We've always enjoyed the Selbourne as We've been before, however this time we were disappointed they only had entertainment one night out of our three.

First morning our breakfast was the dried up leftovers of a crowd of residents who were leaving that particular morning, as they were down for breakfast earlier and as hotel was empty kitchen hadn't bothered to make more fresh food. On last morning another two people were sitting at our table number so we had to sit opposite them and ask for table to be set as it hadn't been set up. All a bit disappointing.

Exceeded my expectations! At first glance of this hotel on arrival I was apprehensive as looked dates and run down, however, check in was fantastic, staff member was very welcoming and went above and beyond! Room was spotless and most importantly, the mattress was super comfy (compared to a recent stay in one of the other local hotels) and had a great night sleep! After all, that’s what my stay, for work purposes, was all about. Lovely to see that the hotel was busy, with live entertainment which finished at a really reasonable time to ensure a good night sleep.

N/A as everything was spot on!

The staff were excellent, allowed to check in a little early on arrival, room was very clean inclding bedding and towels, Bar Staff were great and played well with the Bingo, yes Bingo, just a little before the nights entertainment the Barman called the Bingo with a little cheek and was funny with it, the entertainment was by a duo called 'Accoustic Sounds' who were excellent and played to the crowd brilliantly with old and new music, breakfast menu catered for all and the waiting staff were very attentive, had a fantastic night there and would recommend to all.

There is not much to fault this Hotel, maybe the size of the room but as a Hotel standing for many years this could be expected but with no detrimental effect on our stay.

The receptionist was very welcoming and let us check in early. She was also really helpful and gave us a few names of restaurants in the town. We spent our evening in the newly refurbished lounge where there was entertainment on. Drinks where half price from 7-11 suffice to say we had a great night. All staff throughout the hotel where really nice and friendly and nothing too much bother for them. Bedroom in need of refurbishment, which we where told is in process of being done, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The view from the lounge, which have big picture windows is beautiful.

Breakfast was very basic but well cooked. Not really a complaint as such but just a suggestion that maybe Ingredients could be of a higher quality.

Location was great, Staff were lovely and always available to help out with anything. Jesus and Maron were really helpful at breakfast and loved our little girl who's a toddler. Thanks guys. 😊 oh and the breakfast was lovely. Really enjoyed it. There was night entertainment on and that was nice but mostly for people who are 60+ but it's still nice for a quiet night away. We will be back.

The rooms could do with a decorate as it's outdated but that's about it as they were very clean, comfortable and we had a great sleep.

Arrived early and staff were happy to look after our case as we went exploring Dunoon. Staff were warm and friendly throughout our trip. There was a couple of bus tours there and there was a half price bar with entertainment. Rooms are a little dated but then it is an older hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and had lots of options.

At breakfast we were seated at the window. Unfortunately there were four elderly people either side from bus tour who were a bit hard of hearing so we're quite loud. Maybe seating solo travelers on the edge of dining room may be a good idea.

The breakfast was excellent, Staff very attentive and entertainment was really good. We arrived at the same time as a couple of coach parties and I imagine that was why there was entertainment provided. Lovey views over the lawns to the water. We also had a three course dinner for £20 each which was very nice and the portions were more than ample

Not a thing

Perfect for a weekend in Dunoon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sea view was amazing. Good location. Obviously it’s an older, more classic seaside hotel which over time will get the refurb it needs, but the staff do a great job to make it welcoming and enjoyable. Recommend !

Pillows a bit hard for my personal preference.

I was looking for somewhere cheap to lay my head at night for a weekend festival, instead I found a clean, comfortable and well maintained hotel, with excellent staff within walking distance of the festival site. If we are playing again next year I will definitely re-book!

Nothing, it was great
