The bed was huuuuuuge! So comfy and just what we needed after a 10hr flight! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Location is perfect - 1m walk to the beach and on the quiet end of the strip. All in all it was a great place to call home while away.

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. What the hotel lacks in facilities compared to the big shooters (no pool, etc), it more than makes up for value and service, and honestly, who needs a pool when you're steps from the beach? We were provided with free snorkel hire, boogie board hire beach towels, etc. The room wasn't the largest, but it was comfortable and had a view of the ocean, comparable to the Hyatt opposite which is obviously a lot more expensive. Would 100% recommend it to any couple looking for a comfortable but affordable place to stay in Waikiki.

I thoght the location was GREAT! Had a clear and perfect view of the beach and it was a minute walk to it as well. My family were used to staying at Embassy Suites but really loved this stay this time because were so close to the beach and had a beautiful view from the room of the beach.

Nothing really of note but I would say that the rooms are a little older looking so would definitely benefit from a slight update and I reckon a little microwave in the rooms would be perfect for those late night ABC runs to get a cold Musubi roll.

The location and staff at this hotel are fantastic. We got there super early after a long flight from Japan and the guy at the front desk called around on the walkie talkie to housekeeping to find us a room we could get into right away. When I say the staff are friendly I mean it. Way above and beyond. This is on the quieter less touristy end of Waikiki beach. However, you can walk all the way to the other end of Waikiki in 15-20 min so honestly it is a great less expensive option while still being super close to it all. So glad we decided to stay here rather than paying for some ridiculously over priced room that you are only in to sleep anyway. Overall the room was comfy and clean. AND the hotel has beach chairs, snorkel gear, floaties, beach towels etc for you to use so it saves a lot of money on renting stuff. You must have breakfast at the Barefoot Beach Cafe right on the beach nearby. It was WONDERFUL.

The room was good but needed a tiny bit of work (the faucet handle in the shower was almost coming off) and the shower head was lacking pressure (rain head) so hard to wash your hair but all minor stuff.

Without exception, the staff members were very pleasant and helpful. The decor was lovely, and we really appreciated being able to use the beach gear. Beds were comfortable and the room was really quiet. Easy walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Great way to stay in a premium location without having to pay a premium price.

The bathroom had a glass door and glass wall panel, which looked great but caused some issues if you had to use the bathroom when your roommates were trying to sleep. We only had housekeeping once in five days, although the staff readily provided anything we asked for.

Hotel Renew itself was a fantastic experience for us. The room was fairly spacious for the price. The location is right off the beach and near the edge of downtown, which is a great balance between convenience and escape from other tourists. The staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Owen, great guy).

The beach equipment is okay, but not in great shape (fins we were given were damaged but usable, chair was cheap and basic). Nothing egregious, but we probably wouldn't borrow from the hotel again. The neighbors were easily the biggest drawback; there's a moped/three-wheel rental shop in the alley that makes a fair amount of noise until about 10pm, but it's only occasionally as renters leave and drop off vehicles. Much worse is the hostel(?) next door, which had multiple, very loud parties. I would recommend booking only a beach side room or a room on a higher floor to avoid sleep interruptions.

I loved that the location was near everything (beach, coffee, restaurants, etc). I loved that all the staff was so friendly!! we stayed for a week, and every single time we’d go past the front desk out in or out of the front doors, all the staff greeted us and just had smiles on their faces. They truly made the stay 10x better! I also loved that beach items to borrow came with the stay! considering we spent 80% of our trip at the beach, it made it so easy, convenient & affordable for us to have beach towels and chairs for the day.

I honestly can’t think of anything I didn’t like about the property.

The esthetics and interior design of the hotel room and lobby were great. I liked how there was free coffee and newspapers in the morning. The hotel was also conveniently located near the beach and stores. They also provided beach towels and snorkel gear when requested. Staff were accommodating and attentive.

It didn’t have an in room microwave or coffee maker, and coffee in the lobby wasn’t available throughout the day. The window wasn’t insulated, allowing heat through the glass, which makes it energy inefficient

The location was perfect, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cost also allowed us to save a bit of money to spend on extra food and activities.

One of the two elevators was being renovated and out of commission, so sharing one elevator with no option of stairs for 9 floors was a bit much. The room itself was nice and clean, but somewhat outdated. This was especially noticeable in the bathroom - the shower leaked water very easily, the faucet handle fell off (easily reattached), and the toilet seemed to be leaking towards the end of our visit. It seems that we were not the first guests to experience these issues either as the carpet and wood siding in and near the bathroom showed signs of water damage.

The property has a very inviting lobby and exceptional staff. The view of our room (lucky #808) was AMAZING!!! We had perfect Views of the beach and were able to watch the fireworks from the Honolulu Festival. We liked the smaller size of the property which allows for more of a personalized customer service interaction. Staff is always so friendly and provide above and beyond customer experience. The staff maintaining the rooms were top notch. Staff at the front door offered suggestions for food and attractions for us that we never knew about. We did not want to leave. Thank you for making our trip so wonderful!
