We did not have breakfast as we had to leave early to start working. The room was very large and well furnished with plenty of storage space. The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was exceptional - plenty of space, good water pressure and the choice between a walk-in shower or a separate bath was appreciated. I liked the little touch of a small bag with individual soaps and shampoos - also it's the first place we've stayed in that had enough hangars!

My wife prefers a soft pillow but we suspect she may be the only person in the UK that expects one in hotels - otherwise no complaints.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Nigel, owner, is an a absolute star and always went the extra distance to ensure we were properly looked after, help with everything he could. Room was lovely and clean, facilities were spot on, bed was extremely comfy, and the parking was safe and secure. We were coming and going at all manner of hours, yet the property was always quiet and peaceful.

Stay was awesome! beautiful house with lovely rooms. The host Nigel was fabulous, will return for another stay for sure. Our room was extremely comfortable & very quiet no road noise. We spent 2 nights at the lodge & Loved every minute. Food in the area was fantastic too & is just a lovely quiet village. Looking forward to our next weekend stay there 😊

Nigel was very welcoming and helpful. He explained how everything worked, in particular getting in and out of the secure electric gates. This was a bonus to us as we were travelling in a classic car. Contact with him throughout our stay was via text and he always responded promptly. We didn't book the continental breakfast, so cannot comment on that. The room was very clean, a very large comfortable bed with fresh smelling linen. Bathroom had a lovely bath tub and also a large walk in shower. The room benefitted from Sky TV with Netflix, though not having this ourselves, we initially found it a little complicated to operate. However, Nigel was happy to advise.

In the description it said private bath.... I was not expecting to have to go out into the hall to use the bathroom. It was ours... not shared, but that was not clear in the marketing description

Only slight thing would be the bathroom not being in our room, however it was the only room that had that so was purely luck of the draw and wouldn't let that stop me booking there again, hopefully for a longer stay.

Borrowfield Lodge is a well-renovated house with a long history. The host Nigel was very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed chatting with him. He was very helpful and gave the best restaurant recommendations. Nigel offers a beautifully served breakfast with the best selection.

Stayed at Borrowfield Lodge for a couple of nights with my partner, what a lovely place! Nigel was more than accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us! He even sorted out a surprise I asked him to arrange for my partner for when we arrived at the lodge. Lots of nice pubs and places to eat within a short drive or walking distance. We walked to Elveston Castle to find they had a mini food/drink festival on, which was an added bonus! Room was perfect with everything we needed! Breakfast was also lovely with plenty of choice and Nigel ensuring we had everything we needed! Will 100% recommend this place and will stay again! Thank you for a great stay!

Brilliant stay at a fantastic place. Really warm welcome and hospitality throughout the stay. My hosts couldn’t do enough for me but also gave me space and time to enjoy my stay, a very nice balance. Immaculately clean. Smart TV in room a brilliant addition. Great transport links.
