On entering the hotel,the reception was directly in front of me,and the gentleman ( Sydney) behind the counter was very pleasant and welcoming. Check-in was very quick, and I was allocated room 404 on the top floor. The room was nice, clean,and was a good size for me. It would be a "bit cosy" for 2 people with not much room around the double bed. The balcony was excellent,about 12 feet square,with a table and 2 chairs. It got sun all day from 8.30 until 4 pm when the sun went behind part of the hotel. This was between November 16th and 23rd If you are interested in staying at this hotel,I would ask for room 404 or 405 when boooking, because of the size of the balconies and catching the sun all day long. Cleaning was every day, with towels changed daily. Breakfast was very good with a good choice of hot and cold food. All the staff ( too many to name) were all very pleasant, and a special mention should go to Sidney,Joanna and Karina at reception for all their help with my enquiries I enjoyed Finnergans Bar, Os Canteiros cafe/restaurant, which serves a large beer and tapas for €3, as well as a good menu list,also a small cafe in the square outside the hotel called Bar Balpanisos (?,it is the first one on the right). That small restaurant serves very good plata del dia,with menu changed daily. Bus 35 to Palma is €2 each way,and they are about every 20 minutes,taking 35 minutes to get there . The stop is less than 5 minutes stroll from the hotel.

This is an older family run character hotel with incredible charm and personality. The service from the staff is above exceptional. Sidney's charm and willingness to ensure that every aspect of your stay through the day exceeds expectations made me feel welcome and safe as a female solo traveler. Corinna anchored the night shift in a like manner. The breakfast was amazing every morning. I have stayed in hotels with higher star ratings where the included breakfast was not worth getting up for. There is artwork hung throughout the original spiral marrble and iron stairwells. Beautiful! The location can't be beater, 3 minutes walk to miles of stunning beaches, restaurants and amenities. Hotel Balear is a hidden gem. A 3.5 star hotel offering 5 star service all the way. You will not be disappointed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There is no ice available anywhere, even from the kitchen. Then again, ice doesn't seem to be used a lot anywhere on the island, ice lovers aware.😁

Hotel Balear situated right on the beach Can Pastilla area. Extremely nice service at the reception. I really appreciate the receptionist Katrin who is a very professional person and who welcomed Us very warmly on the day of our arrival. Hotel very clean and breakfasts in the style of Spanish cuisine very tasty,and every day different additions which never made breakfasts boring. Hotel service excellent! Staying at the hotel was a pleasure and I can certainly recommend Hotel Balear to everyone who wants to visit Palma de Mallorca. Can Pastilla will definitely remain one of my favorite places. If you feel like stopping in this place without hesitation you can book your stay at Hotel Balear, you will definitely be 100% satisfied!!! I recommend !!!

Lovely and helpful staff, who understood my need for late check in & check out as I was only staying 1 night for a connecting flight. I was even allowed to use the shower at their facilities after I had checked out (Checkout was at lunchtime, 12pm - I picked up my bags from reception & had a shower before going to the airport at 5pm) - This allowed for a lovely and relaxing afternoon spent on the beach. The location of the hotel was excellent for a flight-layover stay - it is a 10 minute drive (40 minute walk) from the airport - and a 5 minute walk from the beach & promenade. The hotel itself is sitting on a little market square of the old town of Ca'n Pastilla, with big balconies overlooking the busy farmers market in the morning. This view gives a surprising "Emily-In-Paris" style Old-town-charm instead of the busy Hotels overlooking the sea. In the surrounding streets you will also find Coffee Shops, Bakeries & Tapas Bars.

Couldnt have been better. Facilities at the Hotel are exactly what you need but limited to the essentials, no faff: this is not the type of Hotel where you'd stay your entire time indoors. Would recommend this place for Independent Explorers & Spontaneous Visitors to the town & the beach.

I loved my stay at Hotel Balear. The staff is very accommodating and will help you, whether you need instructions on best places to visit, renting out a car or even calling a doctor for you if you are feeling under the weather. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and the noise pollution was non-existant. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay here, whether it's a short or a long term stay.

