The location was great, only a few mins drive into the city centre with buses every few mins, including one to and from the airport (only takes 10 mins). The staff were so helpful and friendly and the accommodation was stunning. Everything was so clean and comfortable. When we had a problem, they sorted it straight away and ensured we had the best stay possible. I’ve been to Edinburgh several times in the past and this was the best property I’ve stayed at, hands down! This includes a number of chain hotels.

Staff: very very friendly and helpful! I asked for a quiet room and they provided me with the most quiet room, a garden house in another building, two houses away from the main building. They helped me with all my questions regarding Edinburgh city. They were always very welcoming and gave us a "just like home" feeling. (10/10) Location: way better than any other busy location in the city center, a place to have some rest after a busy day. The rugby stadium of Murrayfield is visible from the other side of the road, beautiful lightings in the evening, and next to the rugby stadium a nice little park with the Water of Leith walkway. Great location to start your journey walking on the Water of Leith walkway to the National Galleries (15-20 minutes) up to Dean Village (20-25 minutes) and the Royal Botanic Garden (25-30 minutes). Only a 10-15 minutes bus ride to Princes Street/ Waverly Station (city center), with the bus stop being a 2 minute walk from the hotel, and many many busses passing by (most frequent: Lothian Buses). Way better than any other busy location in the city center, a place to have some rest after a busy day. (10/10) Room: warm and cozy, clean, all necessary extras available. (10/10) Hotel: consists of two buildings (one being 2 houses away from the main building, with a beautiful little garden), great architecture, nice and clean buildings (gives you a Scottish feeling right away)! (10/10) Parking: available for guests behind the main building. (10/10)

The only thing that kept me from giving a 10 instead of a 9 was the breakfast. We didn't really like the fact that the open buffet was relatively limited and that you had to order something extra from the breakfast menu (don't worry though, it's included in the price of the breakfast!), because we like our breakfast options to be somewhat less limited (I think it's because of the limited space in the breakfast area). The things we ordered from the menu were also not that good, it was good enough, but not that "wow-factor".

Loved how close it was to the city centre, the bus stop is just around the corner. Beautiful location on a nice quiet street. The staff was very lovely at the reception. The hotel has a really cozy feel. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Appreciated the nice gestures, like my little happy birthday treat when we arrived, and complimentary bottles of water. Overall enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

The only downside I can think of is that it’s very very warm inside! With the heating on, the room was getting pretty hot and the window was opening only a little bit. Also the sink in the bathroom was a bit tricky with the water pressure suddenly changing and splashing, but I’m sure that’s just because it’s an old building!

The room was lovely and spacious, beautifully presented. The location was ideal for getting into the city centre and also to and from the airport. The bar food was very good. The staff were all great. Nothing we asked for was a problem. The hotel has lovely traditional decor with a few modern twists.

There are no ground floor bedrooms or lifts, which we didn't realise until we got there, so there are no rooms for people with disabilities (one member of our party has a slight difficulty with stairs). The only thing we could fault was breakfast - it was just reasonable.

I was upgraded to a comfort room on arrival, which was lovely. It was a smashing big room with a huge television and a couch. The staff were lovely, really welcoming, friendly and helpful. I ate in the restaurant that night, the meal was lovely, and the staff were just fantastic, really friendly and warm. You could tell they cared about their guests.

The bath and shower could do with some mould remover around the shower curtain. However, the rest of the room was clean and comfortable.

This was our 4th stay at Murrayfield and everytime we have been impressed but this time was exceptional. Great room, fantastic location. Just far enough out of the city but close for bus locations. We also LOVE Pat. She’s one of the main reasons we return each time. My mum and me have had a very tough year with personal circumstances and seeing Pat again after so long was really the breath of fresh air that we needed. Grateful for her friendship and kindness and lovely personality always.

Honestly nothing. Everything and everyone is great here

We were upgraded to a very large room looking out front onto Corstorphine Road. The room was warm and comfortable and I especially enjoyed the lovely free standing bath with endless hot water and lovely toiletries. The location is perfect, whether you’re heading into town or to the airport.

We booked breakfast for both days of our stay but were disappointed with the buffet offerings which did not seem to get replenished although we were quite early in the service. The cooked element was very nice but not good enough to tempt us out of bed on the second day.

Warm welcome. Enjoyed the self-service offerings at breakfast, but the cooked part was quite greasy. I only wanted fried eggs but flipped over and they were overcooked and rubbery. Gluten-free bread was offered but I was pointed to the communal toaster to toast. Gluten-free should be toasted separately away from gluten containing bread .

I thought I had booked breakfast at £161 but I hadn't. I had to pay £30 extra which made the stay expensive. The room was too warm so we didn't sleep well.the heating system would not allow us to set below 21 degree's and there was no window to open just patio door which led to the garden on the ground floor which if we opened I would not have felt safe.

Friendly staff, very comfortable bed and room, breakfast with an excellent selection of continental and hot freshly cooked food ,fabulous location, great outdoor seating area, handy for transport links to the town

Unfortunately my room 1 backed on to the car park at the rear of the hotel, so early morning deliveries were a bit noisy, saying that, I usually am awake at this time as my cats come home to be fed before disappearing once again, so I can't really find fault . One thing though I would have liked is a whole slice of Lorne sausage instead of a half slice, maybe I'm just trying to find fault though

Cameron and staff were lovely and were always ready to accommodate your needs or offer help without being asked. We stayed in the house a couple buildings down from the main entrance room 8 and it was large, comfortable and a beautiful view of the garden. The water pressure was fantastic… when coming from the US, this is a plus. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar. The staff and the restaurant were just as lovely as the room staff and manager. They too went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I am gluten-free and each day Kyla remembered and had options ready for me. She even surprised me with a gluten-free dessert one day. Pat was also just as lovely and gave us all kinds of tips on what to do while in Edinburgh. I would recommend this hotel highly.
