We stayed here as a stop-off to break up a journey. We were warmly welcomed. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was absolutely excellent.

The only thing that could have been better was that our bathroom was a bit on the chilly side, especially in the morning when the heating didn't come on until 0745, by which time we were already up as breakfast was served between 8 and 9. It had been a particularly cold night so maybe this is not normally an issue.

The location is a good one right near the centre of town.

We had trouble finding the hotel. The address didn't match the one we had. After trying a few roads near to the address we had and not being able to find it we stopped at another hotel where a few young ones were chatting out the front. One of them was very friendly and told us exactly how to find The Lord Nelson and we were able to drive straight there with his instructions.

Friendly, attentive and really helpful staff. Really clean and comfortable room. We had a really great meal in the evening, which was exceptionally good value. Breakfast was also excellent. Very impressed overall.

Some loud music coming from the houses next door in the evening but didn't go on too late so was ok. Found the water temperature in the shower to be quite cool despite turning it up to the maximum.

Good breakfast, and the hosts kindly provided the cooked vegetarian breakfast I had requested. The atmosphere in the pub was cheery and lively on arrival as locals were watching the Wales v Scotland rugby. Everyone, staff and patrons, were friendly and warm. The room and bathroom were absolutely lovely -- modern, clean, spacious enough, and so well insulated we couldn't hear anything from the pub downstairs. We were only stopping over between Brecon and Cardiff so we were thrilled to have stumbled upon the Lord Nelson where we got a great room, breakfast and evening meals at super prices. Highly recommended!

This was perfect for us as a stopover, but it's in a quiet neighbourhood with no entertainment locally in the evening if that's what you're looking for.

Breakfast was freshly cooked at a time to suit you and was beautiful. The staff were really friendly and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and you could access the accommodation either through the bar when it was open or through an external door at other times which was very convenient. Even though the room was above the bar it was super quiet.

Room 4 is a family room with 3 single beds. Excellent value for money, the room was minimalist and spotlessly clean. White crisp sheets, fluffy white bath towels, super pillow and great shower. Breakfast was excellent too. Staff friendly and welcoming. We stayed for 1 night whilst visiting the area. If you get a chance drive to the top towards Farm Road and continue for a scenic route, the views are amazing.

Nothing. Note: Hand soap is provided but not shower gel so remember to take your own.

The staff were so welcoming and made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The bed was fantastic and very comfortable and the breakfast each morning was delicious. When the locals come to the pub downstairs in the evening, the venue has a warm and lively feeling to it and all of the locals were very welcoming and happy to talk to us and give us recommendations. The venue is also in an ideal location for treks up into the Brecon Beacons.

I wouldn't say we disliked anything in particular, we just had a slight issue with a couple of things in the bathroom, but these were easily fixed!

Our room was clean and in good repair, with its own en-suitefacilities. They provided us with a hearty breakfast to set us up for a day out, but were very willing to be flexible and tailor it to our tastes and wishes. Most importantly of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful, which is really what makes for a good experience. We were very happy with our stay, and I would happily stay there again if I'm in the area, and warmly recommend it to others.

In an ideal world a comfy chair in thr room would be nice, but I'm not complaining as there wasn't space for one and we were perfectly content sitting on the beds. .

Lovely staff. Really helpful. Very clean room. Free parking. Very close to station. A breakfast that would be difficult to beat. Freshly cooked and served with a smile. Perfect. Slept like a log. Comfortable beds and quiet residential area. Exceptional value for money. A little gem that I would highly recommend . Will definitely stay again.

Nothing. Had everything we needed.

Being a female travelling alone, I was very nervous. However, I needn't have worried. The guys were very friendly and welcoming. I even sat downstairs and had a drink and a chat. Breakfast was amazing. the landlady was lovely. She even made me a bacon butty to take out

Only tiny niggle, no mirror in the bedroom.
