My partner and I stay regularly, and we find this hotel meets all of our needs. The hotel is really clean and smells absolutely wonderful. The beds are always perfectly comfortable and clean. They are an eco-friendly hotel with lots to offer such as a gym, spa facilities, dining area and bar open 24/7 We have booked doubles and privileged doubles and have always been just what we need being local to the town and beach The beach view rooms offer an absolutely stunning view, and it has become a favourite pastime to watch the sun rise and sun set from the comfort of our bed

We had one occasion when we were asked if we were smoking, and it most certainly wasn't us. We were rudly interrupted during an intimate moment... my partner was mortified when answering the door to the hotel manager. It was soon resolved, and my partner and I then felt extremely on edge for a while as we didn't want any issues as we regularly frequent the mercure and honestly enjoy our stay each time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I was visiting Scotland for a few days. The Mercure was located, within walking distance of the beach, shops and the railway station. I enjoy travelling, so having the railway station nearby was an extra bonus! If you enjoy golf, you could visit the Royal Troon Golf Club, which is a few miles away, and there are daily sailings from Troon Harbour to the Isle of Arran! I found everyone to be lovely. My special thanks to the chef who kindly offered to prepare some vegetarian sausages which were delicious! Thank you.

No comments. There was nothing to dislike. Scotland was lovely to visit.

Good location in Ayr. Handy for the beach and town centre. Pleasantly surprised to see Mahou availble on draught at the bar. Breakfast was good. We stayed in a superior double room which comprised off the main bedroom area, with a second room off of it, with 2 additional beds, which was good because it meant my wife and I could stay up a bit later and watch TV, whilst my infant son went to bed - hotel provide a cot for use at no additional charge.

I liked the comfort of the hotel, everything necessary is there. I enjoyed the breakfast but I would like more rolls, more of an assortment of breads. I would like more yogurts and fruit salad. I loved the dinner, really delicious. The staff were excellent: there but not there :always there when I needed them and knowledgeable about everything to do with the hotel and discreet and in the background at other times.. The staff were helpful in explaining how the breakfast service works and at dinner they were very attentive. There was always someone on reception. Very pleasant stay.

The first morning there was a hair in the bath, however the bathroom was better cleaned later that day.The room cleaning could have been done more nicely.The electricity socket didn't always work first time when I plugged the kettle in and my phone charger.

Check in was easy, Receptionist was cheerful and helpful,, no problems anywhere.

Car park was full when we arrived but there is parking across the road. Didn't like the seagulls, a bit noisy with the pub across the road as people sitting outside on a fine night but quiet after 11 o'clock. These are things outside your control. I am not a cooked breakfast person so maybe a continental breakfast could be an option included in the price with a voucher system for a cooked breakfast

Very clean and perfect location, nice decor and most staff were very helpful. Saturday at breakfast Donald and other man were great and chatty and friendly. Reception ladies and bar staff were very friendly.

Second day at breakfast the staff were unhelpful and grumpy, young staff member in black uniform running about but the man on welcome was not that helpful and hardly any food out, asked for Scottish porridge but never got it.

Went to see the Ayr Show. Good access to city centre, shops and restaurants. A short walk to the beach. Ideal for the Ayr Show. Staff friendly. Breakfast was fabulous and filling. Good selection. Staff were happy to make a cheese omelette on request. Family room spacious and comfortable. We had an excellent stay. We recommend highly.

We have no negatives other than tried to book next year but hotel is fully booked.

Staff lovely. Beds clean and comfy.

Room was too hot so had to leave window open, but woken at crack of dawn with noisy seagulls. Don't need that amount of heat during the night. Also, think a wee shortbread or other biscuit on the coffee/tea tray would have been nice and a socket for the kettle, situated at the kettle. For the price of the room, the bathroom tiles could do with refreshing.. looks a bit dated and tired. Chair at dressing table very basic and badly stained. Needs a clean.

Room size was great. Very comfortable and clean. Loved having the bath facility aswell as shower. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Good value for money.

Would've preferred the option of later check out. When requested n offer to pay extra for it we were told can't be accommodated. The leisure facilities need to be used before your check out time at 11am. We were booked at a show at the gaiety theatre the night of our stay. So time we checked in, had food, attended show and used the in room bath facilities and breakfast being til 9.30am. When we tried book facilities needed to be used by 11am. We were looking forward to using them so that could be something for premises to consider for future guests and bookings.

This is a 3 star hotel in the centre of Ayr with 4+star staff. Being disabled and elderly, the receptionist was happy to change my booking to a wet room as the hotel only have showers over the bath. At breakfast, again the staff were very obliging and offered to give us table service which we gladly accepted.

Whoever put the soap dispensers in the wet room must have been a giant with arms like Mr Tickle! In the shower space, there was a fold down seat which was great but the dispensers were as far away from that seat and above head height as could be! And of course we had to paddle to get to the toilet and sink for the rest of the evening.
