Comfortable and quiet, with great closet and drawers. Fabulous location with beautiful grounds, within minutes’ walk to the heart of old Cambridge. Porters lodge very helpful, as were the kitchen staff. Excellent cooked breakfast menu :)

Since they were student accommodations, the carpet was unfortunately stained, and the wonderfully large desk counter also had several permanent “damage marks.” Made the mistake of not enquiring about accessibility as I was travelling with my elderly father, who had to navigate two flights of stairs, albeit user-friendly ones :) The shower bathtub was also not accessible.

It was wonderful to be in the middle of everything and to experience life in a Cambridge College seeped in history and learning. The room was large and clean and had everything we needed. The tea and coffee facilities included cookies, and it was wonderful to have coffee with a cookie and watch the college waking up. Breakfast was taken in the Halls with the students and was good and delicious. As Christ's College is in the middle of the town everything was within easy walking distance. I cannot think of a better way of experiencing Cambridge. Everyone was friendly - I would do it again!

My daughter and I stayed for one night as she was at an event in the college the next day . Stunning grounds and buildings, a private world of peace tucked away off one of the central streets . A superb start to our first time on Cambridge . The first college we had been in and a lovely insight into living within a college . The Porters who check you in were super helpful and welcoming . Talking us through the facilities . Our room was student accommodation and great for providing my daughter with an insight into the reality of that provision . one of the two college cats welcomed us in the evening as we passed him as we strolled to our room and he was as there again the morning .It was clean, well maintained and quiet . We enjoyed breakfast the next morning , the staff were very friendly and attentive . Beautiful venue and superb value for money, I just wish we had been able to stay longer. Thanks to everyone for making a stay in Christ’s so special.

Property was in an excellent location for walking and cycling the city of Cambridge. We also loved walking through the centre of the college. Breakfast was an excellent selection of food served in a student dining area.

We were initially a bit disappointed that our room wasn’t in the historic part of the college but in more modern buildings at the back of the college. The exorbitant cost of parking was an unpleasant reality - for us 80 pounds for less than 48 hours .

The staff were very helpful when I arrived. I got to see the chapel at night time and they also gave me info where to go within the college and outwith the college grounds for sightseeing. The room was spacious and in the new building there were lifts. I would come back again.

I couldn't see where to turn the heating down as it was too warm for me to sleep. Although there was a lift to the Upper Hall, I wasn't sure if I could use this as it was also used for the kitchen in the Upper Hall. I just took my time going up and down the stairs. There was a slight problem with my breakfast but that was sorted out quick by the staff.

This was a great place to stay for a quick overnight. Finding my room was a little confusing, but I eventually found the room with no issues. Everything in the room was perfect for one person for an overnight and they even provided a few amenities like tea, coffee, biscuits, and toiletries. Breakfast was buffet style in another building, so it was easy to take my rucksack with me to breakfast and check out afterwards.

The room was cold overnight and I couldn't figure out how to turn on the heat, so I think better instructions for the heater would help. The bathroom was up a step so don't forget in the middle of the night!

It’s a college student room! It has a bed, a chair and very convenient table with lots of space. The bed was very comfy and the room and bath room were clean. The bathroom was a little small but en-suite. The heating and the wi-fi were excellent. The carpet was not clean and had stains which was no problem for me. check in and check out were very simple and quick. Staff were like college staff, serious!, caring and helpful. The location was perfect in city center and super convenient. Considering the price, it is highly recommended!

New carpet add value to the room

Porters were very friendly and helpful. The grounds were lovely. The bed was comfortable and the place was spotless and the furnishings are new. We got fresh towels every day if we wanted them. The old double hung windows opened and we looked out on an attractive quad. The hot water was plentiful in our en-suite bathroom (a must) and the shower was great. I recommend getting the full English breakfast. It’s plentiful and good quality. For wheat eaters there is a vast array breads, croissant and pastry. Alas nothing for gluten free, only Schar cornflakes. Milk was cow or soy(same in the room). I went next door to Tesco Express and bought Oatly. Christ’s is incredibly central. Most other colleges are 5 minutes away,, same with the market place, several banks and there’s a cab rank across from Christ’s front entrance.

The internet was impossible to connect to my iPhone and iPad. After a lot of fiddling my husband’s laptop(Microsoft) finally connected. Other guests had the iPhone issue. The other problem is seasonal. Our room was freezing. Two nights we had to sleep with our coats on the duvet. It was freezing in the dining hall at breakfast. Finally the college turned on the heat when the night temps were in the 40s. We were fine dragging luggage up to the third floor (in our 70s) since there were lots of landings. But be aware.

The ancient buildings, the garden, the setting, the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff. The nearness to the other colleges.

The pod bathroom had a slight smell of urine, I don't think it was due to poor cleaning, I think it was probably to do with the construction. But it did not affect my enjoyment. Aesthetically the modern block I was staying in encapsulated all that I find unattractive in last century architecture. The vastness of the concrete is an eyesore and I don't see an easy way to soften it. Merely a personal view, there will be many people who admire brutalist architecture. It is probably listed. I didn't mind the vast flight of steps up to the entrance, but I didn't enjoy seeing two chaps having to lift what looked like multiple heavy bed frames or mattresses up them. What poor design not to have a lift.

Brilliant location and access to the college gardens - I would stay here again in future. Beats staying in a hotel, replacing the hotel luxuries with amazing garden views and centre of town location! And you can also have breakfast at the dining hall which I enjoyed - again pretty unique experience compared to staying in a regular hotel!

I had researched what to expect so the fact that bathroom was down the corridor and the rooms are basic didn’t bother me at all. For the price you pay, you get a student room in a great location. In the old building, the floorboards are noisy so if you’re a light sleeper, perhaps go with a room in the newer building.
