I am absolutely blown away by how they not only have a phenomenal hotel that I consider to be a definite 5 star * but everything, and I mean right down to the finest accommodations, the cleanliness,the atmosphere and the service was above and beyond! From the very start of choosing this hotel, I just knew, just knew in my heart and in my gut which is always my go-to instinct, that I was going to love this place. The deciding factor was the ongoing response and constant contact that my conversations were heard and welcomed. David is by far the heart and soul of this.His standard of human kindness was always a natural response , and it seems to have gone away.He has restored and brought it here , and it truly makes a difference.I would choose this place, hands down, every time.I would be neglectful if I didn't mention Julia, who helped so much and in her humbling way ,would give all of the credits to David! How refreshing it is to encounter that! As the restaurant was beautiful, the food was delicious, the presentation was meticulously executed, and my server both times was Hubert, so kudos to the restaurant as well .Thank you all again, and I apologize for not having the names of all that helped achieve this amazing experience. What's not to like!

Location was perfect, lovely building outside, smart and modern inside. Fantastic shower, good quality toiletries provided. Was worried about the room temperature after the other reviews but it was fine and the system was adjustable. There is so much to do close by but there is also a tram stop right outside, the hotel provides you with the Basel card so you can get right across the city quickly for free. The hotel is only 30mins from the airport in total using the free bus (no. 50) and tram (no.8)

Nothing not to like for us, ongoing construction work outside and trams going past, but it is a city location! Be prepared, Basel is not cheap 🤣

Location was great, Staff weee friendly and helpful, room was spacious, clean and comfortable. And provided allergen friendly bedding and power adaptor upon request. Christmas dinner was excellent. The restaurant catered to some small changes requested prior to the dinner. Food quality and quantity was very tasty and satisfying. Well worth it for the special occasion.

As we arrived early we could not check in, but when we did we were no given the usual information that all others guests received. When asking about breakfast we were given the incorrect information and arrived shortly after breakfast service had ended. The breakfast was limited and not value for money. There never seemed like there was time for the staff to serve us, even though we gave allowance for the holiday season.

Wellness facility was nice. Location and plentiful water was great. Roof terrace was beautiful

Would have enjoyed a bar on the roof terrace. Rooms were very hot with windows closed and unbearably noisy with construction through the night with windows open.

We loved our stay in Basel! The location of the hotel couldn’t be better and the team at the reception was super helpful and professional. Also a special thank you to Ms Raquel and colleagues for keeping our room in order and for their kindness. We loved our room, it was well equipped and comfortable. The Bohemia restaurant was beautifully decorated and the food was great.

I think the area in which there is room for improvement is at the Bohemia restaurant. We felt during breakfast it was a bit chaotic and space constrained. We struggled to get reservations for dinner (it would be best to give a heads up to the hotel guests to reserve upon arrival). There was also an instance in which, even though our breakfast was included, we were not allowed to enter. We arrived, then waited at the entrance to check-in for breakfast, and were told we had gone over the 10 o’clock limit. In fact, it was a few minutes before 10:00, plenty of people were still having breakfast inside, but we didn’t want to make the experience more negative, so we went out for breakfast. In summary, the staff at the restaurant was working hard but clearly a bit overwhelmed with the demand.

Due to another flight cancellation I booked the hotel on our train ride to Basel. 1 hour later, we arrived, checked in a little early without any problem at all. We got off the tram right outside coming from Basel SBB couldn’t be any easier. the reception Johram and his colleague was wonderful and super helpful, throughout the entire stay. The property and room are beautiful, super clean, and very comfortable. Complimentary nespresso and mini bar was an icing on the cake. The complimentary hot and steam sauna was very much relaxing and needed after all those flight cancellations stress. Bohemia restaurant on site was delicious and beautiful. I would return. Nothing, really. The bulding in front of my hotel window was under construction, I was worried it was going to be noisy but fortunately they weren’t working during my stay.

Very nice hotel building, excellent staff, good breakfast and also best location in Basel. I need to mention also the gym, the spa (free) and the room amenities : good quality slippers and bathrobes, Molton Brown body care. First we got a room on the front side of the hotel - the street side right to the train lines. Because we couldn’t stand the noise we kindly asked the receptionist to give us a quiet room. First they hadn’t a free room but they found in one hour and did their best to help us. We want to thank them for that.

The gentleman who checked us in and out was extremely friendly and helpful in making us feel welcome. He made an excellent recommendation for dinner at the Restaurant Fiorentina Basel which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and offers riverside tables overlooking the Rhine, not to mention excellent Italian cuisine. The hotel provides vouchers for free public transportation on the trams that run directly in front of the hotel and to the Kunstmuseum Basel, which is a short ride away via the tram. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. Breakfast in the attached bar/restaurant was tasty and plentiful but you can also have made to order omelets, etc. at an additional cost. The hotel also offers free saunas which we didn’t have time to use.

The hotel is a little pricey but so is everything else in Switzerland and you pay for what you get. A quality hotel and great location in an enchanting and historic city.

Location was great. Close to everything. The restaurant was great! Service was very professional and the food was amazing. We split a T-bone meal which was absolutely amazing! So was the pumpkin soup! I wish I had their recipe! Room was very nice with a great view. The shower was the best out of all the places we stayed in Europe (6 weeks of travel)!

Nothing. We were a little worried about the couple of steps in our room but they light up at night if you are walking to them to use the bathroom so there was no issue. It added some style and charm. Everything was wonderful.

Everything. From the location of the hotel to the really really nice staff, to the modern design of the hotel. It was so easy to get from one place to another because the trams all stopped a few steps away from our hotel. We had a problem with booking.com tbh, because they cancelled our booking while I was mid flight. I opened my phone to find out that our booking had been cancelled. I had to call the hotel to ensure that our booking was still secure because really, we had no where else to stay. I was so appreciative that they held on to our booking because they too were surprised about the sudden cancellation. The staff assisted us the entire time and were so gracious and pleasant to coordinate with. From this, to the check in, to the check out..everything was perfect. I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a pleasant stay in Basel.

Some rooms had stairs. Unfortunately, due to its design, many times you are unable to see that the stairs are there. Maybe put some sort of tape on the floor? Some seniors who I was traveling with almost fell a few times due to their poor eyesight. But even me, there were times, I would almost miss the first step. Hopefully, you could fix this to avoid possible accidents from happening? Just a suggestion.
