We had a wonderful stay at Marriott. The hotel was impeccably clean, which made us feel completely at ease throughout our visit. The location was incredibly convenient allowing us to easily explore the surrounding area. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast- it was delicious and had a satisfying variety to suit every taste. Overall, our experience was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We were disappointed with the bathroom set up. The glass door design lacked privacy, and it wasn’t soundproof, which made using it feeling a bit uncomfortable and awkward. While everything else about our stay was great, we hope the hotel considers improving the bathroom design for a better guest experience.

Good breakfast, helpful waiters.

Not enough storage space in the room. There was no ramp leading from the pavement to the hotel reception. One of my family has mobility problems and the lack of disabled access was a problem. Also there was no porter to help although another staff member did kindly help.

Fantastic location, friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed.

Booked and prepaid but the room wasn't allocated until we got there only 2hrs after the permitted 3pm arrival time. Ended up in an accessible room, which meant no window onto anything other than a courtyard and other rooms. If you need an accessibleroom, there's an inch high step into the bathroom. Nightmare if you're in a wheelchair or unsteady on your feet. Really don't like the glass door into the bathroom. In the night, you have to locate the loo in dark because turning the light illuminates the bedroom. Pillows were lumpy. Tried desperately to upsell us breakfast, far too expensive, and a room upgrade, we were only there 1 night and just wanted to get in and ready for our evening out.

Good breakfast. I also liked the additional dishes that could be ordered for breakfast, however it was more or less everyday the same. Room was more than enough for 1 person, very quiet and cosy. Location was also excellent. The food at the restaurant was very good. Gym equipment also solid, given that the space was not that large.

Just minor things, the bathroom had a blocked drain which should have been noticed by room service, although I did not mention it to the staff. The sink was a bit small, so a lot of water was splashing around. Even though it was mentioned to leave towels hanging if they want to be reused, mine were changed daily. You can pay cash at the bar/restaurant but you must pay the exact amount, they do not give you any change. During our first dinner (party of 5) the main dishes did not come at the same time, some of us had to wait more than five minutes (which I consider too long) until their main dish arrived (waiting time was generally a bit too long given the number of people at the restaurant at that time). A bit overpriced, but I guess that's across the whole industry at the moment.

The Courtyard is in a great area for getting around the city. The tram to the airport is across the street. So convenient. The staff at the Courtyard are all exceptional. Shout out to Olivia the housekeeping manager who kindly stopped to help me get a reservation. I had tried so hard to get "breakfast" included in many places I looked at in Edinburgh. When we checked in they said breakfast was included because we had a superior room The breakfast made the stay wonderful.......without breakfast included it would not have been the same.

The price was the most we have EVER paid to stay anywhere. Very unhappy about that. $500 a night!!!!!!!!!

I liked the fact that the hotel is located in an old Edinburgh house (Robert Louis Stevenson's grandfather's home) in an outstanding location. The breakfast was an excellent full English breakfast buffet but you had the option of ordering from a menu. We also had dinner and the food was a very good value. All staff members were accommodating and most helpful! The air conditioning was welcome on a muggy summer day. Our room and bathroom were modernized and very clean.

My bed mattress was too soft. I know this is Edinburgh but the hotel was pricey. Because of the hotel prices I most likely will not visit Edinburgh again. Over $400 a night before taxes and fees is too much.

I had to arrange for oxygen to be delivered for the period of my stay, I had emailed Kirsty Ross, reception manager, to advise her. On checking in, I was allocated a room on the same floor as reception, right next to the lift, this was absolutely perfect and so considerate. I haven't been on oxygen for long and this was the first time I have been away from home, between the hotel and the oxygen supply company everything went so smoothly without a hitch, I am so grateful for that and have already booked for a further stay in December. Fantastic customer service. The refurbishment of the hotel is so classy, the restaurant seems bigger and you really get what you pay for

Nothing, everything was perfect

Absolutely excellent place! A warm welcome from the start. Nothing was to much trouble. The rooms are lovely, quiet, and clean with all that you need. The staff are friendly and approachable. We have to mention Derek, he made our stay exceptional! I can not thank him enough for making the start of our trip around Scotland for my daughters 30th birthday so special. He is a credit to the hotel, thank you Derek. As is Tuesday who served our evening meal at the grill, so friendly helpful and with a smile, food was excellent, thank you to the chef and his staff. Wish we had got to tell Derek & Tuesday face to face but we didn't see them when we left, but we will be back soon! I can't recommend this place enough, if you love good food, rooms and smiling helpful staff you can't go wrong booking here. Keep up the great work.

The breakfast was good and had a decent amount of options- buttermilk pancakes were delicious. The beds were big and comfortable and the rooms were a decent size. The location was right next to the Playhouse which was very convenient for us. The Omni parking was very close and you were provided with a discount code which made it very reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and very helpful.

The bathroom doors were not totally sealed...there was a gap between the glass door and the glass wall which was a questionable design choice. The sink was very small and at an awkwardly high level. There was a random clicking sound in the room which happened intermittently and I still can't work out what it was!
