The room was a good size. The facilities in the room were fair, though very light on Tea/Coffee and no bottled water or additions. Very few electric sockets in the room. The wall heater looked old but it was capable of warming the room quickly, Clearly the room had been improved with fairly new, if basic furnishing. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was also good, with hot water and no waiting for hot water. The location was very good though on street parking nearby was not easy apart from the first night. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly, both on the front desk and in the breakfast room. (we didn't have dinner: being regular travellers to Eastbourne, we like certain eateries).

Parking could have been better. Parts of the hotel felt tired, with shabby carpets on some stairs.

Staff were very friendly, the bedroom was bright which was important for my husband. The bed was firm with lovely new firm full pillows and had nice fixtures.. Loved the swimming pool, most of the time l had it to myself.. I would book this hotel again,all in all a great break.

Have stayed in Eastbourne many times on the sea front over the years,it has always been near the Pier. Found it a bit of a hike to the shops.,there is a very good bus service (no 99) which stopes outside the hotel on the way back. We chose this hotel as it had a pool. It does have quite a lot of guest with dogs,,though they are well behaved .

The hotel comes under the 'shabby chic' category as it is very old as can be seen by the architecture and old window frames. However it was comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Minor really- The indoor swimming pool has a flight of stairs that we had to use and my wife and I have trouble with stairs. There is a lift to the basement floor(-1) but the passageway from the lift to the swimming pool is reserved for 'staff only', clearly because of all the laundry stuff etc.. It would have been good not to have used the stairs!!

Staff were nice. Position excellent to centre. Evening meal brilliant, white wine chilled in ice buckets, a very good touch.Beds comfortable.

Breakfast priced in proportionally. My partner had less on plate but we were still charged the same. The phone set wasn't that clean and needed a wipe over. Biggest gripe was I ran a finger over a hanging picture in the room and a lot of dust came down. With the programme "four in a bed" running for decades on TV , this sort of attention detail shouldn't be overseen. Overall would happily stop here again.

Room was comfy, warm and brilliant sea views. A great 'English Breakfast' set us up for the day perfectly. Staff on desk and in the dining room were both polite and helpful (it was the 1st time we have been rung to ask if everything was o.k. and did we need anything). The location was really handy for our plans. With daily parking permit for £2 this was perfect for us. Use of the pool was a bonus before breakfast (though air was a bit cool 1st thing!)

Only 2 tea bags, which we used when we arrived after long drive. Luckily we had some of our own for when we got up in morning. Sure we could have asked but find there is more coffee supplied.

Our stay here was smooth and hitch free. The room and shared areas of the hotel were comfortable and clean. The room and bathroom were a really good size and loved having a sea view. A particular plus for us, which wouldn't affect everyone, was the dedicated smoking area. I myself don't smoke, but my partner does. We've stayed in many hotels and a fair few in Eastbourne. Many times the smoking area is no more than a mounted ashtray on the wall, whilst smokers have to stand in the street. Here, a section of the lovely front verandah, facing the sea was able to be used. What's more, there's tables and chairs, so we were able to sit together and enjoy the sea view.

We booked an excutive room and this was by far the best room we had slept in. Lovely large bathroom with a window. Bed as expected large and very comfortable. Great to have a sofa in the bedroom and fabulous view looking onto the beach. Breakfast for a couple of days was cooked and presented to us which was a real bonus. Very good selction of food. Staff both on reception and in the dining area was very pleasant.

Can't think of a negative comment.

The room was very comfortable with a great view of the sea and the pier. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was tasty with lots of variety available.

Very minor moans: The windows could have been cleaner, some black round the frames. The toaster at breakfast was one of those where the bread goes round and either gets totally lost on the way or needs another 2 goes round to be pale brown.

The Hotel was spotlessly clean the room was very good size shower and toilet and free parking the breakfast was very good selection and plenty of it the hotel was located very central in Fougeres we could not fault the staff on our first night we did not arrive until very late and they waited for us to arrive and helped us with our luggage we would not hesitate to go back next year

The only problem with our room was the lighting not very bright

Swimming Pool. We had it to ourselves a few times. 7-16 yr old Kids had a ball. Breakfast was busy so we had to work around the available slots to seat all 12 of use together but it was good breakfast. Right in front of sea as expected and nice 10 minute walk to pier. Ate in restaurant and it was good and could cater for my mother with accessibility issues unlike other establishments. Decent bar, Parents had a ball. Apartment room very spacious and a good get together between outings. Dog friendly hotel and pop over the road for a play in the shingles. Dogs had a ball. Had that old Victorian hotel vibe that my mum likes but with a few lifts and everywhere accessible if not a little narrow in places. 78 yr old Mum had a ball. We will be back for "Christmas 2" in January.

No parking directly outside so when we arrived we had to walk a little from the nearest loading bay with my mother who has a stick/ wheel chair and the wheelchair route to reception had a few obstacles we had to clear (door opening out and a few chairs for outside seating - which was a positive the next day). Got a spot in front of the hotel on last day.
