We had a lovely pleasant stay for 3 nights. Rooms upstairs below the pub which was a advantage as when I wanted a quiet night upstairs, I knew my partner was fine in the bar below. Also our pug came along for his first holiday. Very clean and tidy and reasonably priced. We had a comfortable stay, I also liked that everything was to hand eg tea bags, milk and toilet rolls means you don’t have to bother staff. Would definitely return when in the area again.

Only one thing I would say is we needed more pillows not just one each.

Excellent breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and made us and our pooch feel really welcome, Archie loved the attention from the reception and cleaning staff. Massive choice of beers and much cheaper than at home. We would definitely use the Ambrose again if we were in the area.

We had been in Keswick and then travelled to the South Lakes Zoo. Afterwards, we decided that instead of driving back to scotland we would stay another night away. Being in Barrow-in-Furness, we chose the Ambrose. Very good location to the shops and food. There was a communal fridge in the hall, which meant we could buy and keep our drinks cold, definitely a wee bonus for the warm nights into mornings! The room was clean and comfortable, very good value.

Only stayed one night, so everything was as expected

I lost my wallet in the bar area, it was handed in. The staff are very friendly. Excellent choice of beer. Very friendly pub goers. Rooms very clean. Brilliant place to watch sport on the TV in the bar area.

Couldn't get the TV to work. The rooms need to be updated to be a bit modern. No hot food to buy. The bed squeaked all the time.

Amazing hotel at very affordable prices. Lovely staff and great beer too ❤️. Can't wait too stay again. Also great pool and darts room which is bonus. Also loads of tea/coffee making facilities on the landing too, so don't even have too ask if ya like a good brew or three ahaha.

Only issue we had was that the lights didn't give off much light in the bedroom and the bathroom light would constantly flicker.

Last minute booking. It’s accessible to everything and easy to find. Its industrial environment does not justify the warmth of the place and people.

When you walk in, the entrance to the hotel was directly above the television where everyone was watching the show and the people coming in.

The room was beautiful nice and clean and beds was so comfortable could of done with a couple more pillows but would definitely come again

As its a pub asweell bit loud of a night time when relaxing as we was on the front but as for the hotel it's self ive got no complaints

Good stay, free parking available .

Live loud music until 11pm and we've been given only the room key, not the front door as well.

Location was excellent, staff were very helpful & accommodating, great for a weekend stay free parking in pubs car park, only ten minute walk to most of towns venues, if your on a budget its a reasonable price & stay.

Not sure if it would be good for disabled people but wouldn't want to put people down it would be worth a phone call to see if they could accommodate. There was a bit of pub music noise but didn't put me off.
