The location was wonderful, right on the sea front and close to shops, restaurants and the train station. I got a single room with a fantastic sea view; I thought that there might be a lot of noise from traffic at night, but it was very peaceful. The bed linen was immaculately clean, as was the rest of the room. The staff member at reception was very friendly and helpful. They have a bar that is open 24/7 (as is reception) and you can get some basic meals/snacks - I didn't take advantage of this, but it all looked pretty decent. Fantastic budget stay.

The shower wasn't that powerful, which is to be expected with these lovely old buildings, but there was plenty of hot water. Just for information rather than a complaint, the free toiletries are basic so you may want to bring your own if you are staying for more than a night.

I needed to combine with work so needed a table to sit at that I could fit my legs under… was given a room change the next morning with no squabbles or extra charge…. The room and bed were huge! Good decor, tv not greatly positioned to view from chair…. Bathroom small in comparison but serves purpose… glass shelf loose so couldn’t put anything on it. All mirrors were fitted for when the 7 dwarfs stayed…. I had to squat to see my face in them! There’s enough space for a small sofa at the end of the bed which would have been nice for relaxing and watching the TV…hopefully the management with heighten the mirrors fix bathroom shelf and consider the small sofa suggestion going forwards… but especially as a sea view room certainly good value for money. Maybe a room fridge would be nice and a communal use microwave for all guests to make use of? 🙂

I loved the huge room with sea views. Really nice view of the pier from my bedroom window. The bed was so comfy!!! I also loved the unexpected room upgrade Subham gave me. I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel given its price. This hotel is most definitely punching above its weight! Very happy with the on street parking outside the hotel. Easy to find a spot, and a biker friendly location. Seemed pretty safe parking it on the seafront over night too. Happy that check out is until 11AM. Some hotels make you pay extra for that. Staff were all very warm, friendly and happy to help. Extending my stay an extra night was hassle free, and quick to do. I’ll definitely be staying here again in the future!

Not much. The keycard took a few attempts in the door at times, but no different than some other hotels in this regard.

Upon our arrival, my dad and I were greeted by a very friendly staff member, who informed us we had a free upgrade to a double room each. The rooms were clean and exceptionally tidy and the pillows were very comfy and the towels were soft. My dad was over the moon regarding the parking tickets available for hotel guests, just under £5 for 2x days! Superb location, being opposite the sea.

The rooms could have done with a hairdryer, because I forgot mine! 😆 Due to the age of the building, there are a few damp patches but the owners are VERY proactive with this issue. Nothing in the rooms though.

A lot of reviews saying it was a bit tired, the room was actually very clean and fresh, so they must be doing some bits by bit. It was warm, clean, enough space and quiet enough. Staff were friendly, easy going and easy to deal with. Remember to have some cash for the car parking permit

Parking, it's awful around there, I spent 40 minutes trying to find a spot TV was stuck on one channel and the remote didn't work No plug in the sink? Shower needs to be run for a good few mins before it gets warm Bed is comfy but a little small Water in the room would have been a nice touch The lift, too small and a nightmare when you have a few bags....

I had a excellent stay at The Strand Hotel! From the moment I walked in, I could tell the place was incredibly clean and well-maintained. It has a modern vibe, with stylish décor and all the amenities you'd expect from a top-notch hotel. The staff were amazing, friendly and always ready to help. The hotel seems recently refurbished, so everything feels fresh and up-to-date. I also have to give a shoutout to the bar and lounge; it’s an excellent spot to unwind with a great atmosphere and delicious drinks. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

This HOTEL IS BY FAR THE BEST i HAVE STAYED IN IN EASTBOURNE... and I am hard to please and impress.....New beds, new pillows , lovely cotton sheets new pillows , quilts , all quality ,curtains, new carpets newly decorated , Bright and airy ,Great nights sleep .. simple but elegant , I will be staying here again, friendly staff, very welcoming and professional, super clean , smells great ,,,this is where to stay, many other hotels in Eastbourne are tired, old carpets , creaky uncomfortable beds, do not smell nice are in need of redecoration and refurbishment , And have cheap bedding and towels,, The strand TICKED ALL THE BOXES FOR ME, I met the owners , a young dynamic married couple, I wish them all the best , a great team and great hosts, Thank you and well done ... see you next time Mark Triance

I recently stayed at The Strand Hotel in Eastbourne and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were exceptionally clean and had been recently refurbished, making them both comfortable and modern. The hotel's lounge and bar area provided a relaxing space to unwind, with a cozy atmosphere and tasteful decor. What truly set our stay apart was the wonderful staff. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home and truly enhanced our experience. Overall, The Strand Hotel offers great value with its clean, updated rooms and excellent service. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Eastbourne!

I liked Subhan the front office manager He really went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable We had a few problems and when we moved our room he didn't make us feel guilty He really looked after us and as it was my other half 70 birthday treat He made it special for us The sea view room with a double bed was perfect and whilst we slept we could hear the sea which was really soothing Thank you for this treatment Subhan you are so human and efficient

The first room was far too small but it was okay for the price It was hard to understand how to get the subtitles off the TV it didn't seem to work

I didn't expect much going by other reviews but was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. The staff were welcoming and helpful. My room was clean, there was no smell of smoke at all, and there were new beds, carpets and paintwork. I gather this hotel is under new management in recent months, and the changes they are making seem very good. It's in a lovely position by the sea, with nice walks in either direction along the seafront. It was good value for money for it's position. I would recommend staying here.

The bathroom could do with being updated in time, but was fine.
