The location was fantastic, 2 lovely beaches within a few minutes walking distance, plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby but still a very quiet peaceful place to stay. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

We had read in the comments that the breakfast was 7 eleven style sandwiches with fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, instant coffee and Lipton tea. This is true but as we were expecting it it was fine, especially as it was included in the very reasonable price. We didn't use the pool as the beaches were so beautiful but it looked fine and was cleaned daily. Sunbeds next to the pool would have been nice instead of plastic chairs

MUST DO: - Pool area desperately needs to have sun loungers! There is so much space - no excuse not to include this! - Needs a full length mirror or wall mirror of some sort and hair dryer to get ready in the bedroom. Only mirror is in the bathroom with no power point. - Everything else is wonderful! SUGGESTIONS: - Power sockets beside the bed would be helpful. - Lighting is quite dull although length of it but the room is still dark. - A little more choice of sandwich at breakfast although amazing value so this is a small suggestion for improvement. - We stayed here 6 months ago and made the same comments so it would be great to see them being acted on.

I read some mixed reviews on this place but I thought it was fantastic. My review is based on Me (40) and my 2 kids, 13 & 20. We stayed in one of the rooms with 2 bunk beds. We thought this was great compared to a family room the bunks were big and spacious and the room we were in was so big had a TV and a fridge and a separate shower to toilet room with a double sink. We had two beautiful pools outside our door and there are two more deeper pools to use as well. The staff were so nice and friendly! I see people going on about the breakfast well we were happy with it, this place cost me €35 for the night for 3 people, I don't know what people expect, but they had a little room next to reception and inside was two bags with our room number on them inside was hard boiled eggs bananas apples oranges and we got a sandwich which was so fresh and delicious, we took our bags with us down to the beach and had a picnic and the day we checked out we basically had a packed lunch to head off with. The little village Kia Bea is very nice as well lovely little places to eat and nice to walk around and there is a short stroll to be beach which is stunning!!

great location in centre of KaiBae which is great for the whole of that coast. Staff were friendly and when they accidentally overcharged us when we extended our stay and moved rooms. They came and found us and gave us some money back! Pool clean and a decent length for swimming great little beach just a couple of minutes walk

the only small issue was that breakfast wasn’t great but to be fair The price we got the room for it was irrelevant really

Great location, close to the beach and a beautiful space. Room was spacious and the whole complex was being cleaned on a daily basis. Bed was super comfy as well. Friendly stuff, everything went smoothly during check-in and check-out.

Two details. Breakfast was poor. Apart from a juice, tea and some fruits, there was only one type of pre-made sandwich and if you eat vegan well.. you simply have no breakfast, even a simple toast with jam would be better. Additionaly our place was located under the tree, from which nuts (?) were falling down all night long, so we've been woken up for a few times. It's kinda external condition, but would be good if hostel found a way in the future to solve it.

Location is super good! with walking distance you can find everything you need. It's 15 minutes to one of the most beautiful beach on the island. Cheap restaurants and bars right next to this place. Apartment is quiet and clean. Stuff is helpful with everything you need. If is something wrong with the room, rent motorcycle, etc. the value worth for the money and you feel like home.

Breakfast is not really breakfast, but I would call it a snack. I recommend you to add some more options and not use "one use" dishes. So much waste, especially in hotel environment. Higher level in English would help you to improve service in your hotel :)

We really enjoyed our stay at The Stage. The room was big and clean, the location was perfect and cozy, 3 minutes by walk from the beach. Since we spend wonderful 10 days at the hotel, I would like to say more especially regarding some previous bad reviews I was reading about: -if you find ants in the room, welcome to the jungle: the hotel is surrounded by the green, it's normal to have some little animals around. If you avoid spreading crumbles of food around, anyway, ants won't come. -the pool is clean, the staff takes care of it every morning. Well you might find some leaves in it and insects but again, welcome to the jungle. Koh Chang is suffering of lack of water because of too many resorts and huge pools, and beautiful natural rivers are being destroyed because of it. If the water is recycled and not crystalline, I honestly think it's even better. -The breakfast is very simple: yes, it's a 2 star hotel. And the fruit is always fresh. -the staff is always available, if there is nobody at the reception, they are just in the resort in front of you and they take 1 minute to come to you if you call, but we found someone at the desk most of the time. They are all very kind: I was one day at the hospital and when they knew it, they unrequested picked me up with a private taxi for free. I really appreciated a lot their help and I am very thankful for this. Altogether: the hotel is perfect for quality-price and Kai Bae is in my opinion the best beach if you like having a daily appointment with a stunning sunset and kayaking to beautiful islands during the day. The area has many shops and you can really live the local life and at the same time have a big choice within a lot of restaurants. Do you want a huge and prefect pool? A fancy breakfast? No insects? Go to Gaja Puri, it's a resort right in front of The Stage more expensive but with higher standards, and it's owned by the same family. To me, The Stage was a perfect stay.

I originally booked for 1 night and ended up staying more. It was perfect! The staff are so welcoming and helpful(especially the trainee staff). I had made 3 separate bookings but they was extremely organised and had the paperwork ready. The rooms + pool area are spotlessly clean and spacious, with good outdoor seating for both. Well equipped rooms, with comfy beds, working a/c, hot shower, working Wi-Fi + a fridge. Toilet paper and water provided regularly. Perfect location, close walk to the beach and many restaurants. I hope to visit again!

This is a budget accommodation and it has Great size room, lovely terrace/balcony. Good Aircon and fan. Free breakfast (not great but better than nothing). Good central location in Kai Bae. Great value for money, hard to beat it for the price. Room cleaned every day.

Cold shower!!! there was no hot water during my stay. Hard/uncomfortable bed. Reception often unstaffed. main swimming pool doesn't look good (half empty, needs more water).

whilst breakfast was really big we’d prefer to go to a restaurant rather than it be delivered to the room each morning - but others may love this? Sandwiches with 3 pieces of thick, thick bread was a little odd but once we asked for 2 slices only, it was better. A full length mirror would be useful.
