Very attentive staff at reception, the Snug bar and diningroom*. Loved the seating in the bar area, it was perfect for a drink, a bite and great conversation. Loved that we had a room with doors leading to the rooftop garden and terrace.

The only negative thing of our entire stay was that we came into the diningroom* on a Sunday morning at 10.30 and were almost turned away for service. We slept in that day and I had checked the website where it said breakfast was served until 11.00 so I thought we were okay. It was sorted in the end but made us feel unwelcome at first when all we wanted was a light breakfast. In the end, we were served and had a great breakfast.

The location couldn't be better, an easy walk to most of both New Town and Old Town. Once the new tram to the airport is working (it's being tested) access to and from the airport will also be very simple. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the mornings was excellent with a combination of hot entrée choices a continental buffet. The bar and gardens were very pleasant.

Like much of Edinburgh, this hotel is expensive. You get many benefits, but you also pay a high price for them.

Great location, great staff who look after all your needs with a very clean and comfortable room.

The breakfast we had from room service, which was £55 and very small. We thought this was very minimal and over priced.

A generous sized bedroom ideal for our stay with a separate area for siting and working. Surprisingly good roof garden, unexpected in the city of Edinburgh. Nice location for breakfast which has good daylighting, not in the bowels of the hotel. Nice bar for late at night and good food. Comfortable seating.

Reception rather detached from the rest of the hotel and it misses a decent staircase from reception to the bedroom floors - much prefer to use the stairs. Rather long corridors with the breakfast room at the far end of the building. Difficult to find the breakfast room with the route not well signed.

Great location. Walking distance to anything and everything. Great Concierge, Jaime. Roof garden is stunning and large.

It’s all good BUT the food situation is not good enough for a hotel in this price and competitive strata. They have no restaurant. Just a completely adequate breakfast in a breakfast room. And a slightly glorified bar menu the rest of the day. Food served in the bar or as room service. Menu needs a serious re-think. No fruit or vegetables?! No smoked salmon in Scotland?! Add 4 or 5 items to this so someone staying a week has some choices. Note: in fairness there are lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. Why no food service on the roof garden?!

The hotel is lovely, the location is great and the inside of the hotel is fab and feels luxurious to me. The room was spacious, clean, the bed is very comfortable. We had a garden view room so the view was nice. We had room service meal on the night, the hummus, ox and venison burger and club sandwich were delicious. We also had breakfast to our rooms each morning, a great range of items and fresh, it was a lovely way to start the day. Alexander was a highlight, he greeted us when we arrived and said goodbye as we left 2 days later. He was warm and welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is excellent, we have stayed a few times already and will definitely be back!

The toilet makes an awful noise, it's like an airplane toilet where it suctions out the contents. I assume this might be to do with not wasting as much water which I'm all for, but the noise is loud and a bit startling at first, but soon enough get used to it. The bill was all paid but i didnt get a copy of it to check, it was supposed to be emailed to me but I haven't received this yet so will chase this up. - these are quite small things and don't change how much we love the Glasshouse.

The staff were very helpful, when they were able and the location of the hotel was excellent and made it unnecessary to rent a car daily.

On a few occasions of our stay of 11 days the room was not cleaned until repeatedly prompted or until much later in the day. There were a lot of hiccups when trying to join the app to give us an advantage when booking again. The breakfast was very expensive especially when we only ate toast and coffee where there was no provision for this and guests are obligated to pay for an expensive package deal. So went elsewhere for better value for money.

The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful

The location was slightly off the track but not overly so. There was nothing to dislike. The lift up a couple of floors, walk across the hotel and through the bar and then stairs down to the room was a little gripe. I didn’t really want to walk through a bar with my children to get to a room. But this is a minor quirk and did not spoil the stay. Lastly, and this is a gripe - for a 5 star hotel and the nightly rate - why no 24hr room service (it ends at 10pm) and why no nightly turn-down service in rooms?

Everything was to the standard we expected of this high quality property. Parking was easier than we expected given the location. We walked to attractions in Edinburgh itself but also drove out on three of the days we were there. Even the weather was reasonable with only showers most days and actual bright sun between the showers.

The weather.

The hotel staff were exceptional. We couldn't have had a better stay without their professionalism and care. The room was superb, well laid out with plenty of space and a door leading on to the roof garden. We have stayed in many hotels throughout the uk and Europe, and this one is definitely in the top two. The breakfast was outstanding, and we had a great selection to choose from. Again, care and attention during breakfast was exceptional. Many thanks to all the staff.

There wasn't anything we didn't like it was first class.
