a more elegant way to solve the problem, it just seemed silly.

Great location and vista from the rooms towards the river. Easy stroll to old town with a lovely park for a drink and people watching in the evenings. Access to bridges close by to reach other parks of Bilbao. Bilbao was a great city to visit. The room was clean, a good size and staff were friendly ( we appreciated that we were able to check in late morning when we arrived from our flight.) Hope to come back some day.

Difficult to sit up in bed comfortably because of the headboard. However, we didn’t come to Bilbao to sit about in bed!

We were there for one day, it was great for the purpose, just a quick trip day + remote work. I wanted to make this review specially for the unforgettable staff. The people who assist us were always 5 stars - with the garage car parking situation, with last minute help with specific concerns, suggestions ands tips for Bilbao, and even a late tea (which I was feeling super sick and there was nothing open). I have to say: TOP location and TOP staff, the hotel itself is ok.

Wi-Fi does not work on mobile (never understood why).

This hotel is in a great location for exploring the old town in Bilbao and all of the major tourist attractions including the Guggenheim. We have stayed there before and we're very happy to return. It's a good value tourist hotel with nice breakfast and very friendly staff.

I love the location of the hotel as it is right across the river which is so lovely during dusk/night time. The room that we got is very spacious and has a view of the river.

It would be nice to have a bidet in the toilet. Also, we had to buy our own drinking water.

"My" hotel in Bilbao. 24/7 friendly, helpful reception, good location and not above a square, cafe or other places where noise is more than the usual city level.

Excellent location for the museum. Easy walking to the centre. Great service. Enjoyed the breakfast!

No view with the room

Everything. Lovely warm welcome, was able to check in early. Room cleaned every every day, even though we did not vacate room early each morning. Staff were absolutely amazing, were so helpful and friendly. Location could not have been better. Close to old and new town, Funicular and museums, will definitely recommend. We did upgrade to room to a river view.

Would have like a fridge in room.
