Oh my gosh the beds! The comfort was exceptional. We stay in a lot of different places and The Lighthouse has the best beds we have slept in. The grounds are beautiful and provide the perfect backdrop for a morning walk. The complimentary tea/coffee and toiletries were fantastic! The thought into providing additional extras such as a gluten free toaster were inspired, you just don’t get that anywhere else!

The breakfast was really quite average, and the shower curtain is a bit mould stained - could do with chucking away and buying another, plus the grouting could do with a squirt of bleach and a quick scrub.

I recently stayed at The Lighthouse and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel’s location was perfect, close to Longleat which made it very convenient. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were welcoming and professional throughout my stay. My room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, smart TV, Black-out blinds. One thing that stood out was the hotel’s breakfast spread, offering a variety of options ranging from fresh fruits, cereal, pancakes and hot meals.

However, the only thing I would have preferred is having the cutlery and napkins on the table at breakfast, so you wouldn’t have to keep getting up. Honestly, though, apart from that, everything was absolutely superb.

The location was perfect to visit Longleat and close proximity to Frome along with supermarkets and village pubs for local food. The area was stunning, quiet with open land for walks and perfect if you have your dog with you. The staff were extremely kind and always happy to help.

There was a choice of breakfast. Continental along with an English Breakfast and many more options which were on hand to order. The lounge area for breakfast is lovey and cosy to enjoy the open fire awell as you can sit and over look the outside land. There is a cafe also which you can enjoy on arrival or whenever it suits. Parking also was great. All accessible. We had a comfortable stay. The rooms cater for all with underfloor heating.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a lovely experience. The grounds were definitely the highlight—beautifully maintained and peaceful, offering a great place to relax. The room was simple but comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. A great spot for a quiet getaway!

I did notice an initial odor in the room when I first arrived, which quickly dissipated after airing it out. Another thing to note is that the staff, while friendly, weren't always readily available on-site. It wasn't a major issue, but it felt a bit different from the level of service I’m used to.

The situation was absolutely lovely and our room was lovely too

Unfortunately breakfast was very disappointing you have to pre order that I'm never a fan of but as was pre ordered I was expecting a great breakfast but it was very disappointing a very basic cooked breakfast with no care or attention. Personally they should drop the cooked breakfast and just offer a delicious continental but with great choice not the basic which was on offer and also the short time frame for breakfast makes it's rushed too. So for us the breakfast is very disjointed with what they offer with the hotel.

Breakfast was very good and cooked selection was made to order and of great quality. Location of property , for Longleat safari park suited us great and the nearby pub a five minute drive excellent for evening meal. On site cafe also did very good soups, light meals, coffee and cakes. Rowena at reception very professional and housekeeping lady friendly and café lady welcoming. Just a lovely building and outdoor space for the dog, would book again.

Overall great for our short 2 nights stay. Room 9 twin, a little small with interconnecting door to next room, so you could hear next door guests, but fortunately they were quite quiet, so didn't bother us.

What a fabulous place to stay a short drive out of Frome. There are 30 acres of estate grounds to wander in, a small fishing lake, woodland, an adventure playground for children and a great independently run cafe for drinks and snacks located within the property. Cooked breakfast was to order but all tge usual things to help yourself to beforehand. There is also an independently run swimming club across the courtyard that you can join and pay to swim. We only stayed one night but would happily have stayed longer. Would highly reccommend

We had an amazing stay. The combination of rustic farmhouse with modern facilities has been done very well, and the surroundings are beautiful. We were in "the stables" and had a large twin room with everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was really tasty, with plenty of choice. The staff are very friendly and happy to chat and ensure you are having a great stay. Overall, there are lots of little touches that just speak of quality and make you feel welcome and relaxed. We will be staying here again when we next come to this part of the country.

There is nothing not to like. it's a fabulous place.

Spacious living area, lovely big comfortable bed. Massive bathroom with rainfall shower. Glass bottles of fresh water each day and beds made up daily. The location is perfect for dog walks and being on the ground floor was so easy for the dogs, straight out onto the courtyard which was seconds from a hug field they could run for miles. Lovely breakfast the pancake machine was my daughter’s favourite. Great little cafe on site for mid afternoon snacks and then loads of variety of pubs or fast foodies for an evenings tea. The piano room was a bonus we could use for lounging or having tea at the table or play games.

Not a negative but a smart tele would have been the icing on the cake.
