Very close for my relatives, walking distance to shops. Love the music in the downstair bars.

No fridge, no microwave for an Australian that means a lot. Unable to store cold salad and cold meats for lunch or snacks. No lift either. Difficult for carrying heavy cases downstairs. The breakfast staff seem to be disorganised at weekends. spent time talking among themselves instead of attending to the clients.

We had to ask for tea. We also enquired if they were going to bring any more items out for the hot buffet. There was very little left and it had been there a long while. Beans and eggs came out. Bacon and sausages had past their best. There was still an hour to go before end of service. So get down early. It may be better then.

Nice looking hotel. Clean. Freshly decorated. Lovely decor. Decent sized rooms. Good carpark too

The staff on reception were very welcoming upon arrival and in the evening, the boys running the bar area were very pleasant and helpful. Food was extremely quick to arrive and utterly delicious. I really felt that the staff were committed to ensuring guests were looked after. I would highly recommend this hotel as a super place to stay when visiting the area.

All of the food which was ordered during the two nights I was in residence was delicious............except a very disappointing cheeseboard which came as something of a surprise, bearing in mind the hot food had all been exemplary. A trio of promised cheeses turned out to be a tasteless rubberised 'cheddar', the smallest, decidedly past its sell by date triangle of 'brie', followed by a first for me............sliced mozzarella in place of the itemised 'blue cheese'..........most bizarre! A handful of oatcakes were heavy going with no alternatives so all in all a case of 'could do better' I'm afraid to say.

Had my sons Birthday party in function suite room was decorated really well and all the staff were lovely and accommodating...fantastic night and room was nice, comfortable, clean and cosy!

Breakfast could have been better eggs were really hard, bacon like leather and black pudding just a pile of mush instead of individual cylinders...it did still taste OK and staff were attentive but better care and attention needed to replenishing buffet

Everything was efficient and the people notably friendly. The site is good, on the edge of the handsome Victorian suburb where the middle classes lived in the great days of Greenock's industry. Twenty minutes walk takes you to Lyle Hill which to me (no exaggeration) has the best view in Scotland, over sea and mountain.

The centre of Greenock is very run down, with many empty shops. But there are excellent walking guides available on the web, to the Esplanade, the old town, and the cemetery. The cemetery is a delightful surprise, full of mature trees and rhododendrons.

What a wonderful mini break with a friend to visit local friends for a poignant special reunion. Staff just wonderful, food especially pear crumble (x 2) delicious, room comfort just right and excellent bathroom, most of all super clean and public areas very attractive. Visiting local Band second to none! I NEVER rate like this. Thankyou . I read the local news so keep it in the family! Annie

We loved everything. A lovely entrance from the car park at the rear, a very friendly welcome and easy check in. 3 great Deluxe Rooms for our group. The comfort/styling/decor throughout the bedrooms, foyer, halls, bars and restaurant was right up our street. Particularly loved the 1808 bar. Fab staff, yummy cocktails and we even took part in a great quiz that happened to be on with a really lovely quiz master. Almost won...! Great location in town. The week day continental breakfast was great for us. If in the area again we'll be back.

Everything was to a very high standard. Our room was larger than I expected, with a great on-suite, and really comfortable beds. The facilities in the room were excellent, with all that was required. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the public areas were large and welcoming.

I cannot fault the service that was provided, the only thing I would say is that the bar menu could do with a wider range of choice. This is not a complaint, it's just an observation.

Room And bed was fine but had bad experience with the breakfast first morning due to lack of food and choices also long waits for a table The reason for the above I believe was a lack of experienced staff and not enough considering the amount of people staying due wedding The staff on duties were very helpful and polite considering the pressure they were under

As above and wedding parties overflowing into all areas of hotel especially after a few to many happy drinks It was quite daunting to have through very loud guests right up to toilet area Plus for other guest having to walk through Smokey areas outside all entrance’s

I have a few dietary requirements, but the staff coped reasonably well with them. The room was basic, but very comfortable. Staff were great. Location was ideal for us and we got parked right outside the door.

We hadn't been warned on check in that there was a wedding party in, which made our evening meal service a little slow and noisy, but it didn't impact too much.
