The location was great and convenient, it was in the city centre so all the tourist attractions were near or at least walking distance of 30 minutes maximum & only a 6-min walk from the train station! Check-in & -out process was quick, nice and easy. Had a lovely luggage storage system so that you can explore the city before you leave/check-in. Nice simple included breakfast and had good options that catered to most people, judging by how busy it gets in the morning. Staff were very nice and friendly especially since they might be the first people you encounter in a new city. Was really happy with choosing this hotel by the end of my stay.
Did expect more breakfast options so I was only slightly disappointed. The room itself had minor issues (e.g. stain marks on wall, cracked paint) and what I really didn’t like the most (but figured there’s not much they can do given it must be an old building) is their creaky floorboards, loud enough to notice down the hall. I also did think they could’ve chosen a better soap scent, it was parsley… Not sure why you’d want your hand to smell like garnish.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and reacted immediately when I reported that I forgot my backpack on the tram when I arrived at the hotel from the airport. The guy was super friendly and managed to get back my backpack in just half an hour by informing the local tram service! Excellent location - just across the tram station to the airport, close to the city center and tourist attractions. I requested a quiet room and I got one! The room was clean, breakfast was absolutely sufficient (fresh, enough variety, very good service, I missed only fresh vegetables), excellent wifi.
It was very busy at breakfast after 8:00 am but I guess this is normal in August when the city is crowded and Fringe takes place. For this reason the price was quite high.

I enjoyed the breakfast every morning, and the staff was on top of refilling the buffet and keeping the tables clean. I was also happy about the bathroom as it was spacious and the shower was good too! Finally, the rooms were also always kept clean. Overall a very positive experience.
For late arrivals, there is a doorbell on the inside wall to call the staff. A head's up that it can take a bit of time before someone arrives (we waited about 15-20 mins, which late at night with the lights off and no response, caused us slight panic).

Excellent hotel run to very high standards. The location was excellent. Short walking distance to the castle, museums and restaurants. Best pasta restaurant ever just a few paces from the hotel entrance.( make sure to book). There is a new shopping centre opposite with more restaurants and a cinema. No need for a car we took a tram from the airport (30 mins)and a bus to Ocean Terminal (15mins) to see Brittania both very frequent timetables. All stopping within a very short distance of the hotel and so easy to use. We went to the The Royal Theatre which was opposite to see a show, very reasonable prices. The breakfast was also excellent. Full English or continental. All food very hot and constantly replenished. We sat downstairs which was often a little less busy. Very pleasant outlook onto the street. Staff constantly clearing dirty plates and wiping down tables. The room was very clean, plenty of hot water and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a throughly wonderfull hotel. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Find it very hard to find fault. There was nothing that we didn't like

Center of the city is very convenient. The tram runs all over town, for a little fee, it is very convenient, and so easy to just get a day card and get wherevever you need to go. The staff is great.
There is not a really comfortable sitting area in the front of the hotel, such as a tea/coffe shop, that is comfortable to sit for half hour with charging stations, to get paperwork, or plan last minute itinerary. This would make it friendlier and easier for visitors coming, going and staying at the hotel, waiting for a room. Towels would be more convenient if kept in the bathroom.

The staff were always very helpful, and told me that you can easily take the tram from the airport to St. Andrew's Square, which is a 5-minute walk approximately (even inexpensive return ticket is possible at airport). Location is also close to the bus terminal where I took a couple of Rabbie's tours to various cities. Glad that the accessible room had a pull cord and telephone in case I needed to telephone the reception for any reason. Lots of restaurants around the corner from which to choose. Convenient central location.
Extremely tiny sink, which meant that I was splashing the floor each time that I washed my face (safety hazard in an accessible room) and makes it difficult to rinse out a shirt (standard practice with only carry-on luggage). No direct light over the sink or mirror for applying make-up or contact lenses, etc.

Great free breakfast included with the room. Both me and my sibling adored that it was bottomless and could go back for seconds. We also enjoyed a few cups of orange juice which is a personal favourite of both of ours. Basically a bottomless english breakfast with a broad variety of cereals and small array of desserts too. Two coffee machines in the area which was located in an upstairs area. There was little to no waiting times to serving yourself on the all you can eat buffet or when you went back for seconds.
The room we stayed in was unfortunately not sound proof to the outside world. We both had difficulties sleeping with traffic outside throughout the night. Traffic wasn't very loud such as beeping etc, but we were woken up every time a car passed on the street above. We were on an under the street level though not quite underground. My sibling did enjoy the channels that were on the tv though. We slept mostly on the train back unfortunately. Bed was super comfy though.

Just had an absolutely fabulous 3 night stay at IHG Edinburgh. The staff very professional and courteous, our room was well appointed with everything we needed, very comfortable bed and a great hot shower with lots of hot water. Free tea and coffee in the reception area was a lovely touch. The breakfast was plentiful and offered great choice and a free luggage room too (so many hotels charge for this!) Hotel well situated for the tram and also everything that you could possibly want to enjoy in the city centre by foot. A faultless stay that well exceeded our expectations, we would both return and recommend.

The staff was very supportive, I could leave my luggage at the end of my stay to go around to see the city for the last time. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the internet connection was stable and fast. The breakfast was diverse: warm/cold, fruits, eggs, bread, and drinks were included as well. The rooms were mostly quiet, but it was possible to hear the neighbouring rooms as they entered or leaves their room. Nothing to really worry about. Super closed to the main streets, and restaurants
The coffee, juice and mermelades can be improved.

location was great. close to OMNI center where there are restaurants to order from. Close to public transportation, princess st, waverly. the room was a big enough size for me and my daughter who is 2 yo. there is great shopping available as well. I left for the weekend with a plan to check in again on Monday. I was able to leave my suitcase there so that I didn’t have to carry it with me for a short visit I was making.they also gave me a crib for my daughter which was great.
the carpets in the room need a wash. seemed old and dirty even after cleaning by housekeeping. it is not handicap accessible, there are stairs to get into hotel and to get to your room after getting off elevator. something to think about if you have stroller for kid and or use a wheelchair. also something to consider carrying heavy bags . breakfast seemed great and tasty but I did not get to enjoy as my toddler would be sleeping during breakfast time. staff at the breakfast room refused to give me a takeaway plate for me and my daughter as this is not allowed apparently. I had to order breakfast every morning that I was there elsewhere. consider allowing to go breakfast or packing breakfast for customers who can’t make the breakfast cause of young kids or other reasons.
