Staff were friendly and efficiently responsive to all our requests, e.g. allowing us to store some of my wife's medicine in the hotel's kitchen fridge. This was important to us. A big thank you to all the hotel staff. Our room was nice, and we loved that the glass door to the small balcony could be opened to let in fresh air. The separation of bathroom and WC into two separate small rooms was also a good thing. The check- in and check- out procedures were performed quickly a friendly and efficient manner with minimum fuss and the printed receipt clearly showed the cost of our stay. And last, but not least of course, the superb central location allowed us to move our luggage ourselves, 'by hand' across to Zürich main station when it came time to leave. Another great feature is that the hotel is just a few minutes walk from a largish 'Co-op' supermarket where we could buy reasonably priced supplies. We are very happy with our decision to have stayed at Limmathof for 3 nights.

Our room had no kettle to boil water for making ourselves a hot drink in the morning or evening, and no small fridge to keep milk or a few small food items. If these can't be provided in rooms, then they could be, and should be provided in the hotel's small common room on the ground floor. This would have allowed us to boil our own water and make a cup of tea instead of going to the reception desk to ask for a thermos flask with boiled water from the kitchen on each occasion. The staff never complained about doing this for us, but it was an unnecessary inconvenience for us, and the staff.

I arrived by overnight train (and had an early trip to the airport the next day) so the location just opposite Zurich HBF was extremely convenient. Although I couldn't check in early, I could safely leave my bags. Reception staff were all extremely kind and I received a warm welcome upon arrival & check out. They also printed a concert ticket for me at short notice. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was surprisingly quiet despite the location near the station. The room was very simple/basic but perfectly fine for my needs.

I couldn't charge my devices as I had the wrong adapters (my fault!!) I was able to charge them in my friend's hotel room (elsewhere) so it would be useful if there was an alternative option for charging sockets.

The hotel is centrally located and made my travel as a solo female very convenient and safe. The room was clean. The highlight of my visit to this hotel was the treatment AFTER I LEFT. I forgot a piece of sentimental jewellery in the hotel, and the hotel management kept it for me...and even mailed it to me in the Middle East. They were under no obligation to do so. The staff is probably the best part of this hotel - they're friendly and helpful...and definitely made me feel more welcome than any of the other hotels I stayed at in Switzerland.

Unfortunately my room smelled like smoke. It was really hard to air the smell out myself...keeping a window open didn't work...and it was mid-February. I did bring this matter to the attention of the front of house staff right after I arrived, but I wasn't moved to a different room. However - I think that this might have been a one time thing and that the guest before me violated their non-smoking rules. The hotel room itself is a little old-looking and could do with a major upgrade, especially the hideous wallpaper...but it was clean and did the job for what I needed. Don't expect luxury when you stay here though.

The location of the hotel is excellent, the tram stop is right next to it, the main railway station is close. We didn't buy breakfast. Hotel reception staff were very nice and helpful, thank you all! The hotel is old, but clean and nice, we felt good there.

The weather was very warm, there is no air conditioner in the room, there is only a fan that circulates the same air. There is no refrigerator. The chocolates bought from the chocolate museum, which would have melted, were taken to the refrigerator in the kitchen by a kind receptionist. In cooler weather, maybe there is no problem.

The reception staff were super friendly and relaxed. The location is very close to the Old Town and also convenient for Zurich HB train station. The breakfast was a decent buffet of self service cold foods, with a choice to sit on the balcony or inside. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. If you like the windows open, then outside noise was medium and generally consisted of traffic and tram noise without people shouting - so a general low drone which I personally can sleep through.

There was no air conditioning, which to be fair, is probably only a problem in the hottest part of summer (which we went). But, unlike other hotels, the windows could actually be opened wide and the night noise outside was not too high and a fan was supplied in the room - so it was not too uncomfortable. For the other 11 months in the year, I suspect comfort would be excellent.

- centre of the city, 5-15 mins walk from Zurich main station depending on how heavy the luggages - a lot of cafe, restaurants and bars around - can be noisy - room is simple and basic, and very clean - lift available at reception to 5th floor, but a few steps of stair from the ground to the reception - the staff of the hotel (i guess he is the manager?) is nice - the fact that reception is available is quite essential to us as have read that many hotels of similar range using PIN and causing a lot of problems

- the stairs before reaching the lift - beds are quite soft

In the heart of Old Town Zurich right next to the central tram hub…so the location was brilliant. Walk out the door, jump on a tram and you’re away exploring. The Breakfast was substantial, plentiful and very high quality. The preserves were even homemade! The staff in the breakfast room were also fabulous!

The room looked a little tired - our bedhead was scratched and the varnish was peeling off and the curtains were bleached by the sun…and there was no airconditioning..just a desk top fan, which worked OK, but I’m not sure how you would go in high summer..we were there in early June with daily temperature around 24C.

The Hotel is at a great location. Minutes from the Hauptbahnhof and easily within reach by train from the Airport. It's at the end of the Altstadt with all kind of restaurant's and bars. The Central tram & bus station at the front door and the Hauptbahnhof across the river make it a central hub to exploring the city, region and country. No car is necessary with the great access to public transportation all around the region. Get a daily pass and hop from Trams, S-Bahn, Buses and regional trains and even to some ships The room was a good size with functional furniture and a comfy bed. The bathroom was well appointed and not too small. It's not the newest design but it's all clean and working well and a great value. The hotel has a back entrance with just a few steps, the front entrance has 2 flights of stairs that lead to a small concierge desk. The hotel doesn't offer many amenities or luxury hang out spaces, but a great location, comfortable clean rooms at a great price. Breakfast was served in its own area and they had a good buffet selection as well as fresh coffee and eggs any style you like.

The in-house (vegetarian) restaurant was unfortunately closed during my stay but they are remodeling and should open again soon.

Clean with the basic amenities. Nice wardrobe for clothes, fan provided for the heat was a lifesaver in this hot summer. Staff spoke English and were very accommodating. Great location, right by the train station and easy access to the whole city.

Switzerland is pricey, but still, the facilities were pretty basic for the price. WiFi left much to be desired (text authentication didn’t work, poor speed). The bed was hard, and the bathroom lacks ventilation, and after hours entry is complicated— had to try the speaker and different doors to get in.

We walked from Zurich HB station and arrived very early around 8am. The hotel was happy to check us in at that time and we were very grateful! Staff were very accommodating anytime we had questions or wanted help. Room was very clean. There was a view from the window onto a tram line, which I enjoyed.

The shower area was small and had a shower curtain on an L-shaped track. The curtain would constantly stick to the body which I found very annoying. As with many European hotels in old buildings, there were a few steps to get from the street level to reception, and then another few steps to the lift.
