Large, comfortable and very clean ensuite room with a lovely elevated view across the water. Proximity to the ferry, which left every 10 minutes or so during the day. Charming, warm-hearted service at breakfast.

Not the establishment's fault, but the ferry across the river to and from Fowey (where restaurants are) stopped at 8.30 p.m. Also, though we didn't try the evening menu, breakfast wasn't on the same level as the room: it was perfectly fine but nothing special. If the price (not cheap) was reasonable overall, it had to be considered so on account of the room, not so much the cuisine. There are plenty of classy eateries in Fowey, if only one didn't have to hotfoot it back to the ferry mid-evening (the alternative being a lengthy round trip by car).

Great location. Dog friendly.Very peaceful and an escape from city life for a few days. Situated in Bodinnick, opposite Fowey. A ferry provides regular trips to Fowey-only takes a few minutes to get across. Car parking is a few metres from the Inn in a secluded area. Hall Walk is nearby. A pleasant 3 mile walk to Polruan. From Polruan there is a foot ferry that takes you to Fowey. Exceptionally friendly staff. Pete, Paul and the rest of the team were extremely accommodating. Meeting Archie the Newfoundland (favourite dog breed...Shh don't tell my English Springer Spaniel) was definitely the highlight of our stay. Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Tea/coffee facilities were provided as well as toiletries. The hot tub on top deck as well as the balcony provided lovely views of Fowey and the Eastuary. Had breakfast and our evening meal everyday throughout our stay and it was faultless. There's a micro distillery on site. I tried the blueberry gin with a dash of lemonade and it was delicious. I recommend it to those who don't normally drink gin, like myself. Cannot wait to return. Thank you! Please put hooks behind the bathroom door to hang towels after use.

The views was outstanding from our room

Nothing really other than the rooms are quite loud as In you can hear your neighbour !!! To be fair we had a couple that were really not nice when drunk and we could hear everything, I spoke with Paul the owner and it was dealt with but maybe in the slower mo than a bit of sound proofing in the coffee areas or not have the beds back to back but it sounds harsh because everything else was awesome and you can’t guarantee the level of residents so please no judgement on the staff or accommodation which was not at fault.

All of the food we had at the Old Ferry Inn (breakfast and evening meals) was piping hot, all big portions and very tasty! The views from the rooftop decking were amazing, really lovely location! All staff were welcoming and lovely. We had to use the ferry to get to Fowey town which we knew about before we came, was easy to use and not too expensive as a foot passenger!

Room was more dated compared to the en-suite, I found the bed a little uncomfortable (probably due to my pregnancy though), however my husband found the bed really comfortable! Could have had more options for breakfast, potentially on a menu so we could browse rather than decide on the spot what we wanted.

The staff were very friendly, the accommodation was excellent, there is a very relaxed atmosphere about the place. Only about 30 yards to the ferry for Fowey, facilities are good with a guests only lounge overlooking the river, two sun terraces one with a hot tub .

Not something I didn't like more of an observation. The car park is about a hundred yards away up a very steep hill (free) if you were elderly or poor on your feet it would be a struggle.

The whole atmosphere of the hotel was first class: the winding staircase, the friendly, professional staff, the food. Many of the staff had worked there for some years and were easy to talk with and very informative about the surrounding area. We met many people during our 3 night stay, from all over Britain and the continent. The relaxing atmosphere was just what my wife and I needed. Well done to all the staff for making us so welcome.

Absolutely nothing!

The rooms , facilities, staff couldn’t fault . Lovely bar and everyone was friendly and helpful. Room was large enough with very comfortable beds . No need to stay in your room as plenty of areas to relax inside and out with a fabulous view .

Parking was difficult. Would prefer a breakfast menu with choices , the breakfast rather let it down . Evening meals could do with a bit more variety as there is nowhere else there to eat . Lot of chip type dishes .

Superb location with stunning views over the Fowey estuary. Rooms are lovely and well equipped and most have great views too. The sun deck with hot tub is a bonus and the guest lounge and terrace also have superb views. Staff are very friendly- especially the breakfast ladies 😄

Loved all of it but be aware it is at the bottom of a VERY steep hill and rooms are up a few narrow stairs so if walking is difficult for you it could be tricky.

I loved everything about The Old Ferry Inn! The room was perfect with some lovely quirky touches and high quality fittings. Beautiful, spacious bathroom. The breakfast and evening meals were all delicious and I couldn’t finish a meal because the servings were plentiful. I loved the tapas choices and the smoked salmon pate is the best I’ve ever tasted. The drinks menu was amazing and very reasonably priced and I wish I was there longer so I could have tried some more of the wines!! All of the staff I came across were warm and friendly especially the lovely ladies who served breakfast. The best thing about my stay was that it was 100 per cent dog friendly. I was travelling alone with my dog as I’ve done many times before. Often hotels advertise themselves as dog friendly but when you get there you can only have access to certain areas. My dog was as welcome as I was in all areas of the hotel and we both had a fabulous time.

There was nothing that I didn’t like about the property.

This was a last-minute booking, and The Ferry Inn exceeded our expectations by far! The staff / owner was so friendly. An amazing hot tub on the top deck with amazing views over the sea/harbour. We had a fabulous sea view room, and, in the morning, we had coffee sitting in our bay window taking in the views. Lovely gowns provided for the hot tub and delicious food on offer. Fabulous walks from The ferry in, and the ferry literally picks you up at the door to take you across the bay. I would definitely stay again!
