Fabulous resort with a wonderful beach for swimming & snorkelling, good size pool. Daily room service with free water & coffee. Food in restaurant was also good & not overly priced. Buffet breakfast was ok with choice of freshly cooked eggs. When we walked around the resort the scent from the trees was amazing, they also have wild Toucans in the trees & Salamanders in the pond which you sometimes see at breakfast behind the restaurant. Staff were really lovely, the main guy in reception (sorry can’t remember his name) helped book our return boat & taxi transfer to the airport, nothing was to much trouble. Would recommend & definitely return

The one downside was the fact after breakfast you could not buy any drinks until mid day. They have a fabulous bar which didn’t open until afternoon, why? Staff were available. I’m sure there would be lots of people eager to buy drinks before lunch

The hotel is located by a beautiful beach - this is the biggest advantage of this place. The color of the water is spectacular. The cottages are not the newest but sufficient. Breakfasts are very average, as is the hotel restaurant (the quality of dishes for lunch and dinner leaves you unsatisfied) - and I write this from the perspective of visiting other hotels in a similar area and at the same price during our trip around Thailand.

The most irritating phenomenon that occurred in the hotel was the reservation of sunbeds on the beach from very early in the morning. Guests occupied the sunbeds with towels long before breakfast and this was accepted by the hotel. Then for many more hours no one appeared on these sunbeds, and the next guests who wanted to relax by the beach after breakfast no longer had free sunbeds.

The nicest property on the island, very well maintained grounds and idyllic location. good variety for breakfast, extensive enough menu for the restaurant when you consider how remote the island is. The staff were all very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. If you opt for a beachfront bungalow, ask for one not directly in front of the pool, which leaves you exposed in full view of everyone unless you close the curtains.

The high pitched insects start around 6:30am and do not stop at all until about 6:30pm. This isn’t any fault of the property though, it’s nature. Just don’t expect pristine peace and quiet with just ocean waves lapping in the background.

We had a lovely stay at Thanya beach resort. The staff is very nice and helpful. Decent restaurant with very nice food and service. We had a very nice room, which was very comfortable. We were offered a late check out as our transfer to our next destination wasn't until 12:30, that was very kind. The premises are kept very neatly and tidy. There is a very nice reef that is easy accessible at low tide. With high tide it requires a bit of a swim. The resort is very quiet and serene, so if that is what you are looking for, you're at the right spot.

There wasn't anything we disliked, the only thing we might have missed was a little bar area, where we could have little sundowner and enjoy the stunning views at sunset. Also, there just isn't much to do on Ko Ngai. Many hotels/resorts/bars aren't open (yet?) Also dive schools are closed. Possibly a covid aftermath? Maybe it's the time of the year (we stayed in the last week of November) but who knows. We were looking for tranquility and relaxation, so we didn't really mind though, just a heads up.

the super friendly receptionist, the wonderful architeonical clever and beautiful authentic designed bungalow, the wonderful garden with many many blossoming frangipanis and more , the nice and delicious food at the restaurant , the friendly bar keeper, the beautiful beach, the very beautiful pool, the kindness of the staff. the wonderful beachfront with good furniture to ly on, the delicious breakfast with variety of egg dishes and croissants (!!!)

The location is excellent, close to the main beach. The desing of the resort is pleasant and it is very clean and well kept. The rooms are large enough, as are the bathrooms and wardrobe area between them, with the bathroom connected to the bedroom by a window that can be closed. The beds and pillows are comfortable. There is enough natural light in the rooms during the day. Breakfast is good, with many tasty options, also for vegetarians and vegans. The staff is polite and helpful.

The food for luch and dinner was not tasty. There is not enough electrical light in the rooms, making it difficult to read in bed or to saw a button in the evening. However, the main reason why I would not return has nothing to do with the resort, but with Koh Ngai, a small island with too little to do if you happen to be there on windy days - no snorkeling, not even swiming in the sea -, while apparently it is full of mosquitos on calm days, with a beach full of seaweeds and stones in the water, and absolutely nothing to do in the evenings: too boring for a 71 year old solo traveller like me, I guess also for younger people.

Thanya Resort was like heaven to us! The property is located directly on the beach of a tiny Ngai island. We were staying in the sea view villa and the sea view was really spectacular! The villa itself is very spacious with a large balcony overlooking sea, sunrises and sunsets. We had more than enough space to store our belongings and the housekeeping made sure that it was sparkling clean everyday. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay. The beach is beautiful and calm, always clean with an easy to reach coral reef for snorkelling. The pool is good sized. The restaurant serves exceptional breakfast with different choices every day both Thai and continental. Also all our dinners were very fresh and tasty. The staff in the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. The front reception with always friendly, smily and polite Es is a place to go if in need of anything. They always find time to answer all questions and accommodate any need like arrangement of transportation. We found the size of Thanya Resort just perfect. Never crowded but having all the amenities we wanted. I can recommend this place wholeheartedly and we are already planning our return. Thank you Es for great memories!

Staying at Thanya Beach Resort was definitely our first choice of hotel at Ko Ngai as it fulfilled all our criteria, with a hotel nicely integrated in the island in total respect of the local nature, between the beach and the forest. The staff is very friendly and always keen to help and advise when needed with a big smile. All the services, such as the restaurant, the swimming pool, the little shop, the transfer from/to the Trang airport,... were excellent. On top of the list, this family owned hotel offered a very nice Christmas Eve party to the guests with great generosity, in terms of food, entertainments, dance and fireworks at the end of the party. It is rare to see such a good atmosphere in a hotel, thanks to the excellent staff What else to say than I highly recommend this hotel for your next visit or mine when we decide to come back to Ko Ngai Warm regards to the Thanya Beach Resort team Christophe

Only good things to say about our stay. We were in one of the top rooms with great views (and the occasional monitor lizard walking past). Room was big and comfortable, breakfast was good, we didn't use the pool but it is a nice option and there were plenty of beach loungers for everyone. It is very nice being at the end of the beach away from the boats of day trippers (saw 4 full boats pull up in front of Koh Ngai Seafood one day).

Had some issues getting a decent wifi signal in our room but they made some adjustments to solve the issue. Laynni thinks the bed is in the wrong place to really take advantage of the views. File that under "very minor concern".

Nice beach with a small coral reef. Don't expect a lot of activities but if you want to rest, it's a great place. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is decent. There's a monitor lizard living around that can be spotted in the pond.

They should forbid boats to come too close to the coral reef and help educate their guests about how to preserve it. Wifi signal is weak in some rooms.
