The location was great, only a few mins drive into the city centre with buses every few mins, including one to and from the airport (only takes 10 mins). The staff were so helpful and friendly and the accommodation was stunning. Everything was so clean and comfortable. When we had a problem, they sorted it straight away and ensured we had the best stay possible. I’ve been to Edinburgh several times in the past and this was the best property I’ve stayed at, hands down! This includes a number of chain hotels.

They upgraded us. It was very unexpected and nice of them. The room had us dazzled and it gave on the little garden behind. Waking up to it was a delight and we even had a little fox cross it once. The hotel is very accessible to visit old town Edinburgh and the airport is 15 min away. Which was very practical for our early flights. The room was clean with a mini fridge and all type of accessories, the bathroom was clean and huge and very nice for couples. The bathroom door is made of smoked glass which doesn’t allow a lot of sound proofing if anyone is shy about their business. I personally like more privacy but honestly, it didn’t bother me as much as I thought.
Nothing not to like.

Staff: very very friendly and helpful! I asked for a quiet room and they provided me with the most quiet room, a garden house in another building, two houses away from the main building. They helped me with all my questions regarding Edinburgh city. They were always very welcoming and gave us a "just like home" feeling. (10/10) Location: way better than any other busy location in the city center, a place to have some rest after a busy day. The rugby stadium of Murrayfield is visible from the other side of the road, beautiful lightings in the evening, and next to the rugby stadium a nice little park with the Water of Leith walkway. Great location to start your journey walking on the Water of Leith walkway to the National Galleries (15-20 minutes) up to Dean Village (20-25 minutes) and the Royal Botanic Garden (25-30 minutes). Only a 10-15 minutes bus ride to Princes Street/ Waverly Station (city center), with the bus stop being a 2 minute walk from the hotel, and many many busses passing by (most frequent: Lothian Buses). Way better than any other busy location in the city center, a place to have some rest after a busy day. (10/10) Room: warm and cozy, clean, all necessary extras available. (10/10) Hotel: consists of two buildings (one being 2 houses away from the main building, with a beautiful little garden), great architecture, nice and clean buildings (gives you a Scottish feeling right away)! (10/10) Parking: available for guests behind the main building. (10/10)
The only thing that kept me from giving a 10 instead of a 9 was the breakfast. We didn't really like the fact that the open buffet was relatively limited and that you had to order something extra from the breakfast menu (don't worry though, it's included in the price of the breakfast!), because we like our breakfast options to be somewhat less limited (I think it's because of the limited space in the breakfast area). The things we ordered from the menu were also not that good, it was good enough, but not that "wow-factor".

The hotel was lovely, room was a very good size and had everything we needed. The bar was lovely and the staff were so lovely! Perfect spot just 10 mins into the centre on a bus and parking was perfect at the hotel. Great spot for when you’re done with the hustle and bustle and just want to put your feet up!
We had a fantastic stay for two night however, our first night there were kids running up and down the stairs, slamming doors. I told hotel reception who had a quiet word, they continued so I confronted them myself which seemed to do the trick. Not the hotels fault at all, parents fault for leaving small children in a room whilst they go for a meal.

I like the restaurant at the hotel. The trout dish and the tomato soup were both excellent. The breakfast, especially the avocado toast, was perfect. The chef obviously put a lot of thought into the pairing of ingredients as well as the presentation of the food. If I were to come back to visit Edinburgh again, I would definitely visit the lovely restaurant at the hotel again.
The staff at the check-in was not helpful. It might be because she was new or an intern, because she didn’t know where my room is, and I had to figure it out myself. I also couldn’t get any help with the luggage despite that I asked for help. The service was falling below the bar given the four star rating. The check-in was essentially giving you a key and a letter, then good luck finding your own way out. I am a returning guest, and the service was decent the first time I visited.

First, I want to take a minute to acknowledge Kate at the front desk, who was absolutely phenomenal. Her professionalism, kindness and empathy was unmatched and truly made my stay an exceptional experience. The door to my room unfortunately would not unlock, no fault to her. So she took my bags while I ate dinner and when I was finished she had already taken my bags UP TO MY NEW ROOM! Which I was also upgraded! I will say traveling alone can be stressful but her attentiveness to the details and issues at hand made the stressful situation so much less so. The room, the food, the bed was incredible. I was sad to have only stayed one night but I will surely be back again! Thank you so much for the outstanding service and kindness!!!

Murrayfield was a great hotel – spacious, with good accommodations and a nice bathroom. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, combining traditional Scottish architecture with nature through atrium gardens and plenty of natural light. Since we were honeymooning, they surprised us with a delicious bottle of Prosecco, which we really enjoyed. The staff was definitely a highlight – very helpful and charismatic, making our stay even more pleasant. It was also very convenient to have a restaurant available on-site, which made both the dinner and breakfast experience very enjoyable.
We did have to park on the street. Although this was an exceptional situation and the hotel informed us in advance, it still added a bit of stress and made the experience slightly less relaxing. We also encountered a - theoretically - dangerous spider in our room (on the wall next to the bed), which my husband killed and everything was fine NBD, but it would be helpful if the hotel considered implementing some form of insect inspection, especially in the guest rooms.

I booked the hotel as it is near Murrayfield Stadium and I had tickets for a concert there. The cost of the rooms was high due to the concert, which I understand as being dynamic pricing. Unfortunately, the concert was cancelled. I asked to discuss the price charged with the manager as rooms were being advertised much cheaper after the concert cancellation. I met him, and we were able to come to a compromise. The rooms were still expensive, however, the manager did not have to make an adjustment, so I appreciate what he did for me.
The rooms were expensive, as noted above.

Excellent location, plenty of parking, good amenities, staff were friendly, bed was very comfortable, decor lovely, bathroom well appointed, fluffy towels, luxury toiletries, very spacious room, plenty of storage.
There is no mirror suitable to do makeup, look in whilst drying hair etc. There is one tall mirror in a dark corner, not accessible via a plug and the bathroom mirror, which steams up after a shower. This was the one flaw with the room and could be simply fixed by the addition of a wall mirror above a plug socket. Seemed an odd oversight when so much thought had clearly gone into the room.

The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We had a late departure and were able to keep our bags there after checkout with no extra charge. The food in the restaurant was also very good. The location is brilliant. It's about 15 minutes from the airport and there's an airport bus every 10 or so minutes. It is about the same amount of time the other way as well to Prince's Street, and the buses are just as frequent.
The bathroom was really the only area lacking. The water took very long to heat up. One morning, it took over 10 minutes to heat up, and once it heated up, the temperature dial didn't seem to change the temperature at all.
