Afte###r experiencing an awful holiday the week previous to this booking, I was apprehensive on what the condition of the hotel would be. My heart sank a little when entering the hotel, there was a sign advising that major renovations were being done. However, my rfears soon banished. There wee plenty of signs explaining where the modernation programme had not commence. Both the entrance and lounge area had been tastefully refurbished. A great choice of carpets, and very comforable furniture to relax in. Only one member of staff covering bar and reception. However, I would imagine that the reason for this, was that there were not many guests in the hotel at this time. The bbarman very friendly and efficient. Our bedroom was on the 3rd floor and although there was a lift provided, my husband suffers from claustrophobic and is recovering from a stroke we had to use the stairs. If we had the necessity to book this hotel afain, we would have to esnure that a ground floor bedroom was able to us. The bedroom had been refurbished with new carpet, the room was very clean and bed very comfortable. We did not book for breakfast or have any food from the restaurant.

Perhaps just a little bit to detail when a room has been refurbished. There was eviidence of paint on some of the chairs.

Excellent location on the seafront with a short walk to the town centre. Check in was fast with a very competent receptionist managed to park close to hotel and paid only £2.20 at hotel. Room was clean, comfortable bed and although ensuite on the small side very suitable. All the staff we dealt with were helpful and nothing seemed to faze them. We used the bar in the evening which was great, competitively priced and the cocktails good . As a group of 4 we enjoyed our stay perfect location and the staff, rooms and facilities were very good. We will be back and would recommend

I booked a single room with en-suite, both rooms were a good size. The water pressure in the shower was really good, with a quality large bath towel and hand towel. The furniture was dated and tired, but the bed was very comfortable, with good quality bed linen. Decent sized dressing table with tv and kettle, etc. The staff were very pleasant and I enjoyed my stay. There is a large restaurant and seating outside with parasols. The hotel is being discreetly refurbished. Great location opposite the beach and promenade. Would happily stay there again

Nothing much.

suitable basic accommodation for a one night stay to attend conference . The cost of the single room reflected the very basic but clean accommodation. Did not spend any time in the room and therefore not bothered about lack of facilities such as armchair, table or toiletries

Facilities and view Back facing single room . Jammed curtain rail. so very small opening poor daylight in room. view of concrete walls and back garages. lack of furniture no armchair or table

It is being refurbished so not everywhere is available to use. Our room was very clean and had been recently decorated. The restaurant wasn't open when we were there but you could eat in the bar. Food was very good. The breakfast was very tasty which was a fulll English. Cereal and toast also available. Once the hotel is fully functional I believe this is gonna be a great place to stay. I will be returning.

No entertainment in the evening

The hotel was really good, very helpful and polite staff that couldn't do enough for us. Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed

The radiator didn't get very hot and made a constant clicking through the night, the room had a lovely sea view but the outside of the windows definitely needed a clean as it obscured the view a bit

Staff were incredibly helpful with leaving bags prior to checkin, and letting us know as soon as one room was available to use. We really liked the old-time feel: not everything is brand new but it met our needs perfectly and we were very comfortable.

The shower in the renovated bathroom was a little tricky: shower fixture not totally secure to its mount, had to wait a bit for hot water to come through.

the breakfast was very good the dining room was nice with lovely views across the sea it had a good ambience and staff were cheerful and helpful

one of the windows in the room had a large crack in the glass which needs attention its a safety issue also there were paint spatters on window panes which although not a problem it spoils the effect of otherwise nicely decorated room
