As is typical for Ibis Budget, the bathroom was split into a shower, toilet stall and sink in the room which is quire practical and time efficient. There was a also some storage available. I think the best thing about the hotel is the conveninent location near the Basel SBB train station and between two tram stops. The breakfast is really reasonably priced, even if somewhat basic. It was relatively clean but can we please also get face towels and some place to hang them?

The windows don't open and there is no way to let any fresh air inside the room. According to the sign on the door this is due to some environmental regulations of the city of Basel but I find it explanation somewhat insufficient considering we could see that the guests of the Novotel on the opposite end of the building could open their windows.

Very friendly staff at the desk. We were greeted very friendly every single day. We were allowed to check-in early, which was very nice because we arrived very early. Also check-out time is very nice, in case you have a late flight. You can book a simple breakfast at a good price. Clean room, nice shower. The room is tidied every day. We wanted to sleep in, because we had a late flight. However, there were several knocks on the door, to see if we had already checked-out.

No option to have some dinner in the evening. You can eat something at the other Ibis hotel around the corner, but there was no take away option. It was very hot in the room, but you can ask to open the window at the reception desk. You can't open the window by yourself, so ask them.

The hotel location is nice, close to the city center and the train station. You can reach the city transportation vehicles around the hotel. You can use all the city vehicles for free with the Basel Cards you will get from the hotel. It also offers discounts of up to 50% in museums. The hotel staff is very attentive, they contacted me before I even arrived at the hotel and completed all our registration procedures before I even arrived at the hotel. I did not wait at all during check-in. The rooms are clean and quiet, we were comfortable. Everything is perfect. Thank you.

No complaints, just a little information. The rooms may be a little small for a family. However, I think it is great for small groups of friends and couples. Since I stayed with my family for a short time, it was not a big problem.

close to trams and walking distance (approx 1km) from Banhoff Basel SBB (using the covered bicycle lane passing through University of Basel Faculty of Economics. Room was very clean, and we were given 2 opposite rooms (we were 2 families checking in all in all), separated by a separate door from other rooms, which was great as we had kids and the sound of our kids playing were contained at our end. We were given Basel City Cards at checkin which provided us with free transport around the city for the entire duration of our stay (it also provided discounted prices to museums). We used this to use the Airport Bus from Banhoff SBB which was less than a 20min drive to the departures area of the airport. Also had the facility of early online checkin and express checkout

could have wished for a cleaner common toilet- i think somebody was sick late in the evening at one of the cubicles in the comment toilets at the ground floor/reception (probably no cleaners?).. not a deal breaker as we had our own toilet in the rooms anyways. Also the cleaning lady got to our rooms at the evening when we were back (around 5pm), so didn't get the chance to clean our room- not a deal breaker as the room was not in anyway a mess. She was very generous when we asked for a new rug.

Stayed there only for one night but it was a pleasant experience! Located near to the train station (~3 stops of tram). To get to the center and to the hotel we were gifted free transport card for the period of our stay which was very convenient. Everyone was very welcoming. Not much space to place staff, but it wasn’t a problem for us. The room is clean and warm. You can leave your baggages in the hotel which was very convenient for us.

We booked the room for two people but it accommodate three - that’s why the bed was double-decker - we hit our heads several times :) The shower is isolated for bed by a transparent door and a curtain so be aware of possible inconvenience. The teakettle and some plates will be appreciated

My stay at the Ibis Budget Hotel was absolutely delightful. The hotel itself offers a very decent standard and, considering Basel’s usual prices, is attractively priced. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service. I encountered some travel- and luggage-related issues (unrelated to the hotel), and the staff went above and beyond to assist me. They were incredibly helpful, exceptionally kind, and genuinely attentive. I was deeply impressed by how accommodating and friendly the hotel team was. This was, without a doubt, my best experience with hotel service in recent years—and I travel a lot. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team! I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return many times in the future while visiting Basel.

Everything was perfect!

Good location, not far from the train station and some tram stops nearby. The window in the room had blinds. Beautiful view of the mountains. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of options both sweet and savoury, meat and vegetarian, and a choice of plant based milks. Staff were always there and refilled everything even as breakfast was almost over. There was a lounge on the ground floor with a microwave and some vending machines with snacks and coffee.

The room was quite small, no space for an open suitcase. There were only a couple of hangers and other than that no wardrobe. The shower doors were awkward. My window was from the side of the station which meant that I could hear the noise from the trains and from the traffic.

Everything was very ok for the short notice booking. The room was as the picture describes it, the only thing was that you couldn't open any kind of window and the air was unbearable due to the fact that it's a tiny room and we didn't manage to get the AC working. The location is good. Staff was friendly.

There was a good price/quality ratio. The room was clean, with an emphasis on the towels and bed sheets, which were quite nice. It's a walkable distance from the train station, and the staff was friendly and helpful! A nice plus to the trip was the card offered at the reception which gives you a price reduction throughout Basel, I didn't have the time quite to enjoy it all but the half fare to some museum was more than welcomed!

Since the hotel is so close to the train rails, even on the fifth floor you can hear the trains quite well but it wasn't horrible. The toilet and sink could have been cleaner, but overall quite decent for the price I paid.

Perfect location close to the main railway station (10 min walk), 2 tram lines and city centre (7 min by tram). New building, clean and silent room, silent air-condition, window shades, comfortable beds and pillows (I like smaller and softer, so I enjoyed it here). Friendly and helpful staff. As a gift, we received a "BaselCard" which allowed us to use public transportation for free during our stay (+discounted entrance to many museums). We found the card in our room with our names printed on it. What a beautiful gift! Love it! Thanks a lot :-) I have stayed at a few Ibis Budget hotels before and this was definitely the best.

The only two things that could be better: 1) Signs on the street and the building itself. There are two hotels in one building (Novotel and Ibis) and the entrance to Ibis is visible only from the South, so there should be some signs navigating to it. 2) The door between the toilet and the room, but that is the same case as all other Ibis hotels, so no complaint from my side.
