The room was lovely, great size, beautiful view of the coast, beach and seafront, brilliant that the room had a fan as it was quite warm in there and the bathroom had a bath which I really appreciated as I had just completed the Marathon Mighty Hike so it was a bonus to be able to relax in a hot bath and there was a bottle of Radox there so that was a bonus

The communal and stairs could do with a deep clean, bit run down and although the bathroom and room were very clean, the bath had some mould around the grout/silicone where the tiles are. The tv signal was very poor so wasn’t enjoyable to watch anything although I was so tired it didn’t affect our stay too much

A great hotel near the pier and the town centre. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and flexible. We arrived early in the afternoon and the room was ready for us. The check-in was a breeze. We had a very nice and spacy seaview room in the first floor. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Lots of space, and a clean bathroom. The seafront street is right under the window so there are some sounds from traffic but not to any disturbing extent. On our departure the staff promised to store our luggage for some extra hours. The facilities carry the air of a traditional, seasoned and dignified seaside hotel, a nice ambience. No breakfast service, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is no elevator, but that didn't bother us. All in all, excellent value for the price!

Lovely seafront double room, a little old-fashioned but with lots of light, charm and a seaview. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Clean and tidy and friendly reception staff. If you're looking for a slightly more glamorous room on a budget trip, would recommend this hotel. Would stay again!

Black-out curtains might be an improvement, as the room is extremely bright as soon as the sun rose. Could also do with a couple more electric sockets- only 2 in the room, which was tricky for 2 people needing to charge phones, to plug in the TV, fan or kettle etc.

Excellent value for money, very comfortable, friendly staff. Location right on the seafront just a few minutes walk from everywhere. This is a big hotel so please remember the cost of running something this size in this day and age. If your expecting a 5 star experience for this sort of money then it’s not for you. However if you looking for a comfortable hotel, in an ideal location and at a price that is likely unbeatable then you’ll not find better. Very happy customer. Thank you

Nothing I didn’t like it’s a budget hotel which was very good value. If you want to criticise by saying the wallpaper was old, there was a mark in the carpet then find a 5 star hotel and pay their prices. The upkeep on a Victorian hotel like this must be astronomical. Treat it for what it is, excellent value for money, right on the seafront, near to all pubs, cafes and the city centre. If people didn’t keep these places going we would all soon start to moan. Very happy. 😁

It was on the beach front and only 5 mins walk to the pier.The view from the hotel room was excellent and the room was big for the price. Stayed in 4 hotels that week and this was the cheapest and the best. Defineately will stay there again.

The corridors and landings could do with a make over or update.

Staff all really friendly and helpful Room was huge and very clean, bedding and towels clean Great value. Good Location and lovely having a balcony.

Communal areas need refurbishing

Everything was great

Lovely traditional hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the central pier of Eastbourne. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every need, and the stay was exceptional value for money for such a central location with a beautiful view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t have changed a thing - the staff even helped us with parking close by and everything we needed was readily available and offered to us at every step of our stay.

The hotel was very well located with a nice view of the beach and was close to the city centre. The staff were very nice and easy to get all the information.

Nothing in particular

We didn't stay at Glastonbury and we was moved to the New Wilmington. My review is based on the New Wilmington. Can't fault it at all despite only opening recently. Breakfast was brilliant and looking forward to staying again next year
