The breakfast was first class. A properly full English breakfast, with generous servings of everything. The beer choice was good and the atmosphere was brilliant The location in terms of a day trip to Hadrian's Wall couldn't be faulted. The staff were polite, welcoming and had good senses of humour.

Nothing jumps to mind, although....as an Australian visitor, I did find it strange people had dogs in the dining room. More concerning was when they barked at each other and at one point, gums were peeled back and they seemed quite vicious.

I'm regularly up in the Carlisle area for work and have stayed in countless local Hotels. I have FINALLY found the Hotel that I'll be staying at everytime. It was faultless. The room (Tiny Tim) was spacious, clean and cosy with all expected Mod Cons in a Modern Hotel Room. I loved how each room had a selection of Local Walks for you too choose from in their welcome book. The food was fantastic and they were beyond accommodating. Even though Brampton is a small village with what would appear to have limited Parking, there is actually a big free carpark behind the pub which was really handy for my Luton Van, as that definitely would not have fit in a space on the main square. The owners have 3 gorgeous, friendly dogs that roam about the pub too - so cute! Would 100% recommend this place.

Nothing to dislike - was all 10 out of 10!

Beautiful place, bedroom was spotlessly clean and the shower superb! Was given a very warm welcome and shown to my room on arrival and asked if I needed anything. There was a band on which was an added bonus but no noise could be heard in the bedroom. I opted for a bacon roll for breakfast as I didn't think I could eat a cooked breakfast, I saw staff bringing out the cooked breakfasts, they were huge! The bacon roll was also huge with lots of tasty bacon, they source local food which is great too. The morning coffee was delicious! Loved it, would definitely stay again and certainly recommend, thank you!

Nothing it was perfect!

The room was very clean tidy and generally comfortable, the hotel and restaurant staff were extremely welcoming and very polite and checked if everything was good. The food was good and reasonably priced. I was out all day and I was taken care of with packed breakfast. The room had good facilities with tea coffee etc.

My room seemed to suffer from noise when people exited via the external door next to the room as the platform moved and someone seemed to be moving furniture around in the room above, but wasn’t a problem at night

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of town. Our room was bigger than normal. The room amenities were good. Shower and bathroom were good. Breakfast was also good. We also used the bar downstairs and the restaurant. The food and service were good. It's ideal for touring Hadrians wall.

No real complaints, parking is disc restricted out front, but finding somewhere nearby that was free was not a challenge. The hotel has a lot of custom for walkers, and ramblers and people touring hadrians wall, so this might not suit all tastes.

Used as a stop over/rest on way to Scotland. friendly staff, good breakfast. Had a nice evening meal there. Nice location. Brampton was a nice market town. Landlady was very friendly and helpful.

1 of our nights- Friday clashed with the last working day before Christmas so the place was heaving plus a band was playing that evening so very noisy. However true to the landlady's word it finished at 11pm. Also my husband has a disability and all bedrooms are up at least 1 flight of stairs. We were on the 2nd floor originally but she changed the room immediately we arrived so only had 1 flight to climb.- our fault as should have checked re ground floor rooms

Everything. Rooms spotless.The Staff were truly 10/10.So kind to my twin sister who has a learning disability. Took time to make her feel so welcome.The housekeeper in particular was so friendly, telling us places to walk with my dog etc.Food was excellent and I'd highly recommend the cream tea,excellent value too.Phoned me when I also left my dogs collar and lead and arranged to post it back to me.I will 100%be back , bringing my lovely friends with me.THANK YOU ALL AT THE HOWARD ARMS

Absolutely could Not fault it at all

The staff, the room, lovely good sleep. The room was clean and tidy. I have stayed here 4 times, love the place. Plus the young lad serving breakfast this morning was amazing, he was so patient polite and was run off his feet on his own. Hats off to him.

Felt really sorry for the young lad serving breakfast on his own serving all the customers, coffees and breakfast all on his own, so our breakfast was a lot longer to wait.

We had a very good stay from arrival to departure. Managed to park directly outside in the pleasant town square, the staff were very welcoming, showing us our rooms and providing fresh milk for tea. Dinner in the bar was a good standard in a lively atmosphere but the breakfast surpassed it - extremely good buffet and high quality fresh cooked hot food. Good value too. We liked the Dickens theme.

Nothing - no complaints at all.

Central location, not that I needed to go anywhere, as I was staying over the night before our friends wedding. The food was excellent, we had a meal in the evening which was one of the best fish and chips I ever had. Breakfast was also excellent, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, friendly and courteous.

I could hear the guy in the next room snoring through the night. Not the hotels fault but it was my only gripe.
