It was very welcoming and clean, and the location was easy to get to, the hotel has its own parking, which was an added bonus. We had a comfortable nights stay. The hotel was ideal, we booked for an overnight stay for a concert (Deep Purple). It made our trip an easy, pleasant one. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It was also lovely to see the aircraft, landing, and taking off, yet there was no noise (triple glazing). The bar and lounge were also a plus, the breakfast was delicious, and attention to detail was noticed. Nigel, the host, was very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. The location is great. with the hotel being close to bus stops for NEC (only two bus stops away from NEC) or Birmingham Central. Rooms were clean and matress was comfortable. View of airport runway from the window of our room was a bonus to see airplanes taking off and was not very noisy due to the good level of glazing (slept well).

Central heating went on/off during the evening leaving the room feeling on the cool side. This was mentioned to the staff and a oil filled radiator was provided and sorted the issue. Wi-Fi just acceptable for HD streaming on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed but buffering was an issue on one night. No shaver power point in the bathroom of the room we were in. Main room with en--suite that we stayed in was a bit 'tight' but very workable for a short stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Tri Star Hotel. Nigel was most accommodating and helpful. When I explained I had slight mobility issues, he immediately arranged for a ground-floor room for me. The room was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was freshly cooked to order, (not kept warm as in a help-yourself buffet). Parking was easy and the location for the airport and NEC are excellent. I will most certainly stay there again, (and again).

There was nothing that I didn't like.

The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. Excellent sound proofing and comfortable bed - I slept very well. The breakfast was well cooked and tasty and the staff were very friendly. I felt very welcome. Very short drive to the NEC which I needed. If you love planes this would be the perfect room as you can see Birmingham Intl runway from the bedroom window. More affordable than many of the other hotels nearby

Shower was a little small but not too bad. Nothing I really didn't like.

Host was very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was great, close to where we needed to be, windows were treble glazed so road noise was minimal,tea and coffee facilities in room, plenty of car parking space, and good view of planes taking off and landing from the back. We could've had an evening meal there if we'd wanted, and the lounge looked comfortable. There was a bar and pool table for visitors use, so if you're not going out you have something to do and come out of your room.

Kettle lead didn't safely reach the plug, mouldy shower cubicle ceiling, toilet roll hanging touching radiator-fire hazard. Sandwiched between busy main road and airport, but we did know that when we booked. It did everything we needed it to do, but don't book this and expect luxury. It's good value, and does exactly what it says on the tin!!

Nigel was so accommodating,even making sure if he wasn’t there that we would still be able to get in early . Nothing was too much . Room 11 was clean and the beds were so comfy . Best night sleep for a long time . Nigel arranged the taxi in the morning to take us to the airport which is literally 5 mins in the cab. Wouldn’t advise walking ,busy road . We ate at the hotel and the food was lovely . Would definitely stay again and recommend it to others

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. For a value hotel it certainly goes above and beyond. I highly recommend it. Friendly staff, attention to detail, a homely feel, great value for money, fantastic breakfast. What more do you want. Arrived late and Nigel stayed and chatted to me in the bar over a drink. When next in town will visit again for sure.

On the whole everything was great.

Good location next to Birmingham Airport and NEC. Simple hotel (actually a guesthouse) family run, very friendly and helpful manager. Nothing was too much for Nigel, and we had a good chat at the bar too. Cancelled flight caused me to use the hotel, and I booked and then arrived in a 15 minute window. All was as expected and Nigel reopened the kitchen to get me some food.

The guy there was very friendly yet professional and was very helpful. I arrived exhausted after training all day and I was leaving at 3.30am for my flight. He arranged a taxi for me and a ground floor room.

The rooms are quite basic for the price. Very very clean but my room was so small the wardrobe was in the bathroom

Nigel is an absolute star, This is what staying at a family run hotel is all about, nothing was too much bother and he was happy to advise on local eateries. However the hotels own food choices were good enough for us. Full English Breakfast was quick to appear. Organised taxi to NEC every day for us. Very congenial host at the bar after a long day at Crufts, we put the world to right, lol. Highly Recommend the Tr-Star
