The room was spotless, comfortable, warm and very nicely done out. Lovely touches and great decor. Everything you might need was thought of. So thank you! The evening meal in the restaurant bar was excellent. Breakfast was too, at such an early hour (of my chosing) whilst the weather was absolutely grim outside - storm Bert! So well done the kitchen staff for braving the vile weather in the dark to serve the guests. It was fantastic value all round. The staff are super cool, friendly, and helpful. I've stayed in a lot of places and I thought the Marquis was spot on.

To be picky, the Saturday night live music - though good - was about 20 decibels too loud for a hotel and the wet room shower could probably do with a small protruding floor seal around the edge, which I've seen in other places. It didn't affect me, but I gather the floor can get quite wet if a longer shower is taken, and I can see how that might happen.

In case it's helpful to note, the check-in is at bar/ restaurant counter. Very friendly staff. Room is spacious and comfortable. There was bottled water and biscuits which was a nice touch. The bathroom is spacious too with good shower power. The cooked breakfast sets you up for your walks for the day. Good location to the Brecon Beacons. Many restaurants and shops just walking distance away.

The entrance to the rooms is at the back, and it's behind the restaurant kitchen, so it's not the most welcoming one. But it wasn't really an issue for us as we were mostly out. Parking is tight but manageable.

The hotel was up to my expectations, the rooms are very nicely decorated, and the bathroom was very nice, but in need of some further TLC, silicon mould, which wouldn't take too much effort to return it to its nice modern style. The staff were very helpful and considerate.

Nothing really to dislike, this is a value for money hotel, just needs some time spending on it in the TLC department. Having to park on the street as the car park was disorganised was a bit inconvenient, as I was in my works van, with kit in, but it was fine in the morning.

All the staff I met over the two days were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was quiet and warm and the shower was *excellent*. The hotel is also situated very near the centre of Aberdare and is easy to come and go from.

Two tiny issues: i. there was standing water on the metal walkway to the rooms that was quite deep ii. the green light from the fire exit in the room is quite distracting when you're trying to sleep (I understand why, legally, it has to be there).

Lovely warm welcome from team on arrival at approx 2.30 pm on Saturday 27th Jan shown to our room by young lady. fab sized room with good facilities. Saturday evening lovely friendly lady serving at bar Tracey. Equally friendly welcome at breakfast with the sisters Heidi and Kelly had a nice conversation with them they are a real credit to your business having worked as management in hospitality myself I understand the importance of guest satisfaction your team members really stood out as providing exceptional service. Nicely cooked breakfast fresh and piping hot served efficiently and with a smile and made such a difference to my morning as I was suffering with a self inflicted sore head after partying on sat evening !! Thank you for a wonderful stay we usually stay at Premier Inn however when we are next in Aberdare we will be making a return visit the Marquis. Kind regards Carol and Jason

Felt the bedding could've smelt fresher however the beds were really comfortable and had a great night's sleep.

The food was exceptional, really delicious and large portion sizes. The team were friendly as were the locals we saw. The room was clean and comfortable, wifi and TV worked well.

The parking was a little awkward but we were able to park. The approach may make you worry as it isn't the prettiest, but once inside, you will have a comfortable stay with nice people and good food. The main restaurant is accessed via a small path outside so if it is raining you maybe need a coat! But it's Wales, you should have a coat 🙂.

Absolute gem, the room has, by the looks of it, recently had an upgrade… modern and clean with attention to detail to the en suite especially… breakfast was lovely, fresh and home cooked, brilliant for transport links, the train station is a short walk and we were in Cardiff in 40minutes

Only snipe was our room was above the main entrance which is where people smoke, we had the window open whilst out and when we came back the room smelled of cigarettes

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the room was very clean and tidy.

The evening meal was not very good food, however we had breakfast included with the room and that was lovely. Parking is a massive issue as the property is located right on a corner of a residential road and if there is no room in the 4 space car park you can park out on the road but you will need to move your car by 8am in the morning. The hotel car park is a nightmare as you will be blocked in by other people staying there, and like us we left early in the morning so had to find the owner to move their car. Another issue we found if cars are parked right outside the entrance to the car park you will have problems getting into there as its a very tight bend and u may struggle to get in there, and word of warning it's on a very steep hill so be carful.

Excellent choice, very good value. Made very welcome from the time we arrived until we left, we would happily return. We arrived Saturday lunch time after a frustrating journey along the A465 (lack of road signs during major road works), so had lunch as a priority before going to our room. Evening we had a sandwich and drinks. Sunday was an excellent roast at £9.95, again, very good value. Sunday evening the kitchen is closed, but they did us sandwiches for the evening, kept in their fridge until we wanted them. Our room was large with two 'easy' chairs, modern TV facilities, plus a modern and spacious shower room. All in all a very enjoyable break, which we hope to repeat.

NOTHING!
