Great selection at breakfast served by pleasant and attentive staff. Ate 3 out of 4 nights in the hotel.. Good quality 'pub grub' at reasonable prices. Our room was a good size and the bed very comfortable, it overlooked the loch at the front. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

It was a very busy place, obviously well used for dining.. Music played till quite late both inside and outside. As the weather was very warm we had the window open and found the music a bit intrusive. Also the hotel is situated on a very busy road so traffic noise was also a bit of an issue. Obviously the position of the hotel cannot be helped... We did not complain as we had asked for a room overlooking the water but it might be an issue for some.

Room: Excellent sea view, room was lovely and clean, it had everything as described on the website, but our only complaint was that the window didn't open, even ajar. We asked for it to be opened, but the staff member gave us a perfectly good reason as to why it couldn't be opened oh and there was no loo brush :() Food: we ate every night in the restaurant and the food was excellent, Service was great and always with a little chat :) Breakfast: we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as we chose to go for a long walk before hand and ending up eating in Helensburgh

Totally my fault I thought I had booked B&B at the hotel turns out i had only booked Bed, it ended up being to our advantage as we got to go for long walks along the prom every morning before breakfast

Prompt and simple check-in and out; staff friendliness and efficiency; bar/restaurant/bedrooms all under one roof; great bathroom shower; scenic setting and views; nice outdoor deck area; and good access for vehicles.

No 'phone in bedroom; occasional unavailability of certain breakfast items (even eggs!); bedroom decor a bit rough around the edges/corners; toilet seat would not stay up unless prevented from falling by a towel draped over it on the cistern (this one was quite annoying!) Also, no toilet brush.

The location and the staff are lovely. It's a pretty hotel.

Not getting the room I booked. I booked 2 family rooms but only got one. We were given an accessible double on the ground floor instead. We were a family group of 4 adults and 2 children. One child to be in each room. Both children had to stay in the one family room. We were all given complimentary breakfast as compensation. The booking system needs to be tweaked. I did feel a bit disappointed I hadn't expected a sea view but I didn't expect the view of a skip from the double room.

Just been refitted, rooms are superb. This hotel deserves a much higher rating. Food well priced and good quality. Parking is easy and plentyfull. Staff are so helpful and friendly almost disappointed to leave. Have stopped here several ti.es over the last three years and this stay was the best ever. Special thanks to the night porter who made me coffee and chatted early doors 6am coz thats what time I get up. Great breakfast they customise everything to your tastes.

Few snags that the builders will sort during the reffit. We were onthe top floor no problem for us but if you are infirm it might be a bit much.

Great views, plenty of parking, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, good location. Dog friendly - he even got sausages at breakfast!!

Decor in the building generally was very good however our room had a badly peeling ceiling which was a little disappointing but is due to be sorted out soon. Being at the front of the hotel there was some traffic noise but didn’t appear a very busy road - quiet at night time.

Loved the facilities outside and the amazing view. The staff were very helpful and polite and the seating areas outside were perfect. Unfortunately we didn't eat there but the food looked amazing. The room was ready for me arriving early which was great.

The room was a bit neat for 2 people but still comfortable. I don't know if they forgot to fill the tea and coffee tray but we only had enough for one each and no complementary biscuits was was unusual.

Female receptionist at check-in wasn't very friendly and same Female was working behind bar later in day and had the same hostility towards everyone A bit more training in hospitality wouldn't go amiss with the girl

Fantastic place. Incredible views out across the sea and the hills to the right, stunning! Lovely character to the building. Nice food and pub with outside seating, pool table too. Room was nice, fairly basic but nice character to it. Staff were nice and very hard working. Seemed the same staff that worked the evening shift were already back up early to serve breakfast. Very dog friendly too, one of the staff got a small bowl and put some sausages in it for a dog at breakfast! Would definately return for a stay in the future.

It's a bit of a trek from the town centre. About half hour walk, which doesn't bother me good to note.

We were greeted in a lovely way, everything was examined to us. There was a problem with the lock on our door, nothing serious the batteries hadn't charged properly, and we were moved room immediately and the room we were moved to was even nicer than the one we were originally put in. The staff were delightful and we both slept better than we had in a long time. We will definitely be back.

I can honestly say there was nothing we didn't like.
