The hotel offered fantastic views that were truly breathtaking. Whether it was the city skyline or natural landscapes, the vistas from the property were mesmerizing and added a special touch to my stay. The staff at the hotel were lovely and highly professional. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that guests felt well taken care of. Their warm hospitality and professionalism enhanced my overall experience. The bed in my room was soft and incredibly comfortable. It provided a cozy and restful sleeping environment, allowing me to wake up refreshed and rejuvenated each morning. The breakfast served at the hotel was excellent. The quality and variety of the offerings exceeded my expectations. It was a pleasure to start the day with a delicious and satisfying meal.

However, there were a couple of aspects that could be improved. Firstly, the bathrooms in some of the rooms were not as new or modern as depicted in the images. This discrepancy was a bit disappointing, as I had expected more updated facilities based on the promotional material. Furthermore, the room I stayed in tended to be fairly warm, even with all the windows open. It was quite challenging to cool down the space to a comfortable temperature, which made the room less enjoyable during hotter periods. Despite these drawbacks, the fantastic views, friendly staff, comfortable bed, and excellent breakfast made my overall experience positive. While there were a few areas for improvement, I still had a memorable stay at this property and would consider returning in the future.

Breakfast was very nice. staff was exceptionally friendly especially staff in the bar area especially Tinesha. Everyone was so friendly from cleaners to reception to spa staff .

Found food and drinks to be quite pricey.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Short walk via some steps to Carlyon Bay Beach, and heading the other way on the S.W Coast Path, nice walk to Charlestown and onwards. Staff were great, lovely breakfast, and food in the restaurants and Spa Bar all very good.

On the Saturday the Spa was more like a holiday camp/Local leisure centre, very busy and extremely noisy, so if you want a quiet break head for weekdays. Also, the gym and part of the spa area was shut while we were not told until the day before travelling even though it was a planned closure and closed days before we went, so that was a little frustrating.

The ambience of the hotel was super in all areas including the room, restaurant, bars and spa. The bed linen, towels etc. were spotless and the bed really comfy. Every single member of staff encountered for whatever reason were professional, friendly and helpful. The food (no matter which venue - bar, spa, restaurant) was exceptional - clearly an excellent chef!

A slight disappointment was that I had requested the room be laid out as a twin which it wasn't although this did not spoil the stay. Unfortunatley, the noise from the room immediately above us including use of the bathroom facilities could be clearly heard - although again as this was only first thing in the morning it did not mar the experience that much.

All meals were magnificent and well presented with locally sourced food available. The breakfasts were the best we have had with fantastic views and exemplary service by very friendly but professional staff. The housekeeping staff were so friendly and generously gave us information on sightseeing and local destinations to visit. Accommodation was very good with rooms sufficient in size with separate bathrooms. Security in the bedrooms was of a high standard. We required maintenance for a very minor matter and was fixed within minutes. Shout out to this staff member too, great customer service and personality. The spa, pool, sauna and wellness area was the highlight, excellent, very clean, quiet and most of all relaxing. Drinks available and the massages were exceptional. A stay at this resort was so invigorating and we left with great satisfaction and overwhelmed by the whole experience provided by the dedicated staff. Thanks for a truly wonderful stay and experience during our holiday in the UK.

Parking was a bit difficult to find when golfer's used parking spots during competition days.

From the second we arrived, to the moment we left, the staff were utterly perfect! The service was superb, the food was fantastic and the cocktails were sublime!!!! We wanted for nothing during our stay. The staff couldn't do enough for us without being overbearing. We ordered room service breakfast on our second morning and it was absolutely gorgeous!! Our room was spotless, Champagne was lovely and cold on our arrival and the view was stunning. We had the best time and a much needed break. Our room was 106 for reference.

The spa was okay, a little tired (tiles cracked, loose and missing in the steam room) People were leaving their towels and robes on the limited amount of spa beds when going for treatments and/or lunch, which meant others weren't able to use them. On the plus side, there is a spa-bar that you can use whilst wearing your robes, meaning we managed to find somewhere to sit. Just a bit annoying when the same small groups are taking all the beds, but not actually using them. We would return for the hotel without question, just not necessarily for the spa. It's a very small spa for the size of the hotel.

Carlyon Bay Hotel is a wonderful and characterful hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff were very professional but approachable/friendly. The atmosphere was refined yet relaxing. Entertainment was so well run and presented, enjoyable for all the family. The Spa was clean, well run and great facilities/treatments. The food was fantastic and breakfast was a real treat. In all areas there were plenty of staff which meant very quick and attentive service at all times. It was really noticeable that the 'as and when' activities like, putting, tennis and snooker weren't over policed or too strict which meant just filling a half hour here and there was effortless. The Fun zone staff were lovely and really encouraging and we felt they really wanted as many kids as possible to have fun and take part. The external activities like the Bushcraft/axe throwing guys were amazing, as were the magicians and the golf instructor. It's really clear that making people feel looked after, special and generally taken care of is top of the priority list and this seems to have been done by selecting the right people and training them exceptionally well so as to make it feel effortless and in no way over the top. Not to be forgotten are the room staff who seemed very hardworking and always noticeably friendly and engaging. I'm generally hard to please when paying good money for good accommodation and service, but I'm hard pushed to find anything that wasn't great. Thank you to all the Carlyon Bay Hotel staff.

The only thing I would say is that the 'Taste' restaurant felt more like a side room/overflow dining area and lacked any character or vibe of its own. Needed to be warmer, music a bit louder and a bit quicker/more attentive service. Excellent food but at similar prices to the main restaurant we felt like we'd made the wrong choice. However this was just one meal and maybe the high standard everywhere else made this seem not as good rather than in any way bad.

Fabulous hotel. Very smart, spacious and pristine. All facilities are in very good condition with no element looking tired as in many hotels. Bedroom is large and comfortable and no expense spared. Shower piping hot and lots of pressure. Restaurant choice for dinner excellent and breakfast provides lots of choice and excellent food. Gardens and surrounds including outdoor pool, tennis courts, putting green, 9 hole par 3 and full 18 hole golf course on tap. Sea view from the cliff top location stunning. Lots of parking too. Highly recommend.

Not a lot!

Delightfully un-British! No signs everywhere telling you what you can't do. You can actually go in the pool whenever you like and children are allowed. Refreshing outdoor pool is still just about usable in October. Nice warm indoor pool and other high quality facilities. Tennis and Pitch and Putt just outside - help yourself to clubs and balls - no booking required. Comfortable spacious rooms. The location is superb - perched on a clifftop with stunning coastline views and walks, nearby fishing village with casual dining and a pretty sandy beach with bars and snacks.

I have taken one point off for noisy ventilation fan on the land facing side of the building which can disturb light sleepers and faulty bathroom window that did not open (there was no extractor either). I have taken one point off for unreasonably overpriced food (breakfast is £18.50 per person and a main course at dinner is over £30). There are no other eateries within walking distance so the hotel guests are a captive market and clearly advantage is being taken. We had a great meal for half the price in Charlestown - 5 minute drive away.

Nice facilities, amazing location! Lots to do, very clean. Very friendly staff

very expensive drinks etc but sort of expected that... My only issue was that our room (138) was next to some sort of machinery that was buzzing away all the time... it was hot, so wanted the windows open but couldn't as the noise was sooooo bad, could even hear it with the windows shut! The air con was equally really really noisy so couldn't use that either, so didn't sleep well as was so warm, at £320 a night without breakfast I would of expected a far better , peaceful nights sleep...
