The breakfast and dinner were as we expected, very good quality but just surroundings a little dated but in keeping and expected that from the booking photos, all staff were excellent! Pool was lovely, room quiet at rear with a view and large window for air in hot weather. Check out 11am. Room service if required and a bar.

The cleaners could have done little more, especially in our bathroom, it had dirt around the toilet base and not the cleanest room overall. Dated surroundings often does make it an environment where cleaners can be overwhelmed, not too surprised but this was out only issue and for the money we were very pleased with our stay. The spa was booked up for treatments, I wish I’d have checked this before booking but the. Again we did book fairly last minute.

Very handy to get to as it is situation just off the main road and has ample parking. The hotel has a spa which they managed to fit us in with at very last minute. The hotel has a very nice feel to it and has a variety of rooms to relax in outside of the room. The staff are amazing. Very accommodating and they are clearly very good at their job. They made our stay a million times better.

It does not have a secure, indoor space to keep bicycle - just an outside rack. However, the staff were very accommodating, moved us to a downstairs room and allowed us to keep our bikes in the room.

We would like to compliment all of the staff that we came into contact with during our weekend stay, everyone was really helpful and upbeat, nothing was too much trouble. The Manager kindly put a heater in our room when we were feeling the cold. The senior waitress at breakfast, Linda, was very helpful and we shared some comical moments with her, all in good taste. Our evening meal in the bar was good and the breakfast choices were plentiful. The building is obviously well established and had some lovely features. We didn't use any of the spa facilities on this occasion.

The lift was a little unsettling and maybe needs updating when funds allow. The whole building needs a little TLC but it wouldn't stop us from visiting again and we appreciate how the whole of Hospitality and Leisure Businesses have suffered since Covid and the Lockdown period. Still need to stress how lovely the staff were and all dressed nicely in uniforms.

Even though it was on a busy road i couldnt hear the traffic. The hotel was very dog friendly and 'Bella' was warmly welcomed. There was a dog bed, bowls, towels and treats with an option to buy. There was an additional heater in the room which i used as it got cold. Oh the decor was lovely. It was clean. The staff were brill.

Maybe warning of minimum toiletries. There was soap. There was tea/coffee maybe herbal teabags. Also maybe you have plans of recycling in the future.

Check was smooth friendly and efficient. Lady checking us in was very pleasant and helpful. The room was much bigger than we expected and was nicely decorated. We liked the colour changing fire particularly and the large shower. There was lots of storage room and lots of space to move about in both the room and bathroom. All was clean and pleasant. Breakfast was very quiet but full English was fresh with good ingredients. Buffet part was basic, but fine for us as we long as we have the full English we would not really take much from this anyway. We ate a meal in the bar area with family and the food was lovely, all tasty, well presented and freshly cooked. We really enjoyed it. Bar staff were pleasant and friendly.

Our only gripe was the size of the bed in the large room. The room could have easily accommodated a slightly larger bed. It seems smaller than a standard double as we kept elbowing each other in the night. However, the mattress was comfy and the bedding was nice and clean. I think the bed is one of the most important things in a hotel stay so was a bit puzzled as to why there was such a small bed in such a large space. We did mention this on checkout and the receptionist acknowledged our comments with grace and politeness.

The reception was lovely looking, very pleasant and helpful staff. The room itself had everything we needed.

We were told we were moved rooms to be closer to other guests. I wouldn't have mind but didn't feel it necessary to know what was more convenient for the staff. Due to being moved rooms our soap dispenser in the shower hadn't been filled. We used the provided bar so it wasn't an issue. We still had 20 minutes before check out and we were knocked on by the cleaners which made us feel rushed to leave. We were excited to use the pool but the water didn't look too clean. The smoking area needs updating/repairing as the stools looked like they had been stolen from a pub and the fence is on its way to falling off completely.

We booked a double bed room, but we changed to a twin room. The room had an ironing board very clean, tea facilities very clean. We also had a fan in the room because it was quite hot outside, and we also asked for a second one, and the staff were very kind and provided. The hotel has a beautiful restaurant where we eat 1 night and it was delicious. The downstairs area is beautiful, the hotel also has a fish pod.

The door at the bathroom needs a paint as it was off from the repetitive steam. Otherwise, we don't have many comments.

the staff were fantastic, Amanda in the restaurant, Anthony and Mary in reception, plus another lady whose name i can not recal. nothing was too much trouble, food in the olive tree was lovely. tesla charge points at the rear for three tesla's (7kwh home chargers), two fast chargers available at £15 per go but the tesla ones were fine for overnight. the heating failed on the first night, staff brought an electric heater in straight away. the following day the boiler died and the staff had a full house for the weekend for a large 180 plus function and they worked a minor miracle to ensure they had enough heaters for every room. they all went the extra mile including the husband of someone who worked there came in to lend a hand. incredible service. the building is a bit tired but the seriously the satff were fantastic and everyone spoke English as their first language which helps when one is deaf and lip reads to understand and communicate

the weather but that wasnt an issue as we were their for an ill relative

Staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful. A real credit to the hotel! Breakfast was spot on, well cooked and delicious.

The pool was a little dirty and some of the ledges were broken so a little dangerous. The room was lovely but we did find a few things that the previous occupants must have left behind so we questioned the cleanliness a little. Overall a little dated but still a nice stay!

Loved the lovely spacious room and quietness at the rear of the hotel. Staff were really friendly at reception and dining room. Pool area was nice and relaxing. Plenty of car parking space.

My wife and I are vegan and try to avoid sugar. We would have liked some more fresh items for breakfast, especially the bread. Plant based yoghurt would have been a nice option too, so found breakfast a little old fashioned. At the price of the room, I would have expected proper fresh bread. Unfortunately our bathroom (room 138) had a bad effluent smell. We reported this to reception on check-out.
