Nice location. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Local customers were polite and engaging. Nice simple breakfast/dining room and the option to eat in the snug bar. Food was very nice; I ate breakfast and evening meals in the hotel. I had a 'cabin room'. This comprised two single beds and a shared bathroom and shower. The room was nice, and the bathroom was a very good size. Car parking is within the hotel grounds, so no parking fees or long walks to get to and from the car.

I found everything to be very satisfactory.

The staff were very friendly and helped with our bags when we arrived The room was bigger than expected with a big bathroom Excellent idea for breakfast -paying seperately for what you can eat especially for light eaters at breakfast like us. Very clean - good communication with staff and felt very at ease there.

As the room was facing the trafic was noisy at times and the old style windows did not enable us to drown out the noise. New windows etc will be covered eventually so that will improve the sound levels.

I have been staying at this hotel on and off for 30yrs. Over the past few yrs it has undergone a program of updating and modernisation. Not £ millions, just the hard graft 'let's roll our sleeves up' kind. And it has been well worth it! The reception is now much brighter and in tune with 2021. The restaurant/ breakfast room is back at the front of the hotel and looks modern and welcoming. My room was warm, laid out well with plenty of towels and condoments. Plenty of tea and coffee, laid out next to my very own kettle and mugs also. Again..if you are looking for 5* luxury, look elsewhere but if you just want a friendly host, a neat and tidy room with a comfy bed then this is a great place to start.

You can get a little traffic noise if your room overlooks the nearby crossroad.

Food excellent and good value for money. Staff were all charming, friendly and everywhere very clean.

Our beds were on wheels and TOO mobile. There is no lift and stairs steep and it’s difficult to manoeuvre on them with luggage. No full length mirror or a mirror attached. The room key was very awkward to remove from the door.

Great value for money, the room included a full English or continental breakfast. The breakfast was very good 10/10. The room was clean and of a very good size, top floor is a walk up but no problem unless you are very elderly. The hotel has a small car park but found a space, parking locally is not restricted anyway. Very friendly and happy staff. They sell 'zero' alcohol lager which is very good. The Hotel is on a main road but right by the traffic light junction so there is very little traffic noise and hardly audible. There is a very large and secure garden with climbing stuff if you have kids that need to have a run around for a bit and blow some steam off.

Hotel is placed on a major crossroads with traffic lights and pedestrian crossing so the traffic noise was a problem. Car park is adequate for hotel guests but if a function was taking place could be a little tight None of which is the fault of the hotel and staff do there best to assist where possible

Very friendly pub hotel with laidback vibe. Don’t expect a posh (boring) country hotel, this a lively place, sometimes with music and a gorgeous garden. Very clean, comfortable room with a bath.

Just a suggestion: The automatic bathroom light and fan does more harm than good. Always comes on when you don’t want it to, especially during the day

The room could do with updating though I gather the process of updating rooms has started. The room was cleaned spacious enough and the bed was comfortable. Its clear that the priority for updating and been the bar and the restaurant and they have been very tastefully done. The food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced and there was a good selection of drinks and ales in the bar. Certainly no need to go anywhere else if you have booked in here for a night or two. Plenty of choice for breakfast which was excellent too. I would certainly stay there again.

Gr8 place to stay when in Leiston, staff warm n friendly, room was clean, bathroom clean, no complaints. Food was very tasty, we had roast day before for father's day 'n' my birthday The garden wonderful, had a live band playing, excellent Breakfast next day was special as we were only ones there, but there was everything. From marmite on toast to cereal to full English, and he made us fresh coffee Highly recommended

A suspicion that other people had charged their drinks to my tab. It seemed larger than expected and wasn’t itemized. I only thought about it 20 miles away. Next time I will query it
