Very friendly staff, the room in the garden area was large, bright and very clean with a big comfortable bed. Shower was over the bath but plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was good, Angela thought that her yoghurt with compote was sublime, my bacon and eggs was well up to standard. Plenty of coffee and good orange juice. Nice touch with the toast was a small croissant and pain au chocolat. Dinner was generally very good over the three nights, great lobster with tagliatelle, duck breast was delicious, monkfish tails with chorizo sublime, trio of Blythburgh pork very good. Wonderful walks by the sea and rivers.

Surprised when we were shown a room in the garden, looked at first a bit light a chalet in a holiday camp. However, hold judgement and our room was great inside together with a small patio to the rear, view of Orford Castle keep and pleasant garden. The 6.15 and 8.15 sittings for dinner are a bit of a problem as the 8.15 sitting can start at 8.30 to 8.45 if the first sitting are slow to vacate their seats!

Great location in Orford; right next to the castle and close to the estuary. We had a garden room and were able to park right outside our room. Our patio faced west and even in late Sept we sat outside in the late afternoon looking onto the gardens. Perfect. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice. Our evening meal was of a really excellent standard. The staff were all very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Good to have personal service for breakfast rather than the usual buffet stuff. Excellent location with view of the castle from one's bedroom. Very good to be able to control the room heating and heated towel rail oneself without management interferring.

The blinds were very stiff to operate and the controls came apart after a few days.

Great location in village close to castle, easy parking on site. Really good staff, very accommodating. Room had Lovely walk in shower. Good tea making facilities with biscuits etc..Bottle of spring water. Very good selection of breakfast choices, all waiter served.

Room was on the smallish size but adequate for a two night stay. Pulling back clean white bed sheets revealed a black spider, another one found under the pillow. Luckily we were not too phased but some other people might be.

Room was spacious and with a small outside terrace overlooking the garden. Very quiet. Liked the food and the helpfulness of all the staff. Breakfast was beautifully presented and there was so much choice. We ate in the hotel on the first night and really enjoyed our meal. The fish specials were superb.

The only thing was that shower (above bath) was a little weak.

the room and facilities were very good.

I arrived an hour early and was told very sharply that i was too early. This greeting could have been much knider as I'd driven a long way and I'm 79 years old. At breakfast next day the waitress was very unfriendly and sharp so much so that I left the following day and avoided breakfast. The coffee tasted like mud

Location, the views, the staff, the building, dinner was lovely

Stay was great only adding the notes below to be constructive There was a extractor fan or heating system near the kitchen that was quite loud (against the quiet location) when we had the window open, but not terrible nit pick: the room was lovely, clean and neat, but weirdly the cables for the TV were just hanging haphazardly and just looked messy

Great size room with comfortable furnishings. We had a chalet style garden room with small outside seating area. Very friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was excellent.

The only draw back was the lack of air conditioning or at least an electric portable fan readily available in the room. It was a very warm night and like other guests we spoke too it was difficult to sleep. Whereas not mentioned in the in-room literature apparently a fan would have been available. I have asked they up date this information particularly when there is mention of obtaining a toilet brush if required! !

Beautiful building and dining/ bar area. Lovely comfortable garden room with outside seating area . The room overlooking the private residents garden and castle. Good parking.

Nothing really, though being single storey and south facing the bedroom did get very hot at night. Maybe some better ventilation of those rooms would be good in summer.

The hotel has just been decorated so lovely bright room with great blinds for the window. Lovely bedding so good night's sleep. Top class drink facilities in the bedroom, like the small flask of 'proper' milk for hot drinks. Breakfast was exceptional again in lovely surroundings, we didn't have evening meal. Yes would stay again

If I had to comment I would ask the bedroom kettle be smaller as very difficult to fill at bathroom sink.