I think that the free internet service could slightly be better, it worked perfectly for my laptop, not so much for my phone.

it was very close to airport. we had our last night in Palma before leaving at 7.30 am. we got there early as had to drop off hide car first - do NOT attempt driving there as streets are narrow and busy and there is no parking anywhere. we took a taxi from airport to hotel and were able to leave our luggage in a secure room while we explored Palma (room wasn’t ready until 2 pm which is fair enough). The young staff member at reception was very friendly and very helpful, explained on a map what we should see and how to get into the city (bus 35). the rooms were very comfortable, we were 5 people and had a triple and a double room, all had renovated bathrooms. There was a soap holder on the wall to the bath/shower but no shampoo/conditioner or body lotion. The rooms had a small bar fridge. Beds very comfortable and we didn’t find it loud like in some other comments. very close walking distance to restaurants and the beach if you like to swim at city beaches. the hotel had a great charm to it, lots of amazing paintings and other figurines, it also has a surprisingly large, comfortable and empty lounge area. Definitely would stay there again.

it would have been nice to have a few small bottles of shampoo, conditioner and other bathroom necessities given it’s close to the airport and people are likely to stay there for short periods with their bags still packed.

Cool location, not so far from the airport, but still close to restaurants and the beach. Loved the stuff, such genuine and kind people. The interior of the hotel is nice too, l love the historical references.

It feels like this hotel just needs a breath of fresh air, some small but significant improvements. Such as… well, I’d rather not have the fridge in the room than have that exact one which was in the room - big, not so clean and so old that it was making those terrible sounds, and I had to switch it off at night because it was scaring me. It would be great to have some free fresh water upon arrival in the 3 stars hotel. I also didn’t like the way the bed was made there - I mean not having a duvet cover, just a simple sheet, and the whole blanket is ‘naked’….. felt more like a hostel, or a train, but not like 3 stars. I’ve only stayed 1 night, but I’m sure I could find some more imperfections.

We spent only one night but really enjoy it. Room was spacious, huge balcony, bathroom was big and with two sinks. Blackout curtains worked perfectly. Breakfast very good even my vegan husband was satisfied. Location just in the center. everything you need few meters away. Maybe not good for people wanting some rest and quiet. Children playground around the corner.

Some reviews mentioned outdated and old, but we really liked the vibe and atmosphere in hotel. And since we spent only one night there is really nothing to complain about.

As soon as you enter this hotel you are met with a warm greeting. It is immaculate and has an ambiance of home, comfort and more. Everywhere you walk has a little something to catch your eye. There is an area to sit and relax, watch TV and have a cup of coffee if you wish. There is a lift that goes down to the dining room from the lounge for anyone who finds the stairs difficult. There are of course lifts to the other floors. Our rooms, a suite, were so spacious, the beds were very comfy, the bathroom, oh the bathroom, I could have lived in there, each area was a contained space, toilet and sink, a shower area and another area with a larger sink, an abundance of towels. I can happily also say that Hotel Balear caters for the disabled but you wouldn't know it as it is so discreet. The breakfast was a buffet of everything you could imagine, hot and cold and sweet pastries. It is close to the beach and surrounded by shops and cafes. The bus stop is not far, a few minutes only. Palma is approximately a 20 minute bus ride and we got a taxi to the airport which was not far and around 17 euro for 2 people and 2 cases. If you ever go to Can Pastilla you would not be disappointed in booking this hotel, it is a hotel to be appreciated, loved and enjoyed. If I can go back to Majorca, this is where I would stay.

Our flight was cancelled & the hotel was near the airport & a great base for our ‘extra’ time in Spain. The hotel was quite amazing inside, nothing that you would expect from the size of the entrance! Super clean & quite modern inside, the breakfast room is downstairs & was very well set out & bright & airy, the food was excellent!!! Our room was a little dated, the en-suite was lovely & modern, but there was a fridge, good air con & a nice comfortable bed. Definitely worth its 3 stars & was absolutely perfect for our needs at a good price too. All the staff were lovely, very helpful & very accommodating. … Excelente! Muchas gracias!
