Great location with a tram stop right outside that took us into town, comfortable room although quite compact

Really happy to have air con provided as it was 35 degrees whilst we were there but it was very loud. Quite expensive but potentially normal for the country

Location is really good. Sound-prood windows were just perfect as it was quite noisy outside because of the transport. Room was clean and fully equipped. Bathroom is extremely tiny.

Unless I asked twice about possibility to give us a breakfast box one day before check out and got the confirmation that the hotel will prepare it without any problems, on the spot it tuned out that they don't have the boxes and they can give us just a piece of bread with cheese and yogurt. Thus, we couldn't use an already paid opportunity of breakfast because of the quite an early check-out and had to buy something to eat for breakfast in the room. I didn't understand the point and what is more important, didn't understand why then the hotel confirmed to me twice that they will be able to arrange it

We had a delightful 3-night stay at Sorell Hotel Rex in December, leaving with happy memories. From the prompt response to my room request to the detailed pre-arrival email, the seamless check-in process set the tone for our stay. Arriving early, we were pleased to find our room ready and exactly as requested—a lovely space with a stunning Zurich city view. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, with a full-size bathroom and high-quality touches like goose feather bedding, soft towels, and convenient amenities such as a coffee machine and yoga mat. It was quiet, cozy, and perfect for a longer stay. The breakfast buffet offered fresh, high-quality options, including locally sourced products. We appreciated the efficient service during busy moments and the all-day refreshment corner with complimentary drinks and snacks. The location was convenient, with easy tram access to the airport and city center, and the peaceful residential setting made it a serene retreat. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and professional, enhancing the overall experience. Sorell Hotel Rex is inspired by Susanna Orelli, a pioneer in women’s entrepreneurship and a supporter of the Zurich community. Staying in a hotel with such a meaningful legacy added a special dimension to our visit. We highly recommend Sorell Hotel Rex for its exceptional hospitality, comfort, and inspiring story. Great 3-star (I would call it 3+) hotel in a beautiful quiet area. Very clean and modern. Swiss standard. Has a nice shaded patio guests can use 24/7. Main train station is 20 minutes away on foot, or 5 minutes by tram. Also a 5-10 min from the No. 10 tram, which connects directly to the airport. Really good wi-fi. The immediate vicinity is great for walks and sightseeing Zurich art-nouveau architecture. About half an hour walk to the lake, 10-15 min to ETH and Uni. Zurich. Trams 7 and 15 stop right in front of the hotel.

Having to order meat separately at the buffet breakfast was a bit annoying (I never bothered to do it) - I don't understand why it's so "wasteful" to put a platter of cold cuts next to the cheese platter. No staff present after 5 pm is a bit of an inconvenience - I got by just fine, but I could see how less tech savvy people would struggle. Bakeries, cafes, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel close early - but this is just normal in Zurich. Luckily the downtown area is just a 15 min walk away downhill (or 3-4 stops by tram).

The hotel is well placed. Proximity to transportation. The bed was very comfortable. The checkin process was very simple, i did everything from my phone, even unlocking the room everytime and checkout etc. Sincerely, it was a great hotel and i especially want to thank Christine for her help and assistance.

The hotel is providing an air fan, but It was too hot even with it. The room was very hot even with windows open. There was no table water available (only sparkling) The thermostat for drying the towels in the bathroom was not working.

The hotel had to close during my stay and I was relocated to their sister hotel, so this review is based on my stay at Sorell Hotel Rütli. The staff went out of their way to make the transition smooth and comfortable. I was in very good hands at all times :-) I had the queen bed room, a bit small but very cosy and in great condition. The breakfast was superb, with excellent Birchermüesli, fresh breads and high quality cold cuts. I look forward to returning to either of these hotels on my next Zürich visit!

After careful consideration, I can't find anything to complain about!

The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and very nice towels and linen. There was a coffee maker and kettle in the room as well as a coffee machine with small rolls in the lobby. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and was vegan and vegetarian friendly. The hotel is about a 10 min walk to the old town and about 15 mins from the train station.

The pillows were typical European ones which I'm not a fan of. It would also be nice to have mugs with the coffee machine and not small, almost expresso ones, as well as a few water glasses.

The receptionist was very kind and accommodating, providing us with valuable insights about the Christmas markets to visit. Her suggestions proved to be very useful and enhanced our experience in the city. One of the most convenient aspects of the hotel was its proximity to the tram stop in a peaceful and quiet area. Being just a stone's throw away from the city center in a mere 2 minutes was perfect. The breakfast served was satisfying, offering a good variety of options. Moreover, the room provided a peaceful atmosphere, ensuring a comfortable and restful stay.

One aspect that might need attention is the size of the bathroom, which was quite small. While this didn't significantly detract from the overall experience, it might be something to consider for guests who prioritize larger bathroom spaces.

Clean and comfortable room The location was very good

We had pre booked car parking but on arriving we told them we did not need car parking and asked for a refund please. However the receptionist said she would take care of this for us but when we left two days later, the refund had not come through and we were then told by the receptionist that it was now too late and that there would be no refund as the original receptionist had forgotten to do this. Most unsatisfactory as it was a simple task!!!!

Room size was very good for 2 people. Each of us had 2 suitcases (4 in total) and we had enough room to keep all open on the floor. The room and bed sheets were very clean. Enough towels for 2 people, and they got replaced daily. The room got cleaned daily without even us requesting. Luckily there is an elevator that fits 2 people. Breakfast was served from 7am to 9:30am. Good selection but not wow. Typical Swiss breakfast. Location was in a quite neighbourhood, 15mins walking to Zurih HB or 4min by tram. I'd stay here again.

Pillows were very uncomfortable. No one at the front desk to help us after 5pm. We got stuck outside in the evening and the code wasn't working.
