The staff are the best thing about this hotel and I hope that management appreciate how wonderful they are. We had an issue with the room (see negative comments), and they gave us a much better option. The person on front desk (I didn’t get their name, but they had blond hair and a nose ring) was so understanding and didn’t make us feel like we were asking too much. They transformed my stay from a 1 star to an 8 star , and to be honest, if we’d been not put in the first room, my review would have been 10/10. The breakfast is also very good

We booked a family room and we were initially put in a room above the boiler . It was super super hot and I didn’t manage to sleep. There was a fan that didn’t really cool anything down, but made a lot of noise. The fan interfered with the TV, so we couldn’t watch anything, and even if we could, we wouldn’t be able to hear it over the loud fan. I see that others have made the same comment, and even despite this, no steps have been taken to cool the rooms (it wasn’t a hot day or anything). If this is a common complaint from people who stay, then you should either stop putting people in that room/ rooms, or find a more permanent solution.

staff very polite and attentive at reception and in the dining room. Bed was very comfortable The grounds were really lovely, very quiet and peaceful

the room was a little dated especially the bathroom, which had been painted very roughly and not finished off properly around the door and spills of paint dried and left on the floor. the tiles and grout behind the toilet could do with cleaning or replacing along with the underneath of the soap dish over the bath. The soap and shampoo at the shower/bath is too high for anyone taking a bath which in turn is a saftey problem for the bather. The bedroom was clean but not to a high standard.saying this, nothing was too bad to enjoy.

Overall great little hotel in the middle of the countryside. It was perfect for a night and exactly what we were expecting. The breakfast was excellent, and we were given a large room on the top floor with a large comfortable bed and windows looking out west and north. The hotel surroundings were really beautiful.

The deco leading to the rooms is rather dated: whilst the room was very large with high ceilings, the blue carpet, gloss beige corridors with narrow staircases and heavy fire doors leading to the room somewhat reminded me of my halls of residence in 1998! But given the price was reasonable, not really something to complain about!

The location was superb. The beds were comfy and veryyyy big.. Free coffee at the reception was nice. The room had a huge wardrobe making it easier to manage your bags and avoid cluttering in the room.

The flush capacity was really low due to which you had to flush after poop at least 3-6 times. The shower was a big disappointment, the water temperature control system was super bad. You could either burn yourself or die in cold freezing temperature, because even after setting the temperature as per your need, you would get extremely hot and extremely cold water in between.

Loved the style of the room. Great staff very friendly. Coffee machine in the room was great. Breakfast was good for the money. Great products in the bathroom such as hand wash etc.

Bridal bedroom said garden view but was just grass with a massive Bush not an amazing view. But the grounds were lovely. Put as a special request valentines day. In other hotels I've stayed in they have put flowers on the bed or rose petals. Just a little touch that would be been nice. Food at the brasserie was good, could do with more of a vibe such as upbeat music. But overall was a good place to say.

Room upgrade was very welcome. Food was great and a very well stocked buffet for breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and room well equipped.

There seemed to be a bit of confusion about taking our order for dinner waiters walked by several times to serve people who sat down after. Had to call someone over to place order. However when it arrived it was very good. Nice surprise to get a room upgrade but just one observation the furniture and bathroom are looking fairly worn and tired and could do with a refurb, but the main thing is the room was spotless and bed comfortable.

We loved the spacious rooms with big double beds - we had a family room for 2 adults + 1 child. The hotel was very peaceful and spacious generally. The staff were friendly and helpful, with a particular mention to Emma. We loved the super breakfast, including gluten free bread and cereal for one of us, who is a Coeliac. The whole stay was very good value.

Disappointing evening meal from the bar. The food wasn't very good and was very overpriced. I had a Caesar salad that cost £18 (as far as I recall - included paying extra for optional chicken with the salad, which I would have thought would surely not be additional!).

I turned up really early because of the weather conditions. I was made very welcome, and while I was some hours ahead of check in, was able to work from one of the lounges. later discovered no USB points in the rooms, but was lent a charger. Was part of an event for dinner, the food was very good.

a bit dated, but had charm. maybe somewhat understaffed at times. Is this 4 star? Room was spacious and comfortable. But for the price would have liked USB charging points, and plugs by the bed, and a coffee machine.

The welcoming and pleasant staff and that it's dog friendly. The breakfast was nice and plenty of it.

The rooms were a little bit dated I'm probably a bit biased as I'm a decorator and they are past their best,. The house at the entrance to the hotel have 2 huge dogs which terrified my wife and dog. ( these won't bother you unless you walk past their gates). This is nothing that the hotel can control.

Very friendly and helpful staff, generous sized room, good and clean, nice decor and a beautiful building and grounds. The grounds were brilliant for exercising my dog - and a pleasure to hang out in. Loved that you can use WhatsApp to order room service, and food was decent.

Quite a hard used room, and the hotel was very busy what we stayed - a big wedding on - which meant it was very noisy, and our sleep wasn’t great. Not the hotel’s fault really, but worth being aware of if you like if really quiet! Lots of little extra charges rather added up. Instant coffee, would have you covered a nespresso or cafetière at this price point.
