We got a 3 bedroom apartment so it was huge and wonderful for our family. We loved having the electric car pickup at the train station, the bathtub and toiletries were fantastic, and the cleaning was fantastic. The kitchen was great. We did not try the breakfast provided by the hotel but bought groceries and Fuchs instead. The elevators were great. Views of Matterhorn were perfect and again, I can’t say enough about how perfect the location is. So easy to walk anywhere for sight-seeing, hiking, or restaurants.

It is family run, so they are available by phone only after office hours. The kitchen could’ve used some basics like salt and pepper, oil, etc but they had plenty of coffee and tea.

Wonderful stay Very high quality hotel with a lot of attention to details. The hotel is in excellent upkeep with a tasteful mix of wood and modern materials. The breakfast is excellent; local products of premier quality. It is a family hotel with very kind service. (Do not expect a large hotel with tens of staff at all time) The atmosphere is very friendly. Finally it is a very modern and enjoyable sauna area - with a bit of luck one hat the spa area completely for oneself; another advantage of the small family hotel. Considering the general pricing in Zermatt Price/Value is outstanding.

This is a modern, luxurious hotel that exemplifies Swiss design - truly a 4 Star experience in every way. A hotel stay doesn't get much better than this. The facility appears to be an independent family run establishment which is reflected in the high quality of the hotel and attention to details in the room, the service, the hotel staff and breakfast. Breakfast was a superb Swiss breakfast with a variety of top quality meats, cheeses, yogurts, eggs and breads - they will also make eggs/omelets anyway you want them. The rooms/bathrooms are new, spotless, spacious and comfortably/tastefully furnished. Their design is implemented in a way that allows two people to settle in and enjoy the room for a long stay (we were there for three nights) for either relaxing and reading a book or watching television (on a very large 60+ inch screen) while you're not hiking or skiing . Our room was located on the first floor and came with a large comfortable outdoor patio that overlooks a garden. There was also a bath tub and separate shower which gives you an idea of the generous size of the room. There is a surprisingly large amount closet and drawer space - more than I've ever seen. Two people do not feel cramped in any way - there is plenty of room to store all of your clothes and toiletries without getting on top of one another. The hotel is located just about in the center of Zermatt, approximately two blocks (a very short walk) from all the attractions, stores and restaurants. This is a significant advantage since you are close to all the action, yet far enough away to not be disturbed by the crowds and noise. Distance from the train station is about 1/4 mile, which is short enough to do with roller luggage or backpacks although they offer free pick-up and drop-off to the train station - all you have to do is ask.

It doesn't get much better than this unless you want to pay double the price at a 5 star hotel.

We had a truly wonderful stay. There is strictly nothing negative to say about our short spell at the Matterhorn Lodge. The room was exceptionally clean, quiet, cosy, but with modern facilities. Spa was also super clean and welcoming. Staff were ultra nice, and came to pick us from the train station, even though we were actually just a short walk away. Breakfast was wonderful, and we were both sad to leave. We literally can't wait to go back!

It would be nice to receive email notifications concerning our reservation in English or French, not just in German. Otherwise, there is nothing negative to add.

-it’s a beautiful hotel, with decent and comfy room, hotel staff are nice and helpful - location is perfect: a few mins walk from bahnhof, and can enjoy the peace and harmony of the place - can see the Matterhorn from my room, even you don’t choose the room with Matterhorn view, u can enjoy the view in common area, so pretty especially during the sunrise. - breakfast is good, Raul made the best soft boiled eggs - thanks for having us, we had a good time in Zermatt - specially thanks to Raul for driving us to the bahnhof, and sharing the travel information.

The apartment was spacious, clean, and a comfortable modern look. The kitchen was fully functional with modern appliances. The bathroom had a large tub and a separate rain shower. The toilet was in a separate room. The bed was comfortable. We loved the lighting from the sconces in the tub room to the floor lamps. Our balcony was accessible from both the bedroom and living room and faced the Matterhorn. The staff was warm and welcoming. In short, we could not have asked for a more perfect spot to enjoy Zermatt. We were highly pleased.

The church bells that went off every 15 minutes. Our room faced the church so napping was out.

The Matterhorn Lodge Hotel and Apartments is outstanding. It is an incredible hotel, spacious rooms, excellent service, wonderful team at the hotel to help you in any way possible. The design of the hotel and the furnishings in the room are very special. The hotel is only a few minute minute walk to the Bahnhofstrasse, the main drag with a wide range of restaurants and shopping. The hotel is also only a few minutes from either of two nearby "GreenLine" bus stops that take you directly to the main lift to Trockener Steg and on to the Glacier Paradise at the top or to the Gornergrat train. Breakfast was beyond compare with a wide range of breads, cheeses, meats, Zermatt home-made yogurt, fruits and eggs any way you like them. Everyone there was very gracious and the team made you feel like you were simply visiting friends who were overjoyed to have you at their "home." We will surely be going back!

Location was good and room was clean . Spa facilities were good.

Due to the itinerary change, the room originally booked for two nights needs to be canceled for one night. It was canceled before the deadline, but the rent has been deducted before the cancellation deadline. Credit card returned after a few days for overcharged rent. Since I don't use a local credit card, there is a price difference between foreign currency transactions. I don't understand that the hotel can't deduct the money after the cancellation deadline, which will cause losses to the guests in vain.

The hotel is small and you get a personal service, even if the hotel is full. The room we had was very spacious, the bad was comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped with new appliances (better than my own home 🙃). There is also a nice and clean spa. The Breakfast was wonderful. Everything looks renovated and super clean. Perfect location - close to the center and to the train station ,but quiet with Matterhorn view.

There is no AC in the room, and it was a little bit hot.

The hotel was very well furnished, modern but maintaining charm. The room was a good size and very well furnished with a very nice bathroom and spacious balcony. The communal facilities are excellent (the spa is fantastic and certainly better than we expected - the hotel could do a better job on this with their marketing photos as it is quite impressive). Overall, very good.

They didn't allow us 30 mins for late checkout which felt slightly unnecessary given that housekeeping were not knocking on our door. There is a 100CHF fee for late checkout which will be enforced if you check out late. Otherwise, no issues and the staff were pleasant.
