stayed for three nights....all breakfasts exactly as we requested, served with efficiency and cheerfulness. Two nights evening meals taken in the bar area, third night in the restaurant, all excellent with good service throughout.
The room was exactly as we expected, cleaned daily and fully equipped. the only observation we would make would be to make a suggestion that a grab rail be installed on the side wall of the shower - as one inevitably gets older, the wet-room concept can be a little hazardous for those of us who are 'getting on a bit!!' Just a suggestion.

My wife and I have stayed in many hotels in our 35 years of marriage and the White Heart is close to being the best of them in the UK. No spa, No Swimming pool etc, they just get the basics absolutely spot on. So many, alleged top quality hotels fail to do so. Excellent service from every member of the team, decor in the room impeccable (also matching the main building) superb food. And when you ask for a variation on the menu , you are told “of course, that’s no problem at all” I wonder if they realise even the little thing of serving the meals from a brought out trestle table adds to the style of the whole hotel. Well done to all and thank you.
Absolutely nothing.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. We were expecting a lot from dinner due to all the accolades displayed in the bar and we were mostly happy apart from my main of ribeye steak and rosti with the steak being poor quality and the attempt to hide the burnt rosti by turning it over! All in all we did enjoy the meal and Luke and his team were excellent. The room was spacious, lovely and clean with a very comfy four poster bed.
Large part of the wardrobe taken up with small tea making facilities leaving very minimal space for clothes in the much smaller section. Tv could do with updating as old and small for the distance from where you watch it from. Light on bathroom mirror not working and extractor fan stayed on all the time.

Staff were very fantastic and really friendly all throughout our stay. Dinner was fantastic, absolutely delicious. Breakfast was also very nice. Check in process was very easy. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Perfect tea making facilities also. Would recommend 100%
If they had room service offering breakfast in the room that would have been an extra bonus. Perhaps increase the choice of flavoured cider also, as there was currently one choice. All very minor things

The Hotel, Lounge/Bar and Restaurant were excellent, beyond 5 star. The local beer and wine most enjoyable. We tend to eat-out once often twice a week. We cannot recall having 3 courses each of which were marvelous (usually 1 is good, sometimes 2 but to get 3 out of 3 is close to being unheard of).
The room was disappointing. Dark, strange curtain arrangement. The bathroom was an odd size, a relatively large room but with a very small round toilet/wc. Yes round! No bog-brush. The shower had a central drain, which oK, but the flooor tiles were slanted to drain which meant you stood on a slant for your shower! Actually the room was OK/fine really, but the standard of the Bar and Restaurant was so high that the defieciences of the room seem out of proportionly poor.

A 500 year-old timber-frame house converted to a hotel without losing any of its character; it's wonderful. All the facilities, the restaurant, the staff, etc were all excellent. A really enjoyable stay.
We didn't like the music in the restaurant. It was a bit too loud and too modern, but we always think that. Something calm and classical would have seemed more appropriate, and there's plenty of 16th/17th century music. Other people probably thought it was fine!

Lovely room with own entrance. Clean and cosy. Our room was adapted for disabled people, so our sink was low in our bathroom. But it’s great that they have adapted the entrance and bathroom to be wheelchair friendly. The menu for dining was not large, but the food is great! We stayed two nights and both nights we dined at the hotel. Various types of proper English breakfast were offered. Would have been nice to have a “buffet table” for cereals and yogurt though

The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. We arrived early and were not expecting our rooms to be ready for us, however, they were. Rooms were lovely and spacious with all the amenities required - lovely to actually have a proper coffee maker! We booked this hotel as we had vouchers for the nearby English Spirit Distillery (can highly recommend this too!) which was a short walk through this very picturesque village. Breakfast was included within the price and was a lovely spread of cereals, fruit, hot cooked food (Vegetarian breakfast was spot on), tea, coffee and juices. Location is good, hotel is absolutely stunning and the service we received was excellent.
If I have to be picky the mattress was a lot harder than what we were used to, but was still comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. My partner did find the shower pressure a little low but again, this would not put me off staying again.

The food is spectacular and the breakfast really excellent. The food the evening before was incredible. Highly recommend eating at the restaurant, and the outside seating for coffee was amazing with lovely countryside atmosphere. The staff were lovely and helpful and when a bedside light would not work, they made an effort to bring one in that was working, so were keen to help.
Thre was some dust on the appliances in the room.

The room was large, comfortable and clean. It had everything that we needed for a weekend stay. The wet room was huge and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. They offered advice about the area and the food and wine. The food in the restaurant was excellent with two menus to choose from. We were able to enjoy a wide range of choices, but all beautiful cooked and prepared. Ample parking in a delightful setting, so all in all a fabulous place to eat and stay.
Nothing.
