Excellent location for beach, pier, aquarium and wheel. The room was spacious and had everything you would expect in a hotel room. We had the buffet breakfast each morning, which was very nice and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The reception team were also very friendly and helpful.

When we arrived there were no parking spaces available, and you weren't able to prebook a parking space. There didn't appear to be enough spaces for all the guests, and some were directed to nearby car parks. We were lucky as someone checked out while we were taking our luggage to the room, so we got a space.

The family room was very good

First time i stay in a hotel that I'm not allowed to leave the luggage after checking out. I do think the hotel must review that rule. I travelled with my family and took everything to the beach with me was not an option. The hotel opened an exception for me which i appreciate, but i do not think this should be an exception, in particular if you travel by train. I like the hotel but will not stay there again if i travel by train (by car it's fine you can leave in the car) and everyone who asks for recommendation i raise this point because for many people is a no-break.

The hotel was lovely in all public areas. The visit was during the festive period and the hotel had a lovely Christmas feel to it with the decorations around the ground floor.

I understand that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations as the 2nd floor was out of service during our stay. I can see the need for the renovations as whilst the room was comfortable, the decoration was quite tired with peeling wallpaper. I would like to visit again once the renovations have been completed. If you travel here at the moment expecting a 4 start hotel, it doesn't quite live up to expectations, but 2025 may be quite different.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was fantastic with great views. The staff were attentive and helpful. The Hotels location is great for the Christmas gardens, the town, the prom, and the BIC. The hotel is going through a refresh, which is long overdue, and our friends had one of the newly refreshed room which they told us was fantastic.

The suite was a little tired, curtain tracks didn't work correctly, the bathroom sink plug was faulty, and the heating didn't work, Although electric radiators were readably available, unfortunately our shower al though morden and clean had a pretty useless flow. Parking is somewhat limited, but there's little that could be done about that. The parking charge of £14 a night seems a little steep.

Hotel very good although rooms and bathrooms were a bit on the small side but overall very adequate. Stopped on 4th floor which has recently been refurbished to a standard. Work in construction so am probably a bit picky on standard and thought the quality of the refurb left a bit to be desired. New doors not centered, toilet seat broken, poor finishing around lift call button on 4th floor etc.

Would have saved £42 in parking charges if I had booked with the hotel direct and not booking.com

Location is great. We stayed in 2 different rooms. 1st room had a sea view and king size bed, 2nd room had no view and double bed. Loved the fact 2nd room had lovely walk in shower. 1st room had shower over bath, but we appreciated the grab rails. Tea & coffee making in room was nicely stocked, and 2 bottles of water appreciated. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Bedside lights were good and nice to have tissues in the room. Lovely toiletries.

I don't like having to pay for parking, although I understand why it is necessary. Breakfast was a little chaotic as only 1 coffee/tea dispenser was working. Much preferred the days when tea/coffee was brought to the table. They kept running out of things, such as eggs and hash browns, so had to wait with a plateful of food. The sausages and mushrooms were very peppery. In our 2nd room, 601, the key didn't work, and we had to be let in with a master key, meaning we were unable to lock the door from the outside. We were told to ask a staff member to lock it for us, but we knew they were always busy so didn't ask.

The location of the hotel is excellent, situated very near the beach, the food is good, the size of the rooms are good, they kept the area and the room clean despite people walking around with sand on their feet. The staff are friendly and professional, very helpful and respectful.

We were given a room at the rear end of the hotel, a big one with an extra room to play hide and seek but all you see from the windows are ferns, walls and no view at all. We were expecting a good or a better view from the windows. That is why you booked a hotel near the beach correct? But instead you got the store room at the back. Very accessible and quiet anyway.

Perfect location by beach. We were there for a graduation day so we were right by the event locations and the restaurant for the later celebrations. The room was great - on the top floor with a wonderful sea view around the bay. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Despite being in a central location the room was well insulated.

On arrival we were at the reception with two staff members there, one started to attend to our check in and then decided to answer the telephone leaving us waiting. The other staff member just walked off. We could not understand the call as it was not in English but we were told by the staff member that he was already "dealing with this customer before we arrived." It was not very welcoming! Having to pay for parking on top of not insubstantial rate for a room is a little excessive. I saw the sign "parking" and assumed it was free! The room was fine but the hanging space for two people was very limited, especially if there for an event so a bit cramped for long dresses/suit hangers.

We were upgraded to a deluxe double room on arrival, it had been recently refurbished, overlooking Bournemouth pier. Amazing views & perfect location. Hairdryer, Iron & Ironing board, tea/coffee/ kettle. Complimentary water, TV & Air conditioning in the room. Bathroom had bath with overhead shower which was powerful & hot. The loo was a bit ‘ squashed in’ but okay for us. It was immaculately clean. Staff were friendly & helpful. Limited parking, so we had to park off site costing £22.00 for 24 hrs. Breakfast was good, but had to wait for replenishment items as it was busy, both coffee machines out of action, but wasn’t a problem for us. Perfectly located hotel, well deserving of its 4* status.

We paid over £180 for one night in July, for us this is expensive, but the location is perfect, staff are friendly & hotel is immaculate so you get what you pay for I suppose.

For me the most important part of a hotel stay is the care and attention by reception and guest services and how inviting they are, and make you feel. Ali at Hermitage Hotel in Bournemouth is the finest example of the best customer care. He was very polite from the beginning, gave me a map and informed me about all of the various amenities within the Oceana Collection of hotels, as well as memorable sites in the neighborhood. I checked in at 9pm, so he checked and found some available rooms at that time and gave me a lovely upgrade to a seaview room. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, very clean, modern, tiled bathroom and well ventilated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and what I experienced was a very high level luxury experience. This hotel and its staff, especially Ali, are very concerned about every tiny detail that facilitates a happy, memorable experience for its guests. Out of 5 Stars, I would give this hotel 10 stars. They are an example with which I hope other luxury hotels take note. Breakfast was delicious, common area furniture is decorated with wonderful taste. The hotel is a few steps from the beach, pier, bus stops, town centre and local tourist attractions. I highly recommend it to anyone and I take great pleasure in writing this review. Every member of the Hermitage Hotel teams needs to be commended for their contributions to an outstanding guest experience. Thank you.
