The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room was perfect and charming, cleanliness standards high. We had travelled up from England for a good friends funeral and requested an early check in to freshen up before attending and the staff met our request by making this possible. Stunning location to greet the morning with and when travelling up to visit again we will definitely would stay again.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing as the fried eggs were hard on the yolk and we didn’t have the heart to complain as there were a few other guests waiting for theirs. Plenty of choice on cereals toast etc

Brilliant location with lots of parking. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely cooked breakfast with perfect poached eggs. Beautiful immaculately clean room and bathroom.

I had asked for a water view if possible. We didn’t get one and the hotel was clearly almost empty in terms of rooms. There was a faulty catch on our bathrooms door so wouldn’t close properly. The entrance porch going into the conservatory vestibule was dirty with a lot of black (mould or dirt) on the woodwork. These are very small criticisms but easily resolved and didn’t tAke away from our stay, just stopped it being 10/10

The room was very clean and comfortable and the whole Hotel was very clean. The breakfast choice was very broad and great value and the dinner menu looked good although did not have dinner in the restaurant area. All the staff were very friendly.

Our room was on the second floor via a spiral staircase and although not a problem for us it might be difficult for guests with heavier luggage. Having said that the staff were very willing to offer assistance.

The location is perfect and walking distance to the town. The hotel is very nice and the room was clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere around the hotel was warm and homely.

There’s a sewer smell in the bathroom but after using the bathroom once the smell disappeared which made our stay in the room better. There’s nothing the hotel could do about this so it was not a negative to our stay.

Great selection at breakfast served by pleasant and attentive staff. Ate 3 out of 4 nights in the hotel.. Good quality 'pub grub' at reasonable prices. Our room was a good size and the bed very comfortable, it overlooked the loch at the front. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

It was a very busy place, obviously well used for dining.. Music played till quite late both inside and outside. As the weather was very warm we had the window open and found the music a bit intrusive. Also the hotel is situated on a very busy road so traffic noise was also a bit of an issue. Obviously the position of the hotel cannot be helped... We did not complain as we had asked for a room overlooking the water but it might be an issue for some.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at the Ardencaple Hotel. Room was spotless and comfortable. The atmosphere within the hotel is friendly and as a lone female traveller I felt comfortable in all areas of the hotel. There is a good choice for the hot breakfast. The outside beer garden is a real bonus with great views. Staff are friendly and very efficient. Plenty of parking. Will definitely stay here again as its a great base.

Room: Excellent sea view, room was lovely and clean, it had everything as described on the website, but our only complaint was that the window didn't open, even ajar. We asked for it to be opened, but the staff member gave us a perfectly good reason as to why it couldn't be opened oh and there was no loo brush :() Food: we ate every night in the restaurant and the food was excellent, Service was great and always with a little chat :) Breakfast: we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as we chose to go for a long walk before hand and ending up eating in Helensburgh

Totally my fault I thought I had booked B&B at the hotel turns out i had only booked Bed, it ended up being to our advantage as we got to go for long walks along the prom every morning before breakfast

Prompt and simple check-in and out; staff friendliness and efficiency; bar/restaurant/bedrooms all under one roof; great bathroom shower; scenic setting and views; nice outdoor deck area; and good access for vehicles.

No 'phone in bedroom; occasional unavailability of certain breakfast items (even eggs!); bedroom decor a bit rough around the edges/corners; toilet seat would not stay up unless prevented from falling by a towel draped over it on the cistern (this one was quite annoying!) Also, no toilet brush.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms modern with a good shower. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from the centre of Helensburgh, but has good parking a nice bar and good restaurant on site. We chose to walk into town on a couple of evenings and found it easy to go there and back

The location is great, staff very friendly and the price was great for this time of year.

Only thing I didn't like was the window in the room was open when we arrived and it was cold in the room. It was quite difficult to actually close the window properly to block out the chill as the handle was quite loose. Also it was advertised as a sea view but you are looking onto the house next door, the sea is only visible if you're right up against the window and look left.
