Location was great, just below the Mercato! Great place to eat and drink. Town is so close and with so many bar options to chose from, it was difficult to choose at times. Bed was good. Coffee machine on 1st floor landing was handy. Small view of garden - a huge tree was right outside our window. Great to have room serviced each day if required as well. Lovely staff. So helpful. Maybe offer earplugs for the warmer nights 😊
Realising that Spaniards party well into the small hours of the night was not on my radar, so not having aircon meant having the windows open for some airflow & not sleeping due to the café 2 doors down serving customers well into the wee hours of the morning on their huge outdoor terraced area. Luckily I realised the column fan in the room blew air - not hot air - so night 2, meant windows closed; fan on; noise blocked. Apart from having to reset the fan every 2 hours it worked ok. Be good to know before you book that you need to go to another hotel (up the stairs towards the markets and then to the closest hotel) to check in & retrieve the keycard for your room.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. From before we got there, the information about the buses and getting there was very helpful. The rooms are very well decorated and spotlessly clean. Lovely view from the second floor rear room. One night we had very heavy rain and whilst we were out having dinner there was a leak in the ceiling. The staff dealt with it really well and let themselves in and cleaned up before we got back. They gave us breakfast the following morning, which was kind but unnecessary.
It's a real shame but I have to mention the noise. This is the only reason it's been given an 8 instead of a 10 as it did affect our sleep. There is a bar two doors down that has a large covered area out the back that seats 300 people and is open until 4am every night. The first night was still fiesta so we ignored it, but the noise was every night. Quite loud with cheering, singing, shouting etc which did affect my sleep. One night there was loud live music until gone 3am. We booked a room facing the rear because we read reviews that said the front was noisy because of the road. I don't think the road is busy late at night I think the rear facing rooms, which are more expensive, would be louder. If it's hot you can't close the windows because there's no AC. There is a fan.

Location just by the market! Spacious room in lovely building Very nice receptionist (in Altavista Hotel) and cleaning staff The hotel accepted my leaving early & refunded - thank you!
Had I known that there is a daily party till 2 am a few buildings along, I would not have booked the place. Also, the entire Hotel seems to have seen better days and there is a lack of attention to details, i.e. coffee in the room with no coffee machine. It's on the 1st floor corridor; the soap container contains body milk etc. The garden could be a gem... But is not

Central hotel within a short walk to the Cathedral and close to lots of bars and restaurants.
Picking up the keys at a separate property was fine but there often wasn't a staff member in our building when we had a question or query. Also when I booked I was under the impression our room looked out into the garden space because of the photos accompanying the room details but when we arrived it looked out onto the main road which was quite noisy especially at night when people were leaving the bar a few doors down.

A traditional Spanish house with a pretty little garden where you can enjoy some peace even though you are right in the centre of Santiago. Even though you pick the key up at a nearby hotel it is straightforward and you can easily contact those staff by phone if you need anything. 2min walk to the bus stop for the 6a airport bus and 2mins from the market and plenty of places to eat and drink. Clean and comfortable room and bed and modern bathroom.

The staff are marvelous. The gut who checked me in very very helpful and the maid service was impeccable. My room, on the street was comfortable and pretty quiet. I think the “garden” rooms” which. I saw in the morning may be worth the extra money. But the location across the street from the mercado is terrific and the room was large with a great bathroom.

The staff were very helpful but are located at a different Hotel 300m away. They were kind enough to keep our luggage while we walked the Camino. Room and general area was very neat.
Battled with the coffee machine which is located in the landing on each floor. An idiots guide to working it would help. At one stage we were the united nations trying to figure it out as other guests had the same problem.

Great location, loved the large room with the big windows over looking the courtyard and the large closet. Overall the linens and floors were very clean.
The room could benefit from a deep clean (bedroom walls and bathroom tiles, floors, walls scrubbed and descaled) and the water warped ceiling boards could be replaced. This did not detract from the stay, but it takes away from the ambiance.

We stayed here for three nights, the room was lovely and very comfortable, just in front of Mercado de Abastos (where you can find plenty incredible places to drink and have an Albariño). Maria from front desk was incredible, kind and helpful; she gave us all the tips of what to do, what to eat, what to see and where too eat. Definitely recommended. Ps. The posada is next to a bakery called “Confiteria Caylo” where you can get one of the best empanadas galegas you will ever eat ever, amazing bread and chocolate mini croissants.
