Loved the location everything was in walking distance and a large range of shops nearby, staff was super friendly and helped us store our luggage. Room was also spacious and had shelves and closet for clothes.

Our sink was clogged(3 nights) our entire stay and when asked if they could fix it they didn't. So we had no working sink.

Location was perfect! Also the bed was very comfortable, we had very good night sleep after a long journey (it is very rare for us to have good sleep in hotels). Room was clean and well equipped. Staff was nice and very helpful. Price was great for the room we got. If we will visit Edinburgh again,we would definitely choose Ibis again.:)

There was only a small electric heater in the room, which was insufficient after a long wet and windy day. But since we were in Edinburgh only for the weekend, it was bearable.

It was in walking distance of everywhere we wanted to be

There was a nightclub nearby and the music was very loud

Really well placed for where I was working. Visiting the city and close to a lot of amenities. Supermarket just outside as well which was a nice surprise. Short walk to trains station and on bus route. It's an ibis and I've not had it with ibis any time I've stayed really they are very cookie cutter and you get a well appointed comfy room, and good services 99 percent of the time. Modern amenities, comfy bed and clean cosy room. Not much more to say.

Only warning is give is this is very close to the royal mile and several tourist spots so the main street is very busy and the hotel is very busy so if your looking for quiet or calm away from the bustle this is not the space for you.

Central location and easy to get to old town and new.

The hotel was far too warm, and there was no thermostat in the room and no option to open a window as it was sealed. On arrival, a portable heater was also on, so we had to open the door to the room and prop it open with a chair as we couldn't tolerate the heat in the room. The level of heating in the room remained very uncomfortable even though we had turned the portable hater off, something the receptionist questioned us about. Attention to detail on preparing the room must have been poor as the curtains could not close as they had been repaired incorrectly with a screw left in the track, preventing us from closing them. We were fortunate to arrive early enough for the handyman to repair it before he finished work.

My brother and myself have stayed at this hotel twice now and it has exceeded our expectations both times. The staff are so warm and welcoming, and are so helpful and informative. The rooms are fantastic and always really clean and comfortable. I use a walking stick as I have mobility issues and the staff have always been so helpful. The first time we had a room quite far away and the immediately rectified it. This time it was pretty much right after the lifts, so just perfect for me.

Honestly there really isn't much I can criticise about it! My only concern is that getting to some floors and rooms can be quite a walk, as the hotel is spread out over bridges. But I don't feel like that will be an issue to most people, just people like me with some mobility issues.

From the moment we walked in the door the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Very accommodating the vibe of the hotel was easy going. The rooms are well equipped and the bed very comfortable, I did notice that there was also disabled access on the floor we stayed on which was great. The breakfast was brilliant and a wide selection of fresh cooked food and bakery stuff. I have to add that the coffee was very nice it was not the normal cheap tasting stuff you normally get at a hotel. Overall I would definitely choose this hotel again for Service, price and location.

If I had to choose something I didn’t like and this is purely personal preference I didn’t like the breakfast scramble eggs. But, my sister and friend loved them so as I say it was personal preference.

Stayed to attend a concert we had already booked a restaurant prior to booking at another location so didn’t get a chance to use hotel. Breakfast was expensive and with the surrounding choices we managed to get something within budget. Really handy location central to everything.

Can’t complain about anything in particular. Staff were very helpful and courteous 10 out of ten for them. Room was on the small side but it is a central location and property is expensive so totally understand the commercial rationale.

Fabulous location, good clean rooms at a great price. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again. We managed to check in to one of our rooms early which was great as we could leave our luggage, and 12pm check out is rare but fabulous.

The heating/aircon in the room didn't work. This was initially rectified by a plug in radiator when I arrived, however, it was unseasonably warm and even though I turned it off when I arrived, the room was too warm for me and the window could not be opened. The staff did manage to find me a fan, however, which was apparently the last in the building. It was covered in dust and required wiping down with a towel, but it did the job and I had a really good night sleep.

Well located very close to the Royal Mile. The room was comfortable and well appointed. A good restaurant/bar was on site and staff accommodating and pleasant. Our 3 day stay was midweek, during "The Fringe 2024" and was as good a location as you could find, for venues, restaurants and various shopping. Good drop-off zone if you are driving (as we were) with the nearest NCP about 450 yards away (expect a steep walk back).

We paid £320 per night / midweek during the 2024 Fringe. Value is difficult to gauge, but it's what we budgeted. It's Edinburgh, so expect parking charges to be a bit stiff. We parked up for 3 days (I didn't really want to give it too much thought once we'd arrived), which cost £74. I think that is a year round cost. Nothing to do with the hotel I know, but that's the whole picture.
